- The Messor colony! I have left these ants three weeks alone. I was very suprised when I came back from the vacation because there have been nearly no ants on the surface. Have fun!

So Just seeds and water and a colony that big can survive for 3 weeks OR more yeah i am impressed also my messor gets a lot of protein in their first year Just 56 i AM Happy with that but looking at yours..... xd

I just provide the ants with water, the ants self regulate the climate inside the nest. Mediterranean species need higher temperature for a healthy colony grow

Jap, genau das ist es. Direkt bei anthouse.es ist es übrigens um einiges billiger. Mit dem Formicarium bin ich sehr zufrieden. Habe es seit über einem Jahr in Benutzung und ich kann nichts beanstanden.
Ja sie sollten Winterruhe halten, es reichen aber 2 - 3 Monate bei Temperaturen zwischen 15° - 20°. Meine Ameisen stehen im Keller, da reicht es wenn ich einfach die Heizmatte ausmache.

Wie alt ist deine Messor Kolonie? Und haben sie bei dir auch am Anfang Insekten ignoriert?
Habe sie Mitte Januar diesen Jahres mit ca. 25 Arbeiterinnen bekommen. Anfangs haben sie auch keine Proteine angenommen, probier es immer wieder mal mit verschiedenen Insekten.Sobald sie damit dann anfangen, sollte die Kolonie schnell wachsen.
What bugs do you feed your messor ants? I feed them mealworms but they seem to ignore it. Im running out of ideas.
