- Macne Ryader is another case of a character from The A Song Of Ice And Fire books making it into the TV Adaption Game Of Thrones, however he is killed off early with arguable the most interesting part of his story thus being missing from the show. Mance plays a key role during the current situation at The Wall and at Winterfell during A Dance With Dragons and is posed to play a role of some kind during the winds of winter and the battle of ice. He also serves as an importnt mentor like figure to Jon in the same respect as Jeor Mormont, giving Jon the Freefolk point of view of the conflict with the night's watch. It appeats Mance's lessons have rubbed of on Jon somewhat given the choice he makes when he becomes Lord Commander Of The Night's Watch.
