Liam Brady was an artist. He was one of those really gifted lefties that has created the Lefty Genius genre
Liam Brady was a brilliant player, John Giles is a legend, two of Irelands absolute best
One of the three greatest players ever to play for Arsenal along with Dennis Bergkamp, and Thierry Henry
Affection from all irish fans not just some
One absolute legend talking about another
Lived behind my granny's house in Whitehall, got to meet him, also got to see him play testimonial v west Germany and Jack took him off after bout 20 mins very poor from Jack, legend
Brady was one of the greatest football players to have ever played for arsenal
I will always remember Liam taking on Brazil at Landsdowne Road, and scoring the winning goal. If he had been Brazilian they would have written songs about him. But we know the legend was a Dub!
Brady was most definitely a player for the big occasion.
My footballing hero, and I ended up as his postman for a while…..
Always have Brady at number 1 did it at Italy when it was the hardest league in the world. I’m always torn between John and Roy for number 2. Then I’d go McGrath then Robbie as my top 5. Honourable mentions for Irwin whelan who was shafted like Liam by jack.
That summary of what great players touches do was SO good. Spatial awareness is largely innate.
i think liam was the most skillful irish player...
Without a doubt he was the most skillful.
Xx
Brady one or the best 10 of all time , a joy of a playmaker, what Jack did was a crime though all the good things he did, he took Alan McLaughlin/ Gary Waddock/ John Byrne / David Kelly instead of him. I don't count Bernie Slaven because Slaven was the in form player at the time at the perfect age, a bit like Schillaci that's why it was weird that Aldridge / Cascarino weren't scoring and Slaven was not introduced
