I'm going through the top 20 Favorite Video Game Songs of all time as voted on by my community. This came in at number 14!
I played Xenoblade Chronicles and was very excited to see what all of the hype was about, but every single time I tried to play it, I found that the game was scratching an itch that I seemed not to have so I had a very hard time getting through it. What is undeniable though is the music is some of the best gaming has to offer.
I've been eager to give Xenoblade 2 a try, hearing that it's a bit different and addresses some of the things I couldn't find patience for in the first one, and I'm a huge fan of the Action RPG genre so it's inevitable I'll be picking it up. It's very tough to cover songs from games that I haven't played since I feel like I'm missing out on the emotional attachment to the source material, but I have a lot to work with for this song and I really tried to match the original feel while adding my own flair. I put a lot more emphasis on the guitar lines and even doubled piano lines on guitar to bring that element more to light here. I hope you enjoy what I did with this amazing song!

It's crazy that basically any time I really love a song, I can come check out your channel and discover that you've covered it at some point. Xenoblade 2 is one of my favorite games ever (a game where the main plotline is basically helping a girl overcome her depression hits close to home), and this cover legit gave me chills when you hit 00:54.

fun game with nice cut scenes but the story telling was so messy at times and the break between story and gameplay was mediocre most of the time, this shouldn't be a good example to anyone :s
@@mielthesquid6536 media is subjective yunno, but I'd actually really disagree with you. You gotta be more specific than just the breaks weren't good? You can explore/do sides/ affinity/ level up or u can just push main story. Most JRPGS leave those breaks to the player. Maybe you were just confused to what to do or never played a JRPG before this?

@@TimothyGod From what I can gather from the description it sounds like he didn't enjoy the first games gameplay. Which tbh is probably the aspect of the game I enjoyed the least of but found 2 and 3 fixed. It just seemed really passive to me, especially in the beginning where it felt like you were just kinda standing there waiting for Arts to charge.

I absolutely love the Xenoblade trilogy and their DLCs and they are my favorite games of all time. 2 is my favorite of the three with 3 VERY close behind and 1 extremely close behind 3. I don't care about the fanservice, i was just there for a good JRPG, but was hit by the emotional rollercoaster of a game it is. They are my favorite games of all time and this is my 2nd favorite video game song of all time (Mechanical Rhythm goes crazy). Thanks for doing this and look forward to more. If you dont mind, could you do "Keves Battle" from 3?

I've never clicked on and liked a video than I did for this one as soon as I saw it pop up on my feed. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my favorite in the trilogy (Future Redeemed DLC being the close second). Once you get over the fan service-y stuff and lack of tutorials, it turns into one helluva emotional ride. I cried so many times and this song exemplifies those moments.
I still stand by the opinion that the emotional payoff in 2 (starting with the Crucible all the way to the end of the game) is the absolute pinnacle of writing in rpgs on the same level as FF7 and the like
@@Jotunn96 Really? I liked most of the ending before the final boss, but everything after that feels very forced. Pneuma sacrifices herself to stop a space elevator that started collapsing for no reason, then she comes back with both of the waifus in separate bodies purely for fan service. It feels very emotionally empty
@@manman2416They come back not because they don't want to die, but because they no longer fear living. And I'm pretty sure there is a lore explanation for elysium (I have no idea how it's spelled) falling. I think it's a scene you have to understand to enjoy. If you don't like it, it's fine. I just think it has a lot more going on than it might seem at first.

This is one of my favorites from the Xenoblade series and you more than did it justice. In particular, the original "feels" like it switches back and forth between ~80 bpm and ~160 bpm, whereas yours manages to keep the "slow" feel during the intense sections. That's hard to pull off!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, whenever Jules does a metal cover of video game music he truly encapsulates the artistic feel and emotions that the piece evokes. Not to say that other metal artists on the platform aren't good, but the quality the Jules puts forth goes beyond matching the song note for note.

Uh no, that's Xenoblade Chronicles 1 that has the weak combat, and if you say otherwise then you definitely haven't played it.

Merely a matter of taste. I just felt that the combat in XC1 and especially XCX flowed better than XC2's blade system. Didn't dislike it, but it wasn't quite as fun for me. @@deathbykonami5487

@@manman2416 nah, for me it was xc2 and xc3. 3 had a lot of build up from previous games, has the most fun, xc2 has huge potential. Xcx i felt was far too grindy, story i wasn't invested in. Fuckin lao? "Hey you just met me, but lemme me trauma dino about my family back home, and then barely make any appearance, except for stupid side missions, that are actually required to progress the chapter." It makes no sense, that the gameplay doesn't compliment the story. They need to be fast, and find their bodies or it's all over, but are forced to explore x percentage of the map in order to do so, or do side quests that aren't easy to find, just make it a main thing to do if you are forcing it anyway, it makes no sense. Ui is a nightmare to deal with, took til my second playthrough to be comfortable using it. Classes are dope and cool, tho, I just wish I cared enough to make them viae
