Hey Matthew, thanks for the 10 & 12 bolt rear-end rebuild tutorial. About a year or two ago I purchased the tutorial and it was well worth it. Rebuilt a 8.5 for my 69 Camaro, and the build came out awesome! Good luck with the rest of your You tubing adventures...
I purchased the video and watched it. It's an excellent video and very detailed. Those of you who are complaining about him not showing the whole video just buy the video, and you will not be disappointed. The only tool that seems like a stretch for me is the torque wrench with dial based on the price. Is there an alternative compared to the one you show in the tool list? Other than that, it's a great video and very detailed along with the parts list and tool list. Great job. 👍🏽 👍🏽
Thanks for the feedback! You could possibly use a fish scale on a length of bar stock. Calculate torque F x D.
GOSH DAMN... I would have subscribed if YOU DIDN'T FAST FORWARD THE VIDEO.....
Great work!
Thanks!
Hell yeah I used that stuff all the time
Could have been the top video on YT for a diff rebuild. Could have gotten more subs and even more Patreon customers, but nope.
Will any of the 12 bolt parts work with a 10 bolt rear end? I was given a 12 bolt, but the housing is so rusty that I'm afraid to use anything but the inner parts.
I don't think so.
I appreciate the video. You fast forwarded the best part, the patterns and the changes made.
I agree.
I followed the link...it's about the money...fine, I get it.
Thanks ,video isn't expensive either it helps a lot do you know what size a 1988 k2500 with six lug axle would be I'm thinking 9.5?
14 bolt 10.5" I believe.
@@HTMR Thank you so much!
Can you keep your old gears and just upgrade your carrier to a posi unit?
No
I have a weird question for you. I've got a 12 bolt with c-clip eliminators and I'm looking for a housing to go back to a standard 12 bolt. How much different from this video is that going to be.
Well this video starts with a stock housing, and I had it converted to ford big ends. Anyway, video covers c clip removal, axle bearing and seal removal/install. If the video does not answer your Q's, then ask for a refund.
This video aside - The set up process is the same. Any C clip eliminator kits I've installed required trimming off a piece of the housing at the wheel seal. If you want to go back to stock with C clips then you may need to find a housing. All that being said there may be kits out there now that don't require the housing to be trimmed. I've never seen them. In any case, your gear setup is done with the axles out of the housing (and leaning against the wall).lol
I would imagine most of the people complaining about you fast forwarding over the important parts can't rebuild a rearend even with a video. They obviously can't listen to directions where you say to purchase the full video. I have not purchased the video, but may after doing a little more research. It seems like a great video.
***For all the idiots out there that didnt watch the beginning of the video***
THIS IS A SAMPLE VIDEO.
If you want the full Hour and a half How to video, you must pay.
OMG! You mean it's not free!!??
No! you slacker. This guy took HIS time and HIS experience to create a very well put together How to video. I'll gladly pay the $30 that he is charging for lifetime access to it.
If you wanted something for free, move to another country.
I applaud this guy for sharing his knowledge for a very fair price.
Purchase made. Thank you
Okay, I'm done. 😊
LOL...thanks for understanding and the support!
Nice vid ,,I Have a question,,, I have a 87 IROC 10 Bolt posi ,,, Do they have clutch packs to replace ? The posi is getting weak on it
Remove rear cover and take a look at the carrier. If eaton style, then yes it has a clutch pack.
@@HTMR Ok will do thank you
I get it, you want passive income. But when CZcams already plagues your video with 5 adds (that’s also money being made) AND you want everyone to pay for the video how money hungry can you be lol
I have pumped out 200 videos in 8yrs. 180 of them are free. CZcams ad money is not as much as you thing. Hope you understand.
I'm not sure that's true. Gavin at itsjusta6 has been blowing through money by building high hp vehicles and giving away cars. Ads and sponsors are letting that guy live his dream life. 🤷♂️
Do you remember what the pinion shim was on the 2.73
No but .032 is a good starting point.
WHY THE FAST FORWARD ON THE MOST IMPORTANT AREA OF BUILD , TIGHT SLEVE , TOURQE SPECS AND SO ON ..
Because he just wants your money directly rather than through ad revenue so he makes more... thats why he makes it so you HAVE to buy it for the actual useful information..
I already purchased and can't find it on my computer? I'm going to buy again because I need it now and if you can cred me that would be fine Thanks
Email me ASAP and I can help.
I am not a novice to building cars at all, however I have always trusted my differentials to be built by someone reputable. For my most current build I have been debating on rebuilding my self or have a shop do it. I purchased your video and I am blown away how thorough you are in the videos and how well you explain yourself. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the compliments Aaron!!!! Good luck with the rebuild and let me know if you need anything else.
Nice video
Putting ones face level with a press is a good way to end up in a hospital.
Safety glasses are taught in all classroom and shop manuals.
True.
Dont need to pay are plenty of others for free.
fast forwarded the only parts that matter
lmao at the money grubbing sales pitch. hey guys just go over to eric the car guy he put up a nice detailed video for free that you dont have to pay to watch the actual assembly part!! lol good luck with the sales
Yeah I watched that video and he didn't even do a drive pattern check, or carrier bearing preload check. This video walks you through much more.
The most important part he hurried past
The hole instalation was in fast forward, l.o.l
I wish you would have explained it while doing it, Watching does not tell you why you did certain things, other wise it gives a basic Ideal.
says he is making an "in depth video" then speeds through everything.. lol what a joke
sweet now ill just go to another channel on youtube and watch what you want us to pay for lol
Just so you know I have watched all of those and this video is more thorough. Those other videos don't check coast pattern or carrier bearing preload. But hey you might like whiney gears.
I call that long bolt the Jesus bolt as in Jesus don’t break
Wow i expected the best rear diff rebuild video i ever seen!!! What a joke....
the most important part is the install. screwed it up with high speed and absolute zero explanation . RUINED what could have been a great tutorial.
Why don't you go back and watch the beginning where I explain why.
@@HTMR. just plain money hungry. man why would anyone pay you for information that's free on youtube is beyond me? but I guess their is a fool born every second.
@@Mr.BodyByFisher This tutorial is way more thorough than any free video. If you want your gears to whine then go ahead and watch those videos. Good luck.
