My favorite part was him not telling his life story for 20 minutes before telling us how to do something that takes 2 minutes. This is why he has 10M followers, because he doesn't f-around trying to chase the YT Algorithm like all these ridiculous influencers.
Lmfaoo 😂😂
dude wrote a whole manifesto
So dang true
So true!!
I'm not usually one to comment negatively but, there's nothing I hate more than the excessive talking. I'm like, I'm ready to do this now.
Rare time where the first thing I click on is 100% what I am looking for. Thanks for the video
Litterly same 2 months messing with this msd ignition box and coil and I’m finally getting to start it and find i need new and gapped spark plugs
Exactly the same for me ! I even just bought that exact sparkplug tool .
Thank you
Even a Grandma understands!
Came here to say the same thing. Thank you!
When chrisfix is the top search result, no other video needs to be watched.
Didnt even now this was chris fix. Mans always had the skill now got the presentation on point. What an absolute champ
Thanks!
dude i love how you dont waste time over explaining shit. simple, well explained and short. My suzuki thanks you
"push gently" hands tremor from maximum exertion.
Chase Danyi lol
Yeah I had trouble closing it because I was scared to push hard and break it but you really have to squeeze the shit out of it
Carefully is probably a better word : )
Being gentle isn’t as easy as you think
hahaha for real
Thank you again! This is why I always check with you first: I’ve always gapped my spark plugs by forcing the wedge in. I honestly thought the hole on the round tool was just for hanging it up, so tonight for the first time in my life I gapped my spark plugs correctly. Awesome!
Same here 😅
Aha! There's more to the gapping tool than meets the eye. I can't believe that in all my years of hobby mechanics, going on 24 years, no one has ever showed me this. I knew that a gapping tool measured the gap of spark plugs but never had i seen how to use one to adjust the gap. So simple.
I always wondered what that round thing was as a kid. My father had one on his keychain for decades.
Pretty cool! Now you know!
He never showed you how to change spark plugs huh?
I'm 36 I just learned ☹️
I thought I was your father.
@@makesense9549 I just learned, at 20
Thanks so much. Grandma learned how to gap a plug for the string mower. Yahoo! Thanks again!! ❣️
I take care of my parent's yard and I've used the lawn mower so much it's starting to give me issues. Never thought I'd be learning about spark plugs. Thanks for showing us how to use that tool! Made it very easy to understand.
Glad the video was helpful
11yrs ago you had no idea you'd be helping me learn this shit. I appreciate you after all this time bro.
Exactly what i was looking for. First timer changing spark plugs and you made it look a lot easier than i thought it was!
I’ve done this many times through out the years. I just wanted to see how you did it. Thanks, to the point. Your videos are excellent.
you forgot to say ,hey guys chriz fix here
LOL! Seems like very video "How to" guys do they do start off with that huh?
everything pre-2014 i've noticed this :P
I wish people would learn how to write coherent sentences.

Thank you for this post!! You got RIGHT TO THE POINT!! Watched 4 other "How to change a spark plug" to get a refresher course (it's been 30 years since I did that) and the other 4 merely edited out the gapping part. They actually edited out a lot! SMH
Chris Fix's Spark Plug Gap tutorial is the best tutorial ever! Speech not too fast not too slow. Chris covered ALL information and he didn't worry if he didn't know the correct name for something as we all got it! Wouldn't it be awesome if everyone here was a Chris Fix?
I didn't know you could use that tool to adjust the plug I thought it was strictly measurement. Thanks for the great videos Chris, keep them coming! I've been watching all of them just to see what I can learn, and you always have something I didn't know, even in some of the easier projects.
+G-Man Glad you learned something new!
You actually got a reply from him. You’re so lucky.
@@hxd9321 bro this comment and reply was 6yrs ago
I never knew you needed to gap the spark plus lol
Simple, brief, and to the point! Very good.
+Crotchety Ol'Coot thanks
@@chrisfix can I gap iridium plugs with same tool
I would just like to thank this person this is the first time I've actually looked a problem and I was told exactly what I wanted to know the first time
I used this information today on my lawn mower. I’ve had the gap gauge for years, and never used it. Thanks for the info!
thanks for the info bro! for some reason i thought it was going to be hard and i was intimidated. Now i see how easy it is! thank you
Thanks a lot!
AWESOME job of explaining this!! I think just about anyone could do this correctly after first watching your video! JOB WELL DONE AND THANKS!!
Just gapped my spark plugs for my bike this riding season, the first time i've ever done it myself and im psyched to install them now, THANKS CHRIS!
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
@@chrisfix Its been a great month, thank you too you and your video!
We’re they iridium ? I’m hearing you are not supposed to Gal them - but I have a 72 Chevy 350/350
With HEI DISTRIBUTOR and it says to gap at 45°- I have been up Copper core in the Past and I always get them at 45°
So what do I do ?????
Here we are in 2022 and this video is still solid/ coming in handy 🙏👏🙌
I try to make all of my videos timeless!
Fast, straight forward and exactly what the title says. If only more youtube videos were like this.
Yo, you might not see my comment but you and"Eric The Car Guy" are my go to people. Every time I get stuck on something, your the first tutorial on CZcams that pops up. 👌👌👌
@chrisfix just saw this video, got to say your videos have come a long way in 7 years. I've always loved your enthusiasm thanks for making such great videos!!!
Thanks a lot Steven!
"push gently" tries to destroy it hahahahaha
Saudi Biker lmao! All shaking and whatnot
Xavier lmao 😂
Saudi Biker Thanks for the informative video brother!
I just regapped my plugs today - and it's pretty hard to push that ground electrode down. I would estimate it takes at least 40 or 50 lb.
Excellent video and description. Precise, concise, and to the point. Thanks Chris exactly what I was hoping to find!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I’m changing my spark plugs for the first time. This really help.
Of course I had the random curiosity of how to gap a spark plug, and ChrisFix has a video on it! Cheers from your fellow New Jersey friend. If you see this, hope you have a great New Year
Excellent explanation of how to gap the spark plugs and why even though they may be pre-gapped. ♥
Amazing video. I haven't done this since auto class in high school hit the second I saw the tool it all came back to me lol. Great video.
Chris big thanks for this video, for YEARS i have seen these tools and have always wondered what are they for and now I know.
+Papa Gleb Glad you learned something new!
Thanks for your help Chris- Please continue to make videos. You are one of my favorite channels!!
Thanks Dan! Will do! The next video is awesome!
When in doubt..Chris's it out! This guy is amazing. Thank u
As a perfectionist this took me quite a while to get it perfect. I don't imagine if I hired a mechanic he'd be that precise about it!
Also wouldn't take someone with experience as long to do it as you did, as well as doing as good of a job. You get what you pay for, some shops that are more quality and performance oriented will take the extra care and charge accordingly. I'd rather do it myself too considering how easy it is on most cars
@@X11CHASE yeah that makes sense.the peace of mind of doing it right ourselves is worth the effort in my opinion.
I'm somewhat of a perfectionist myself and with OCD as well so gapping plugs is annoying for me lol
Anyone notice as time passes by ChrisFix gets more more hyper? it went from "Today...we're going to..." and then, "hey guys, chris fix here." and now... "HEY GUYS! CHRIS FIX HERE!! TODAY!!" lol
This was exactly what I needed, I appreciate the help!
Great and simple explanation. Thanks Chris!
Thank you Chris. Your're the best, as always!
Thanks man never used a gap tool like that before. Helpful video.
Very nice video. To the point and contains all the relevant information. Thank you!
Today will be the first day I have done this properly. Thank you.
Exactly the information I needed. Thanks for the video!
I love chris fix before he got super excited. Just such a funny juxtaposition for me
First video of Chris' I click on without the "Hey Guys, ChrisFix here"😂
love that "push gently" = full send
This is some OG Chris Fix right here.
thank you bro that was so f****** easy I'm sick and tired of all these other videos that they talk their s*** but they don't show you what you need to know thank you bro I appreciate that
“Make sure not to touch that area” lol rubs it dozens of times haha jk man. Love your channel been following for years ❤️
THANK YOU! I was worried it would be difficult but super easy. Thanks
Excellent remeber coming to you’re channel to have a lil breef over the subject or lesson we would learn in auto classs a few years ago never knew I would come back just like any engineer doctore or nurse ect there’s always sun thing new to learn it just never stops 😂❤
I should have watched this video before changing my spark plugs...
+alfredobrown now you know
lol did all 8 and now I'm sitting here feeling like a fool lol.
Me too lol
@@burgerking220 well u can take them out and do it
@alfredobrown I honestly didn’t think it matters until a friend of mine told me lol... now I’m too lazy to even go back to the process 😂
great video as always chris I love your channel!
I didn't realize it was this simple to gap a spark plug!! Thank you Chris!!
+MegaDoubleU - Gaming No problem!
I did not even know I should've gapped sparks in the first place. Now, I learned something.
An oldie but goodie, keep up the great videos.
Thanks, will do!
I changed mine yesterday in my Altima and although the slight shaking of my car is completely gone (thankfully!) I now have a slight odor of gasoline coming through the vents when the heater it on. I knew this wasn't a coincidence and I read it "could be the gap" or the plugs are loose. (Yes, or something worse) I know I did the proper tightening, but I failed to pre check the gap like a moron. Dumb...dumb! Yeah I shouldn't have trusted "pre-gapped" I have to re do this tomorrow in the 20º wind chill nonsense. Thanks for this, I have the same tool.
Back when Chris Fix when was Christopher Fix. This is an oldie but goodie video.
Wow you’ve come a long way since then!!
Perfect reference video. Concise and informative
and once again chris saves the day, thanks man.
Of course!
Some guy just changed my oil he told me about this. I changed my SPs and never knew about this thanks 😀
Thanks for the quick and detailed explanation
“Gently put it in”
That’s what she said
Now she says stick it hard and slam it hard
Great video .first time replacing thse kind of sparks
Thank you for this excellent video! I need to re-gap for an old Honda MB5 2-stroke motorcycle. I had no idea how to measure it, and do it properly.
AudiophileTubes You are welcome. I am glad the video helped you!
Thanks. Straight to the point.
Thanks for a quick video with great info
Great video as always! Thank you tons!
Dude I was looking for this video. Thanks a lot man
WHATS UP GUYS CHRISFIX HERE! Dang you've come far man!
straight to the point. thank-you!
Thank you, a big help! You are totally right about checking the gap. I bought a set of 4 plugs yet 2 out of the 4 were out of the recommended gap spec.
Thanks ChrisFix
+Jeppprox No problem!
This is good for someone with no experience trying to change there spark plugs. Would recommend video.
Thanks Jessie
Jessie Keeton I would recommend that you learn the differences among "THERE", "THEIR" and "THEY'RE" you moron. Why do they let people like you have computers and automobiles .In Africa,, you's still be in a cave. This is ALL because ran the slave trade and brought you here.
+asaber11203 You seem pretty intent to criticize every little detail about other people's comments. But you are ignorant. It shows through your lack of tolerance for anyone who doesn't conform to your standards.
If you can't get over that someone can make grammar, spelling, punctuation, or sentence structure mistakes. Then you cannot spread anything but ignorance and hate.
10 years later and still helping out
Thank you. I needed a refresher
Sweet! Exactly what I needed.
Good video man very informational. Thank you very much
Thanks for your videos man !
I've read several posts online that say this type of tool has notoriously wrong measurement scale as much as .06" compared to digital calipers, that's way too much for me. I guess IF you do this comparison between this gauge and caliper and now the variance you could use it taking that into account
Chris fix is awesome where have I been? I just subscribed thanks for the content
Old school ChrisFix!!!!
Great info., thanks for making this video. 👏🏼
Lol. I clicked on the video without paying attention what is the channel it is at.
I though "damn. this dude is trying too hard to sound like Chris fix".
And only then I noticed that it's actually him
Finally got my first project car thanks for all these tutorials u have done

Excellent video. Thank you.
thanks for sharing ... good info
Learned something new today :)
Very informative. Thanks!
This is such a great video.
Huh, I didn't realize that hole is how you are supposed to widen the gap; I've always just pushed it further along the measurement ramp. I've had so many of those spark plug gapping tools like seen in the video, because they are cheap and I always misplace them! :D
This really helped!! Thanks
haha I always see those things at autozone counters and wondered what they were. And now I know and I need to make trip to get one.
Cheers mate. Helped alot.
Well done! Thank you!!
I can't believe I never knew what that round part was for, I've been "expanding" mine wrong since day 1. fml
I just kept pushing it around the circle lol until gapped smh
@@717Chris same here. Wow.
@@717Chris is that bad for the plugs? i only did it to one of them before i came here to make sure i was doing it right and now im doing them like this.
i have to say. with the internet around there should be no excuse as to why you fucked up. if your doing your own mechanical work on your car. spend some time researching how to properly do that. and next time your in an auto zone or pep boys and see something you don't recognize. ask what it is and what it does. knowledge is power.
and yes gaping your plugs too much will cause a miss fire. not good for your engine.
Hey ChrisFix. First off, great videos. Keep up the excellent work!
What are your thoughts on four point or gapless plugs? I'm trying to make our 2008 Fusion perform a little better.
+Matt Hoffman Thanks Matt. Go with a single point platinum plug. I will be testing spark plugs by the 4 point plugs are a gimmick. They block the spark from the gas.
Great video really helpful
I appreciate you my man !!!
