  • A long episode of real time mowing. Almost an hour of real time, real sound mowing a big yard with tall grass. Perfect dinner time entertainment for the family. The mower is the Scag Cheetah with a 61 inch deck and a 31 hp Kawasaki engine.

    I can remember in those good ole bad days doing a little hay mowing with a 22 inch push. Now it takes a 15 thousand dollar machine.

      I think he should be in tv commercials for them. Who better? At least it wouldn't be fake like so many are. He certainly is a great spokesman for the equipment!

    This past fall and winter in my area has been extremely wet, and it’s been wet so far this spring. Everything is growing fast, and the green to everything has been very vivid due to the constant rainfall.

    I was leaning towards Ferris but heard the parts and build quality of Scag are 2nd to none. Great video. I put this on 1.75x speed. This zero turn is a real animal, seems to cut just about anything and would be great for my rough back acre. Probably will buy it next year. Thanks for the video demo..

      Oh yes, I will vouch for Scag. This Cheetah is 8 years old and has fought many tall grass wars for me. Still all original parts aside from belts and tires.

    These people must not worry about what their yard looks like to let the grass get that high. That's the mower i was going to buy until the salesman talked me into buying a Gravely 152 Pro Turn. But wish also had bought a 60 incher, I have 5 acres to mow.I live in southern Florida and there is so much sand that I'm changing the blades quite often otherwise they melt away to nothing.

    That was Really Great to Watch in Real Time, where you Truly Appreciate what having a Good Mower is about and also having the Power Behind it, so you are able to Tackle Jobs like this one. Mike I saw you here Talking about the Velocity Deck.... If you don't mind me asking.... What Makes it Better than the others? Is it that you can mow faster without Scalping or having Minimal Scalping? or is their another reason?

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  Před 8 lety +2

      There is a big baffle on the front. It allows the tall stuff to stand up again under the deck instead of just folding over and getting missed by the blades. Easy to see it on vlog 22.

    You should get a SoloShot camera for these videos. You wear the beacon and the tripod mounted camera will automatically following you all over the yard. I believe it zooms to as you get farther away.

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  Před 7 lety

      Yes, they are awesome. I've seen footage from them and they do handle zoom as well. I keep forgetting to look into them. Thanks for the reminder. I'll look them up right now.

      @MrSk3213 Před 7 lety

      Something 2LookAt they are releasing the new SoloShot 3 now which includes a camera. The SoloShot 2 would probably work with your Canon camera and should be cheaper once the new one comes out.

  • @ilike2mow
    @ilike2mow Před 8 lety +1

    Just out of curiosity, when you were originally getting this mower, did you consider the turf tiger?

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  Před 8 lety

      lol, well, no. I would now as long as it had the Velocity deck. It's all about the deck. When I got this, I foolishly thought I was going to be mowing at 16 mph. First time I tried to do that, I didn't have the seatbelt on and got bucked up onto the armrest. Scared the daylights out of me. I would totally buy the Turf Tiger now because I never mow faster than the Turf Tiger can go. Anything with the Velocity deck will mow like this. Considering a Turf Tiger are you?

    • @ilike2mow
      @ilike2mow Před 8 lety +1

      +Something 2LookAt yes and no, I'm thinking about demoing a few machines this summer just to get a feel for how these zero turns do on my properties. I'd like to get a zero turn at some point so I can get into mowing the larger properties like 1 acre or more. It could be done with my walk behind, but it would take a while. I'm thinking about doing a demo of one, but not sure if my trailer can handle a mower of that size lol

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  Před 8 lety +1

      ***** That is something to consider. Like my 1400 lb Cheetah is ruining my tailgate. I'm going to have to reinforce it this winter. Zero turns are awesome but you'll still want to keep a walk behind too. You can never have too many mowers!
