Dropping this on a Sunday is the real flex
Truuuuuuuue
@mariangelrivas3290BEGONE THOT!!
Facts!
Helpful more than flex imo
@mariangelrivas3290bruh are you high or something
"Where is the Chick-Fil-A sauce?!", Gordon asked calmly.
Calmly 😂
God tier memeing
Tbh, I never eat Chic Fil A without the sauce. I think Josh should've taken the sauce into account for this video.
someone needs to tell josh about all the sauces you can pick from lol
Was just about to say! How you gonna rate them for no sauce when literally all they ask is would you like any sauces? 😂
Yeah I have no idea where that came from. You pick your sauce and put it on the sandwich. 😅
It's also never dry. It's the only fast food chicken that doesn't taste like fast food chicken.
@georgeemerald4389 never is a bold statement.. I've had good and bad experiences with most restaurants and night shift or busy cities tend to be the worst
@shadowproductions969 the only time I've ever had a dry Chick-fil-A sandwich is when it's catered for a large event and the mass produced boxes are sitting out for an indeterminate amount of time before we eat
That throwback ad was the real treat. Kendrick and crew are treasures
CFA isn’t over rated. It is so well liked because it’s simple and consistent. It’s not mind blowing but it’s good every time.
Exactly I’m not tryna spend 45 minutes making my own sandwich when I can go buy one for like 6$ 😂😂
well I don't like CFA
@@MultiGemgirl I’m happy for you 😂
They are horrible company and they donate to anti LGBTQ organizations…TLDR..do not support chick fil a
Overrated.
If you're going to do homemade Chick Fil-A-do homemade Chick Fil-A sauce!
I can tell you how do I get my sauce 😏
the Chic Fil A sauce is ASSCHEEKS compared to the Polynesian sauce
I think I saw it at Publix if you're interested in just buying a bottle
It’s just honey mustard bbq and mayo
Its easy. 3 parts mayo, 2 parts smokey bbq, 1 part honey, 1 part mustard.
Watching this man always makes me sad that I don’t have a kitchen
I am limited in what I can cook, but I’m always inspired to cook something new!
Hey Josh, I have watched so many foods videos on CZcams but it is your channel that gave food and it's making process a real and fun meaning. I hope you would never stop. ❤️
I love the retro aesthetic on Texture Over Taste's ad! Do more!
I keep enjoying the mere look of your buns over anywhere else's.
You know what else is magic? B ROLL.
@mariangelrivas3290the grammer aint grammaring
thats what she said
To be fair with the sauce debacle they do always ask you if you want to add sauce that you can always put on yourself. Also prefer oil-dipped style Nashvilles more than the Chick-fillit spicy these days and I don't even miss sauce on that plus it goes super good on a biscuit for brekky.
It's a pick your own sauce restaurant. He just needs a reason to put it down.
I’m from Scotland and first tried Chick Fil A in the US a few years ago, and neither store I visited asked me what sauce I wanted. I thought it was really overrated until I had it with sauce on a few years later
@@dsg45 That's not very Chick-fil-A of them! Because it's nowhere near as good without it.
@@thechefnextdoor their food is only good when you dump a gallon of chick fil a sauce on it (140 calories a packet lol)
How did you go from "to be fair" and "debacle" to "brekky."
Love your video's and I can tell everything you make is super yummy. I can only eat this way once in a while, but I like to go all out when I am serving others. Great inspiration!
your craft is great!👍👍👍
They don't put sauce but they offer you any sauce that you want. I usually put the Chick fil A sauce. And it's can be a bit dry, but that's why I get the spicy deluxe, it has lettuce and tomato.
Yup, I prefer Polynesian sauce, but I agree the lack of sauce is intentional because you as the consumer get to pick what kind and how much to put on.
some things on the "but better" channel are good and he makes it seem as if they should go in the garbage.
He doesnt even add the sauces to it too
Try their honey roasted bbq, basically cfa sauce but better
@@gomanthe14th71No, major fast food chains aren't ever good.
yea i dont get why he said that lol mf just be talkin
I've never been to Chick-fil-A but as someone who is very picky when it comes to sauces (mustard and mayo are a no-go) I like the fact that you can put any sauce on.
You're not missing anything. Barf.
No mayo? Grow up
@@Jiggy609 Insinuating that it's immature to have preferences? Grow up.
you can ask them to hold the sauce at literally any burger place
@@jhtv5757yeahhh but it’s about a 50/50 chance that they actually do it
I prefer this form of video over that game play stuff. I love your channel for your cooking knowledge, hope to see more of this again in the future
This looks amazing! Can you please do the Double Smoked Bacon Breakfast Sandwich at Starbucks? I’ve been looking for a copycat recipe for the buns for years!
It's literally just a shitty frozen egg on a shitty frozen croissant with shitty frozen bacon. Cook an egg and put it on a croissant with thick cut bacon.
Double smoked bacon sounds delicious 😋
@@shaunstelfox1718It is
YESS OMG id love to be able to make this at home instead of buying that tiny overpriced thing
This man will never run out of But Better episodes.
One day he'll be digging up the most obscure fast food items and make them better lol
And it'll always be truly better
Because everything he makes is better 😅
Love this channel so much! Been a fan for a long time! Thanks for all this content papa!❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Congrats on 8mil man! You deserve it! I also still use your recipes from your cookbook! Very delicious!!!
I tried adding 1g of amylase as you suggest because I thought it is the secret to soft buns, but turns out: what you were using is surely a ”bread improver” mix that contains some parts of amylase because if you use pure alpha amylase you are supposed to only use 0,006% of it, while you are using 0,2%, meaning I was overdosing by 30 times and my dough just turned into a gummy substance and did not develop a crumb at all. The buns came out like raw although they reached the correct internal temperature!
Exact thing happened to me
Never trying this guy recipe again
😱 awesome recipe… you made me love cooking 🧑🍳.. keep up the great work
This chicken sandwich looks delicious! I definitely will be making this week!
Joshua, welcome back 🤗. Congratulations to you and your Bride!! May you always be as in love as you were exchanging your vows. Blessings to you both.
Oh man yet another bun recipe! I have been making the chicken sandwich buns from your McChicken video. It's going to be a bit before I can make these and see what the difference is -- if anyone ends up making both, I'd love to see which one turns out the best! And they are most certainly different recipes in case anyone wants to double check -- if you convert this to baker's percentages, it'll be a little easier to see. Plus the one from the McChicken video had malt powder in it
I'm sorry Josh but I just can't do bread and butter pickles. You can pry my homemade half-sours out of my cold, dead hands. (That said, this recipe looks awesome, looking forward to trying the new recipe for the buns!)
Me with my kosher dills ❤
Dill is the only way to go - bread and butter are atrocious.
Congratulations on 8 million subscribers Josh! Been watching your content for a long while now, and I look forward to seeing you reach 9 million:D
ive been around since he had about 100k subs and i remember being like "this guy is quality, why does he have so little?!". proud of him for getting so far!
I love when you drop a cook book. You are the best commercial man mama
Good to see you back making your regular videos again, I missed them
So now I want some Chick-fil-A but it’s Sunday so I guess I’ll just have to make this recipe
Past chick fil a worker here. The secret to the spicy chicken is the buffalo marinade that comes already on the chicken from the manufacturer. Our coater is basically what you made, you got all the spices right. Our coater itself isnt that spicy and its only real difference from the regular is that it has paprika. Other than that, nailed the but better.
Also, our chicken cuts are half breast meat half thigh meat.
I love watching these videos, I live alone in an apartment eating cheap bland foods so watching these videos helps me allot, I'd love to support your channel as it supports me but I'm broke so best I can do is watch and like your videos. Please continue making videos much love💕
I make a variation of the "crispy chicken flamethrower" sandwich and I might have to try that chicken recipe. To me, the chipotle mayo and thick cut bacon (on top of the deluxe dressing) just cranks everything to 11. A good tomato and pepperjack cheese makes any sandwich better
Not gonna lie the Spicy Deluxe from Chick-fil-A is the best sandwich I've ever eaten
I would love to see your take on Jamaican Food. Beef Patties & Coco bread, Jerk Chicken w/ Coconut Rice & Peas, oxtails etc
Facts
Whenever I make your recipes, I apply every gram to the letter and BAM, it always comes out perfect. Whenever i try other youtubers recipes, it usually fails. Maybe its me. but if thats the case, yours come out impeccably well. I dont know how you do it. but, damn man. GOOD JOB.
I came back from visiting the US last week and I really did enjoy chick-fil-a. I ordered this exact sandwich. I wish I was able to try some of the other sandwiches. I loved this one...I ended up buying a chick-fil-a sauce in walmart, so I'm hoping to try out this recipe!
As someone who doesn’t go to fast food places regularly and doesn’t even have all of them available, I really lost track what the difference between all these chicken sandwiches are
From over a decade ago, Wendy's had a special 4 alarm spicy chicken sandwich that has been my all time favorite chicken sandwich of all time.
The surprised motion of my head whipping back almost gave me whiplash when you started showing b roll without first announcing it.
Used to work at CFA! We don’t do a sauce so those who have allergies (like me) don’t have to ask for it off, and then we have to make a whole separate sandwich and slow up the line.
I am always making the buns! Awesome :)
😂😅 my son loves chick filet and I told him I could make them at home 100 times better. And then I found your channel the same night! Which was kind of weird but I appreciate this. We’re gonna try it- buns pickles and all!
To be fair, there aren't really many fast food restaurants that you couldnt cook a better version of the food of. thats kind of the point. If a restaurant offered this sandwich instead, it would be $12-15 easy. Fast food has to balance cheap with taste. The idea is to balance taste with affordable. If it ever becomes too easy to replicate, the quality is too low, and if it ever becomes too expensive, people will just make it themselves.
@@miclowgunman1987What?
Want to buy your book here in Brazil. Can't wait to have it available.
Ive been wanting to see Josh replicate their spicy chicken for a while
the way you skipped chick fil a sauce is crazyyyy
Finally! This is the spicy sandwich I’ve been waiting for!
I liked your previous bun recipe, so I'll be trying this one out tomorrow!
On the side note, what can I do with all those leftover egg whites?
As someone with a ton of allergies I love chick fil a cause I don’t have to worry about any sauce with something I’m allergic to and they only make chicken so I don’t have to worry about cross contamination with other meats either it’s so nice.
Plus they have so many sauce options I like that so I can put the sauce on when I want and not have soggy bread.
he said why is there no sauce? get the sauce
Kendrick is so funny, can we have him to cook in 1 episode?
I love the SCS. Consistency is an issue. Sometimes they are dry af, but other times I’ll get one that’s moister than a oyster and that’s what keeps me coming back for more.
Thank you for making this Josh. Ever since they added sesame flour to their buns I haven't been able to enjoy these with my allergies :/ Time to make them homemade!
Honey go get your fancy dress, new But Better just droped
Still waiting to see Papa take on Panera's cheddar broccoli soup. Easy enough to flex on a fast food sandwich but no homemade buns to elevate your soup game
I don’t mind the not open on Sundays, but that’s when I always get a Chick-fil-A craving 😂
I literally left the house to get this exact sandwhich, realized it was sunday and went home, and then saw this later in the same day.
nah I live in Mexico, and when I travel to the U.S. the thing I most look forward to is a Chick'fil'a Spicy chicken deluxe, with mac'n'cheese instead of fries and a root beer. It fast and delicious, but granted it is fast food. I have had better chicken sandwiches than what you get at chick'fil'a, but for the time it takes and how good it is it makes it worth it
Bruh… you pick whatever sauce you want 🤣
Seriously I'm ready for more than these better recipes. Master Chief stuff
I'm watching this and eating checkers/rally's and realized you've never done a episode on them. I love to see you do that
Super great video here, Josh and team! That sandwich looks amazing!
As a person who doesn't like mayo at all, (or many condiments on my sandwiches), I appreciate that Chick-Fil-A doesn't put sauces on their sandwiches. Not everyone is crazy about sauce and I like the fact that they give you the option to just do it yourself if you want that. I don't know if I just have good CFAs by me, but I eat my sandwiches without any sauce on them and my chicken is never dry. I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but I've always had a good experience with CFA. Plus, the spicy chicken sandwiches has a good amount of spice to it and I really appreciate that the spice is in the chicken and not in the sauce like in other restaurants.
I love chik fil a just cause it’s consistent probably the reason a lot of ppl do
8 million congratulations 🎉😊
Ain't nobody eating bread and butter over dill Papa, respectfully.
I genuinely don’t know why people complain about there being no sauce on the sandwich. You put the sauce you want on it, pick from the sauces and put it on yourself. They have their chicken-fil-a sauce, not everyone likes it, they might like Polynesian, or honey mustard, or buffalo etc. by leaving it unsauced the people can do what they want.
Exactly...
I always use honey roasted bbq on the spicy sandwich. It’s so good!
He needs a reason to bring it down so he can do his "bUt BeTtEr"
I didn't know about the sauces. I just ate it as it was and loved it. I usually don't like sauces because I have to ask if those have dairy in and it becomes a mess. Also, in some places they put way too much mayonnaise for my taste.
@@merrivideo perfect example, which is another reason I think it’s best to leave it with no sauce. If you like it without sauce and it has one on it you have to ask to leave it off and it also slows the process down for them to prepare cause now it’s a special order, assuming they don’t screw it up. Compared to having no sauce and they simply ask if you’d like any and if so which one. It makes the process so much simpler and you don’t have to worry about people putting too much of a condiment on a sandwich or too little, you’re in control of it. To me this is a positive, not a negative.
I was missing you Joshua , thanks for this amazing video (I didn’t see it yet but I already know)
nice to see a full episode and not just the shorts
Jim
His main complaint is about the sauce that they have endless options on Polynesian, Southwest, chipotle, honey barbecue honey, mustard, barbecue sauce, ketchup etc. etc. 😂
Looks really good, try making more fastfood but better, but with the same time the fastfoods made it. This would be a fair race, seeing which one is going to be better.
Bringing the flavor game to a whole new level 🍔🫙🥬🍅
Gonna have to make this today
I've never eaten at Chik-fil-a and I'm honestly proud of that. Definitely going to give this But Better a try
Finally a spicy chik fil a sandwich that's spicy and worth it.
@mariangelrivas3290why are you here then
I love the 80’s commercial bit. That was awesome 😎. Papa did a good one.
that note you hit singing msg might be the best thing I've heard all morning
Fun fact, you can use olive oil to make mayo. HOWEVER, it completely changes the taste. I personally like it, but it can be too strong for some types. Definitely use a neutral flavored oil the first time you make mayo.
Our dark and dreary, human existence is already a bitter experience. Why add to the disappointment with bitter mayo?
@viridian4573 I wouldn't call it bitter, but like I said it's a personal preference.
I’ve made both! They’re both tasty for sure, but I think the breasts have a much better texture for a sandwich. Breasts are just as easy to cook as thighs as long as you have a thermometer. Texture is way more important than the very slight difference in taste imo.
Great video as always
Congrats on 8mil
Despite cheating by going with the thighs and sauce, this looks amazing. Definitely going to try it.
Other than the bread n' butter pickles, which are literally the worst.
So you ordered it without sauce and complained about there not being sauce...? They have some really good sauce, my favorite is the honey roasted barbecue.
That chick fila sandwich is the closest a fast food item ever got to what it looks like in the ad.
I made this today. Lots of work but damn it was so good I keep thinking about it. I had enough breading leftover that I started breading fish I had in the freezer. Might as well fry everything since I have the hot oil ready.
No sauce and I’ve also never had a sandwich from them that looked like that. They’re always delicious
I think Chick-fil-A provides a consistent chicken sandwich. That's why i like it.
I lost it at the book being duck taped to the ceiling
I need to just go ahead and make one of is bread rolls recipes. They look so good.
Im sure this tastes amazing, but the spicy chicken deluxe meal from Chick-Fil-A will always be the ultimate guilty pleasure of mine 😋
I made it. It's delicious and saved myself 40$. I didn't do the overnight. I needed it now. My son liked it also. He's 7. I went easy on the cayenne but I wanted that taste.
Next time I'll half the breading and wash (egg, milk). I had a lot left over. I also pan fried it with 1/4 inch oil. Lard & EVOO Which was more than enough for my 5 chicken. I used chicken thighs pounded 1/4 inch thick.
RIP Auntie Fee. Miss yeah.
I'm going to pre order the book just because the advertising was that good lol. It's amazingly good ahhaahah!
That whip though🔥🔥🔥
I think Chick Fill-A not putting sauce on their sandwiches is genius, actually. If you want sauce, you can just ask for some sauce and then you get to decide how much you want on it.
It's impossible to get complaints about there being too much or too little sauce.
That's the company philosophy! The Grilled Chicken Sandwhich comes with Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce, for example, but you have full control over How Much You Want. I like half a packet, my coworker likes... two?
The control is nice. Very much Have It Your Way.
You can ask for half a dozen sauces and the response is always "My Pleasure"... I think that's the whole point, not only avoiding a soggy sandwich on your way home but you can dress it with the exact flavor you prefer.
Bro really decided to drop this on a Sunday. My man.
its when he uploads lol yall lame or not actual fans of the channel 🤣
Congrats on 8 million subscribers josh
LOL @ the little bell when you're seasoning (@6:42)
They have no sauce because you are supposed to put it yourself. And you get to choose how much sauce u want or combos. I think thats better than ordering the sauce and getting a sloppy mess.
Chick fil a is definitely not overrated
It is 😂
It's extremely overrated.
I STARVE untill this sandwich gets ready :))
This guy really complained about no sauce after saying no to what kind of sauce he would like
