Very cool build. GQ patrol owner and a huge fan of the 4jj1 👍.
dawn I wouldn't want to get in the mud with a car that clean , engine bay looks absolutely mint 👌 👍
That magic rocker cover Changing colour back and forth 😂
Anxious for the first start up
Hell yeah 🔥🔥
As a mechanic of 40 + years and living in remote areas of Australia that seem to be " my dream 4wd destination " I wonder at the practicality of some conversions as far as breakdowns go, most the heart ache I've seen has been from owners of modified converted vehicles that are not mechanics themselves
Every conversion has teething issues, its about working through them one by one.
Manufacturers spends millions and millions on development and integration (and even then there can still be issues)
You need support the stainless water pipe an cut it back more rubber hose please more flex 💪
You going to pull the hose off or crack the ss mounts on the tube
Awesome
How about its transmission does it have 4 wheel drive too
How's your sump clearance with the GU diffs?
Have you got to limit up travel or does the tierod come up past the sump without fouling?
Heaps of room, at least 2.5" even with the brace
@@adventurecorp
I don't mean the diff hitting the alloy part of the sump.
I'm talking about the tierod hitting the steel 'bowl?' part of the sump.
When I set mine up with gq diffs the tie rod just snuck infront so I could raise the diff till it hit the chassis rails. But the GU diff has the tie rod a bit further back and I had to drop my bump stops slightly.
Your motor looks even lower and further forward than mine hence the question.
This was setup at full bump plus some, still had heaps of room. We fitted zd30 chassis mounts to it.
Can you do a 4jj1 conversion too a hj75 troop carrier or 78 series troop carriers?
Mate can a 4hk1 fit to a patrol 3litre Di manual? Anyways nice build
Sick car
But what habent to the winch chruck
Dumb question, but where the throttle body 😅
Doesn't have one anymore 😁
Great video! What sort of economy are getting around town & highway with 300honat the wheels?
Hi Dallas here I have 2004 Nissan navara Zd30 running gear would the 4jj1 conversion fit in it thank you dallas
Yes
Is that master cylinder res not gonna cook
It gets swapped out for a different one.
where is ep 4
Comingn soon!
LIMITED TO 180 HP .. i think you need a new tuner
What
Doesn't make sense to push the factory ecu past that. Anything past that is injectors, turbo and stroker pump territory and tuneability starts to suffer.
@@adventurecorp
What part of tuning can't you do through the ecu?
I get that live tuning is a huge advantage. But from speaking to a few tuners, if you have the time you can easily push past 300hp on the factory ecu. Pretty sure reaper hit 500hp on their work ute without a piggyback ecu.
@@bennyjahmin3953 when your making fine adjustments or regular changes nobody wants to bench an ecu 30 times, when you can make the same changes in 10 minutes on the fly with different maps for different scenarios.
Nobody wants to daily drive 300hp, or 500, maybe Max 250 from a reliability standpoint. The factory ecu can't do that.
@@adventurecorp
When you say 'bench' the ecu I'm assuming you mean take it out of the car.
I'm pretty certain you don't need to do that, atleast for the transtron ecu.
And yes it does take longer for the tuner and I totally see from your point of view the advantage of live tuning. But that's not what I'm getting at.
You said the factory ecu is only good to 180hp. Yes the turbo and injectors will limit that.
But if time wasn't the issue (for tuning purposes) and you just wanted it tuned to around 250hp and able to jump in and not have to drive to the gauge, what can you 'adjust' in the tune with a piggy back ecu that you can't with the factory ecu?
