It may sound like it is because of the instruments but the lyrics are about being so disillusioned from the monotony of life and feeling like you have to pretend to be someone you’re not. It’s literally about being trapped in a skin that doesn’t even feel like your own and feeling like your true self will never see the light of day. It’s still a fucking awesome song though and easy to jam to.

I think it’s because everyone has their subjective take on what a piece of music means to them, I wouldnt really fit JFitP into optimistic category myself, but what it definitely does is express a sort of dopamine rush that you get when something important happens in your life or you finally understand something that has been bugging you for years, but at the same time that something doesnt have to be positive at all. And in this sense the ending of joker fits the track perfectly, as Arthur finally embraces the chaos and his villain persona
i’ve never seen a better clip selection in one of the videos. i hope you’re proud of yourself this is a work of insurmountable genius, an artistic triumph of the highest order

It's all fucked up, all loud, moaning and schizophrenic, it's the most beautiful thing music has ever offered me. When I hear that song I move weird, I moan weird, nothing matters I teleport completely into a noisy mental dimension that I love
