Sweden did show it's domination by running the event like a fascist state. Worst Eurovision I have ever seen when it comes to organisation and the music was probably the best ever. And you can say it was just the EBU, but that is also pretty Swedish with a Swedish head
As an American, I will never understand Eurovission... it seems like the cheeses thing to ever exist. Like cheap daytime TV (that we have tons of here) but everyone makes fun of in America... but it seems like people have actual national pride and prestige in it?
It's actually got a lot of history tied to it. Mainly, it was in part to help unite Europe in the post-WWII era. And what united people better than music?
As a european I will never understand american culture in general 😂 Guns.. ads for medicine.. insane insurance.. people sue for the dumbest reasons and get away with it.. malls instead of a cozy city centre with nice architecture.. two party political system with sinile old men for president.. What tv does america have that is actually fun? Look at how many great panel shows we have, you have what.. oprah? Dr phil? All about drama and money. Yes the movies are cool, but only if they shoot in Europe 😂

As far as insurance, most states have systems where the poor pay nothing, everyone else gets it paid through there job and self employed have to buy from a private company, leads to better service and healthcare but even so I wish we had a more egalitarian system with single payer for all augmented by private for those who wish. Medical ads, I guess weird.. but free speech, why ban them from advertising, seems a waste since you still need prescription. People suing, I guess is our version of the nanny state, over there you get fined by the government or arrested for saying something mean on the internet, here there is a slightly higher chance you get sued? Not sure specifically what you're talking about, if a big corporation wrongs you, shouldn't you be able to make them pay? The Mall/City center thing makes me very angry, we still do have those many places, and ysed to have them everywhere like in Europe and they were stolen from us by something called "Urban Renewal" which happened in the late 1950s through 1980s and where large sections of our cities most dense, urban, walkable, historic places were destroyed purposely by the government (it was destruction if buildings on par with the bombing in europe in WWII) inspired by people like European Socialist Le Corbusier... (he also tried to have Paris bulldozed but was stoped luckily) but the ideology infected our government at all levels and our beatiful cities and their architecture were destroyed for ugly towers, parkinglots, malls, etc... ironically the poverty in europe after WWII saved you guys from the same fate, it is a shame, but what you dsscribe was never American culture until the last 50 or so years and it was inflicted on us by the government....
