if you upgrade either the ssd or the ram on the air 13... it automatically gives you the 10 core gpu. (no additional cost)

Are you able to borrow/“procure” two »identical« M3 MacBook Pros, one, the base configuration, RAM and SSD; the second with »max« RAM and SSD, and then identically benchmark BOTH?
I’m dying to know if the heat that RAM generates and the SCORCHING 🔥 heat SSDs are infamous for causes a performance hit if they are larger in capacity inside the identical chassis. Will the fan in the RAM/SSD-maxxed out MacBook Pro compensate - so no performance hit? Are they louder because of more fan activity? And does lower RAM and SSD capacity in an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro equate to higher performance? If so, how much? Negligible or significant?
(I see a lot of video comparisons that say things like, “Well, this one’s a 14-inch not a 16-inch, but that shouldn’t matter in the comparison…” But, as you know, driving a larger, higher resolution display makes SoCs work harder, but at the same time, the larger chassis size allows more room for heat dissipation, so the only apt comparisons are between identical models except for, as I said, RAM and SSD size.)

What is better for programming?
I cannot choose between mba 15inch m2 8/512 or mba 13inch m3 16/512 or mbp 14inch m3 8/512? All cost relatively same in my country. Im thinking mainly about m3 16/512, but the 13inch is enough?

Honestly if you have the money to do it go for it. Mac OS is amazing in my experience at least. If you think that what you plan on doing with it for work or college there really are no downsides.

Thanks for another great buying guide. If I was starting fresh and a laptop was going to be my only computing device I would opt for the base M2 or M3 Pro MBP 14 with a 27 - 28" 4K monitor and the necessary peripherals (including external storage). This setup would satisfy both my at home and travel needs nicely.

If you need portability for a quick getaway such as: your house is on fire; your wife tells you to get out before she calls the cops; you get a tip the FBI is on way to your house to search/confiscate your stuff; things like this, Mac Mini is the only way to go. My set up allows me to grab the two minis, my keyboard and mouse and split the scene within minutes. At my new location I buy a display, and I am in business again. Ultra portability is the only way to go plus keep a stash of cash. I'm 81 and have been through 4 wives, brushes with the law during divorces, IRS problems with my small businesses, a house fire set by divorcing wife, etc. etc. You young men STAY MOBILE!!! Life is gonna throw you some curves. Best wishes.

I've recently been thinking about buying a new drawing tablet, and was hesitating between the Samsung S9 FE+ and the Apple new Ipad Air.
For context, I'm not planing on connecting it to my laptop or desktop and it will always stay on my desk.
So, for drawing.
Which one do you think would be the better choice?

I am not an artist - but I can tell you that my illustrator friends mostly use iPads (mostly iPad Pro). I hope that’s helpful.

Thanks so much for watching. It would be incredibly powerful. For most creators it’s probably a bit of an overkill - and they could use the m3 pro. It would depend on what types of things you’re doing (3D, super challenging footage with a lot of motion graphics, etc.).

Great video but I thought the m3 went back to the multi chip ssd so it’s just as fast as the m1. I think m2 was the only one with a slow base model

I don't really know what to choose.
the MacBook M3 Air 16GB/512GB (€1,760) or the MacBook M3 Pro 8GB/512GB (€1,850). I would mainly use it to edit photos on Photoshop. The better screen quality and the SD card slot on the PRO model is a big advantage for me. Or am I better off with the Air M3 16GB/512GB because it has more RAM? I use a Nikon D750 and edit an average of 500 photos per year. So not a heavy user I guess? My current laptop is an Acer nitro 5 (8GB/512GB) from 2019
You definitely need more then 8gb ram

Please help me, I’m definitely buying a pro for my college life 4+ years. I can’t decide between m3 pro 14 inch or 16 inch. Or get a refurbished for 100 - 200 cheaper, or maybe go all in on one laptop we are looking at a budget off 3650 Aud (saved up, dived deep into the pockets). But really could use advice. I also won’t and don’t have an external monitor - don’t plan on getting one. So what laptop (size, processor), what specs and why not, what colour.
It comes down to what you'll use it for and how you view portability vs larger display.
I pretty much always have the 16" with me because I have it in a bookbag, but it's still heavier. If you don't need the M3 (pro) I would see how inexpensively I could get the M1 Pro or M2 Pro. Hope this helps.

Is it worth it to sell a M2 8/256 13inch MacBook Air 13 for 950 dolars (when converted from TRY) put 850 dolars more on top of it and get a M3 16/512 14inch MacBook Pro? The Pro is on sale right now I’m tempted to upgrade but I’m not quite sure.
I have an M1 pro and a M2 Air and to be fair, day to day they feel equally as snappy for work and after hours content consumption. Speakers and screen are better but they M2 Air are still excellent.
@@shaun1900Thanks for the reply. I also thought about that and speakers are not a big factor for me I always use Airpods so it only comes to the screen side. To be honest that’s not worth +800$ on top of my Air’s resell value. I don’t think 16/512 is necessary for me as storage goes I don’t use the 256gb of storage either so only the 16gb ram could be nice but I didn’t have any trouble with 8gb of ram till this day. If my mac has a buyer than I’ll think but for now to upgrade is not in my board.
@@sarpgunaydin the base model is excellent, I think consumers get sucked into the endless vortex of CZcams reviewers, saying you need 16GB and 512 because they are creators and to show everybody what RAM monsters they are.

I feel you need to advise your channel users, that generally 8gb and 256gb ssds run slower and it’s best to get 16gb ram and 512gb ssds

Keyboards are way better on Windows Laptop compared to Macbook Air. e.g. , HP Spectre 14 2024. Not sure why everyone keeps calling Macbook air keyboard as best. It has very shallow travel keys

I'm currently debating between buying a Mac mini or a MacBook Pro. Would there be a significant performance difference between a Mac mini (M2 Pro with 10‑core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD) & a 14" MacBook Pro (M3 Pro with 11‑core CPU, 14‑core GPU, 18 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD)? Should I shell out $200 more and upgrade the 14" MacBook Pro to a 12‑core CPU, 18‑core GPU? My main use case would be to edit RAW photos & high-bitrate 4K videos in Davinci resolve.. I intend to buy the Lumix S5IIX.. so the system need to be able to handle 6k open-gate H265 and Prores recordings with ease.. Your help is greatly appreciated 😊
Edit: Also debating between 18 GB vs 36 GB RAM for editing, grading and exporting long 4K videos.

I am currently using my iPad Pro for everything (which I find extremely annoying) and it isn’t fast enough to load my files on my external hard drive. I am looking for something that will be speedy in that regard.
Thank you for the kind words. It really depends on what you’re doing. Most people can just get a MacBook Air (just pick the right size for you) and it’ll do everything they need.
What files are you using? Are they on external ssd? What apps do you use?
@@TechGearTalk thanks for the response. I am using a portable Samsung SSD and it is mostly photo and video files. I use the regular apps, Microsoft office apps, and Final Cut Pro.

So where it gets a little trick is Final Cut Pro. If you're not using massive video files with challenging codecs and you're not doing a ton of motion graphics, the Air will work great. There is no question that the Pro is more powerful - but it's more bulky and bigger - and I try to account for portability.
Coming from an iPad Pro - this should be a much better workflow. Make sure that you get enough RAM 16 or 24 and you should be good to go!

I wish someone would speak about the slits on the bottom part of the sides. Can debris go through them? At store, i noticed that it can cut fingers or lap since its somewhat sharp.

I think the MacBook Pro is the way to go. More ports on that. So you can plug in more things into that. Well, without carrying around apators. They're all expensive anyway, its a Mac and its Apple. I do video editing, so I use a beefed up M3 Pro processor and outfitted it with 36GB of memory. I kept the storage at the base 512GB of storage, I just use external drives for more storage.
