  • This line of collectible fighters has been very hit or miss. Some have been excellent releases while others were better suited to be at the back of the collection shelf. Where will iconic Muay Thai master belong?

    Love that Anthony makes it clear that there is his “personal” opinion, and objective flaws of the figure.
    Some people constantly miss that entirely and thinks that he always hates action figures.

    This figure looks like a bootleg in comparison with the Storm Collectables version lol. Tamashii keeps missing the mark with their Street Fighter figures, the only great figures they’ve made are Sakura and Chun Li. That’s it, the rest have been mid. While I appreciate Tamashii trying to stick to making well scaled Street Fighter figures, they do a terrible job at executing them. This is where Storm Collectables reigns supreme here since they provide excellent sculpt work and really good articulation (for the most part) but what ruins it is how overly large they are, they don’t fit in with your standard 6 inch figures at all and it’s a shame. Regardless Storm Collectables is the better company for Street Fighter figures, their Sagat is hands down the best figure they’ve ever made

    orange is color of the year apparently...i might still go for the figuarts route, as they're accessible...i enjoyed storm collectibles, but they might take long to complete the 12 world warriors, and my Ryu was a return, and its from a known licensed online toy seller...I was so mad...like worrying aesthetic flaws is not enough, and you get returns or wrong figures...

  • @Novapoid
    @Novapoid Před 4 lety +2

    Great review. It really goes to show how a DECENT figure can end up leaning either over "Very good!" or "it's terrible!" depending on two things: paintjob % how it scales with the rest of the line. This Sagat reminded me a lot of revoltech, both in positive & negative aspects. I feel like SF is in such a weird place as far as action figures: you have both Storm & Figuarts releasing either something shitty, spectacular or just ok. I'd say neither line has the upper hand over the competition: in my opinion, Ryu, SFIV Ken & Chun-Li are much better in SHF (Chun being the highlight) while Storm has an amazing Zangief, Alex & Sagat. Then Bandai releases less popular stuff limited to one line such as R.Mika, Vega & Blanka but make them more expensive to get. Since Storm is really keen on acquiring fighting games licenses, they could end up "winning" if they improve on their shotos and release the definitive SFIII versions of Ryu&Ken in the future so they go together with main characters like Kyo, Terry & Haohmaru. Would you buy SFIII Ryu&Ken, Anthony?
