Had the 2.0 Shield and traded it for a G43 and prefer the G43.

I have the Shield. The Glock was not available at the time. I do however have 2 Glocks 19&23. Can’t go wrong with any of these guns. Buy 1 of each. Buy more if ya like👍 God bless America 🇺🇸

All my weapons training has been with Glocks so I’d go with the G43 because it’s what I know.

Had a Shield. Never loved it. Got a used 43 from a friend. Added vickers +2 base plates for 8rds. Still smaller than a shield and I like it better.

I do own both along with the P365. I do alternate when I carry. I like all 3 but the one I carry most is the Shield. My reason is that it does carry better....It is thinner. Not by much but enough so that it does feel like you are not carrying.

I traded a Taurus g3 for an m&p shield and I just love this gun. The mags are kind of hard to put in unless you put some umph behind it, but everything else about the shield I freaking loooooooooove.

One word: Price. I can't justify the price of the Glock. I don't care how many people swear by them. And Glock boys, don't give me your "reliability" argument, because I've never owned a gun more reliable than S&W, and that's going back over 40 years. Yes I know Glocks are awesome. They're reliable, but I've yet to hear one single valid reason for me to spend 150-200 more for a Glock. If you just love them and that's what you buy...more power to you. But don't give me this stuff about it being "better" just because it costs more. Go tell that to your little tacti-cool buddies at the range.
    Good video by the way!

The weight makes a difference, you can shoot the shield all day at the range with no issue, it shoots like a full-size Gun, the Glock 43 starts hurting my wrist a half hour in, that’s why I sold it

That's the best decision one could ever make, other than never buying one to start with.

How do the triggers compare to each other?

  • @martinanderson3054

So I have both as well and must say loving both companies the shield is a better softer shooting pistol. I have an Apex duty carry kit in the shield and I had to put a over watch precision trigger shoe on the 43...my finger was getting banged up as well...I also put a hogue grip sleeve on the 43 which for me transformed the shooting experience...now between the trigger and sleeve the 43 is my carry choice for ankle carry and when I have shorts on in the summer months although I’m considering giving my shield a little carry time ;) great shooter! I have had all the different mag extensions and have found for the money and reliability...for the 43...vickers tactical makes a plus2 that is awesome in my opinion multiple color options that match your frame color perfect

One more suggestion look up Magguts online they make spring kits that allow for added capacity...I’ve had 100% reliability so far...I use the plus 1 kit for the flush mount mags

I’m stuck behind enemy lines (in Commiefornia). Can’t get the Glock. (Legally). So I went to ammobros last Saturday and took a feel of the S&W an it felt GOOD. So good I bought one. Gonna add the hyve +2 on both the 7 & 8 round mags.

    • @brandonUwanawich954
      @brandonUwanawich954 Před 11 měsíci

Magguts is way better then hyve you can get a +2 without any added height

  • @CrowCreekOutdoors

How does the replacement base plate work? Does it come with a replacement tension spring to compensate for the added height?

I love my g43 but S&W makes a good pistol too. Can't go wrong with either

Anyone have any jamming issues with the shield. I’m looking at buying my first Stryker fired small handgun and some ppl seem to have experienced some issues with the Shield. I’ve carried either a S&W Chief stainless 2” or a Bertta 92FC off duty for years but am looking for something smaller and lighter.

I have and Carry both but if u r starting out as far as guns u should start out with the M&p because it has a safety on it. Me I'm carrying my g43.

FOR THE MONEY GO WITH THE SHIELD!!! LETS BE HONEST HERE, IF SMITH AND WESSON MADE THE GLOCK 43 and called the the M AND P 43 with the same exact specs, I GUARANTEE YOU EVERY ONE AND THERE BROTHER WOULD CHOOSE THE SHEILD OVER THE M AND P 43!!!

1st gun id recommend a larger handgun. Get comfortable shooting it and than rent a couple of the singlestacks.
