The Long Journey - A Syrian Family's Europe Passage

- After explosions rock their home in Kobane, Syria, a young family set out on a perilous journey in search of safety in northern Europe.
“Our life was destroyed. We saw many people slaughtered in front of our eyes. We don't dare go back,” Naleen said, huddled under a tree.
Dara and Naleen were among the thousands who fled Kobane, the Kurdish village on Syria's border with Turkey, which was overrun by militants.
It was on the beach of the small fishing village of Skala Sikaminias, under the light of the Church of the Mermaid Madonna, that we first met Dara and Naleen and their family. Like so many others, they had nothing but their mobile phones, some money, a bag for the children and the clothes on their backs.

The Syrians are different than the ones that come from North Africa or South Asia(Bangladesh, Pakistan) they come with families their country is war torn they are all very peaceful and humble people. Most of them don't want to leave their country and tried hard to get help from their fellow Arab countries but only Levant countries help them not the rich gulf area ones so they have no option to come to Europe. Some of them also went to Addis Ababa Ethiopia which is where I am from and their already known for their hard work because they started small businesses like Restaurants and things like that, so please don't say anything bad to these people, they are one of the bravest and humble people I have seen and I hope one day and I know they will rebuild a Greater Syria. Long Live Syria and their people.
We've just had a few Syrian Refugees sent to prison, one for 18 years because they decided to do multiple child rapes.
I can't imagine My mother and myself running for our lives in a strange place with nothing but the cloths we are wearing. With no guarantee of protection. What a helpless feeling is an extreme understatement. I would hope that someone somewhere understood what was happening to us and reach out to help us at our most vulnerable moment. I think some haters if put in a position to engage with such people might open up their hearts and picture themselves as the refugee's.

Very awfull situation, but, com on , they search 100% rich countries. They except even the humiliation for this reason.

Seems a little cowardly to me to leave the women and children behind to face Assad and the Russians, or ISIS, while the young men that claim to love their country run away to other countries.

I have been volunteering at the medical checkup stations in Munich (Germany) back then. There have been so incredible lots of children of pre-school age (but also above 6 years). I still feel very sorry for what those people went through. This shouldn't have happened in 21st century. Tragically, situation has even worsened. :( I really feel ashamed for my government.

Whenever I think about Syria, my heart feels heavy. They had everything and now they've lost it all. Many's relatives are still in syria and the death is always hovering above their heads. Think about the kids who lost their parents, who had to lose their childhood. Parents who had to bury their children. Why in this time they have to go through it all? It's too cruel.
