It is challenging offering military advice, especially when your mind is no longer really in the military
very cool julian, you have helped a lot of people with your words and your videos. we love and support you brother on all of your quests. you're definitely an inspiration.
I appreciate that!
Good luck with all your future endeavors! Thank you for your service, and happy Veterans and Military Families Month 🥰
Ty!
Thank you for everything Julian. This time last year my son was at Cape May. Your videos literally helped me during that time. I have watched all of them and greatly appreciate your content. Good luck with your future endeavors.
That is awesome! Ty
Congrats, Julian! I’ve been working this year to leave the corporate world and join the Coast Guard as an officer. Your videos have been incredibly helpful and I’ll continue to follow your journey. Best of luck and keep up the great work.
Ty and congrats!
Good luck with your business! I am glad to hear you are able to do what you want to do in life because of the military and how you were able to set yourself up. I am currently in the process of waiting to go to MEPS. All of your information has really pushed me in looking into the coast guard more and choosing to go with the coast guard over any other branch. I appreciate everything you do and can't wait to look into your other CZcams accounts!
TY! Best of luck!
Thank You for sharing your experience I can’t wait to see the new charter on of your life. I glad that young people can learn how to move from Military life to civil society again as a veteran you teaching something that they need to learn not every one make it the way you do but you doing awesome.
Ty!
Thank you so much! You provided so much helpful information to me and everyone of your viewers. Thanks to your book, I'm going into bootcamp Nov 29th with more knowledge than I wouldve had! Good luck on your future endeavors!
Glad it was helpful!
@@militaryjourneymen Just found your page from a search. Trying to catch up. Thanks' for sharing your world, insight, and experiences. My son not to long started boot camp. Trying to find the benefit's you spoke too and transitioning from active service into private life.
Congrats and thanks for your service and sharing your journey. I am an old ex-coastie and my son is now in his 2nd yr in the CG and has your exact same interests and goals. I hope he can gain inspiration and follow your example. Good luck and keep doing what you are doing👍🇺🇸👍
That is awesome!
Congrats!! I’m in aviation, and want to fly helis but also get into real estate. Your videos are super helpful!!
Congrats from a fellow NOSC Duty Group 3 member, we met briefly at North Lab!! I separate in less than 90 days and was able to do SkillBridge, excited to transition soon!!
DG 3 was the best! Best of luck!
Love your videos!
USCG Is my goal!
Everything I look for this branch has it.
Both a Military branch and a Law enforcement agency. Plus basic Firefighting in bootcamp. It's an all in one Force. Especially if you're in your late twenties you can still make that timeframe smaller. I bought your book thank you ⚓👮♂️👨🚒
I think your channel has been very informative and well done. It really helped my son make his decision to join the Coast Guard. Thank you for all your videos.
Ty
Keep doing your thing! Congratulations on all your success! I wish I was able to talk to you more at A-School or DC where I'm also stationed. But either way big ups and continued success to you in all your future endeavors! I'll stick around, would love to pick your brain about things sometime!
TY!
We love you Julian! Wish you the best of luck on your next journey ❤
Godspeed IT2, your content has no less than inspired and guided me on my own personal journey so it feels like it has come full circle. The quality of your content leaves some deep shoes to fill as a CG youtuber. Hoping to also one day achieve that coveted financial freedom; congrats and look forward to what you have planned next

Good luck man! May you have fair winds and following seas.
Thanks! You too Ben!
Thank you for your service.
Thanks for all your help bro much appreciated
Happy to help
Excited for you. I am sticking around for sure!
I appreciate that!
Hey Julian! Just wanna say congrats on your future endeavors. I began watching your videos on CG boot camp and purchasing your book before I went through boot camp myself. It helped me tremendously and I cannot thank you enough. I have also began my career going to IT A school and it has been an experience and I would love to know more about your experience as an IT and being stationed in the DC area.
Thats awesome! Thank you for the recommendation as well
How'd it go?
Wow Julian! I never realized you were in the real estate game. Except you are doing it way better lol. So far I have 6 doors and a camper airbnb. Between my husband and I, we've only used VA loans. We house hack while we live in the home we purchase for a year then move and rent it out. You are truly inspirational!
Currently AD and this is inspiring, definitely trying to take advantage of my time in to create the life I want to
You can do it!
Great video. Best of luck on the outside 🫡👍
Thanks 👍
I just want to thank you. You inspired me to join and funny enough you fixed my email when I submitted a CGFIXit ticket that would not send and receive emails thank you once again.
Glad I could help! lol
I found this channel not too long ago mainly because I have a son, 17, who is looking very seriously at joining the CG. Even though some of the videos are a little old theyhave been super helpful. Hope to continue following your journey and I hope your videos might also be a help to my son.
It took decades but after taking all the flak and taking in the good and bad I finally put it together. Joining the guard is great but not without a risk. Your son should read Ten Hours Until Dawn before he joins. If it still stirs his blood he should definitely join. And dont sweat boot. The tougher boot is the more it will prepare you and your shipmates for the occasional rigors of CG duty - and what happened to the Blackthorn (it went down the night I rolled into boot). And yeah - I still miss the bikini patrol and clanking of the sailboat masts in harbor.
I joined when I was older at 29 and I wish I joined earlier. I'm now 36 and own two homes with three kids. I don't come from money, only USCG. It is an excellent service. Let me know if you want anymore information for your son.
Best of luck 🤞🏼
Just graduated with Victor-202 company! Your one of the reasons I was able to be so successful in Bootcamp, thank you.
Great to hear! Ty!
Just graduated with yankee 202 yesterday! Congrats shipmate
@@jcurrran7256 Ayy yankee! We stood watch with you guys. Where are you stationed?
@@famposiom I’m stationed at small boat station yaquina bay in Newport Oregon!! What about you?
@@jcurrran7256 I’m stationed on an 87’ cutter crocodile in Fort Myers Beach Florida!
Best of luck to you.
Ty!
Could you do a video on intel specialist in the coast guard?
70-74 and out. GI Bill was put to us buying three homes and a college degree. I hated the Guard but had great travels and life long friends. Got me out of Vietnam.
RIP Charlie Bucko and the crew of Can Do.
Used my GI bill to get my CDL and signed my DD-214 today
Whats the name of the other channel? I can’t find the name or link
Becuz of you my son was accepted and went through AIM training becuz of information you provided. . He was being recruited by the Coast Guard for tennis but decided to take a D1 Scholarship for tennis. I am a veteran( USAF) but got out after 6 years on active duty. Was hoping he would go through the Academy but his decision. Thanks for your service , utilize the benefits you have earned such as GI Bill, Chapter 31, etc. Many blessing.
Ty!
I leave for cape may next week going in to be a BM what’s your thoughts on BM and if I place high in BM school I can pick where I want to be stationed also not much info about Bahrain any thoughts
Check out my tier list of best jobs in the CG. Give my review there. GL!

I'm in IT currently and was wondering what's that program you mentioned for transition from miltary to civilian with the possibility of keeping rank whats that called?
Temporary Separation (Temp Sep)
@@militaryjourneymen thanks I appreciate it
keep killin it stan the man
Which countries did you visit with the USCG Miyata?
I stayed in the US with the CG.
Great videos. Do you know anything about the $50,000 signing bonus being offered by the Coast Guard. And the age increase to 42? Thanks.
I have not heard! Sounds interesting though!
I'm already stuck in, I'm not unsubbing
SEMPER PARATUS!👍✌️🖖🇺🇸
Sell your property assets by the time you hit mid fifties. Trust me, you will thank me later. You will also wish you finished your 20 - active or reserve. There is no other paid position that allows you to get a pension in 20 and also provides a no cost, fueled, crewed, 41 or 44 foot patrol boat for bikini patrol. Plus you just can't get coast guard diesel fuel tainted coffee anywhere else.
How many years did you serve?
Almost 9
1980 Quebec 107. I left with about the same. Should have stayed reserve. Now I want to retire and am hamstrung with rental properties and investments I failed to sell when the getting was ripe. Financial freedom is way overated.@@militaryjourneymen
There are many jobs out there better than the Coast Guard. Coast Guard leadership and mentoring is non-existent, useless missions, very low pay, kindergarten level A schools compared to civilian formal training for the same jobs, emotionally immature leadership, chiefs who work only 75% of the time and are never at work, not well rounded individuals, no job requires critical thinking skills, old broken aircraft, favoritism, no communication to subordinates and for people new to a position, laze faire leadership. It’s a sack of shat compared to more formal schooling and training on the outside.
Sounds like someone got reverted and bounced. As for me - I support tougher boot - makes better shipmates. RIP Charley bucko.
