Tip, so the hand brake cable is SUPER annoying if you do it this way, if you remove the 2 12mm bolts holding the cable bracket underneath, the cable itself becomes loose and you can remove the cable/clip with ease
    no swearing needed😇

DelinquentDJ Great idea. I’ll try that next time I replace calipers .... but my wife may think I’ve died if she doesn’t hear me swearing!

I'm going to attempt this same caliper replacement on my S2000 soon. Would you mind measuring the stick used on the brake pedal so I can cut one to the same size? I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

The stick I cut was 26 inches long. If you cut a hair too long you can cut off to make it fit or slide the seat.

Thanks for the tutorial. What brand rear calipers are those and where did you purchase them from?

I’ve been using Rock Auto as the supplier. They sell rebuilt calipers from several manufacturers. So far I’ve not seen any difference between the brands. They all have a ‘life expectancy’ of about a year before the gaskets go bad and they need to be rebuilt. I only use them for track 40/days per year. High heat. Street use they would probably last for ownership of car.

What brand did you use on the new caliper? Has it been good so far?

I used the NISMO calipers which are the Honda OEM. I am not the original owner of this car so i don't know for sure but I believe the NISMO calipers I replaced were the originals with 125,000 miles on them. The new calipers work great. This is now a dedicated track car. The pistons were not releasing on the old calipers and I was going through a set of rear pads every track weekend. Looking back, I should have replaced these calipers about a year ago. Now I am getting about 5 track weekends on a set of pads. I do not yet know how long these new calipers will last until I need to replace them.
A friend of mine who tracks his S2000 much more intensely than I do looks at the rear calipers as consumables. He gets the cheapest rebuilt ones he can find and replaces the calipers every 3-4 track weekends.

That's nasty....maybe move to a sunnier clime where the roads don't get salted???
