Marcy 150 lb Stack Weight Home Gym | MWM-990

  • čas pƙidĂĄn 22. 09. 2019
  • The MWM-990 features over 30 strength training exercises for a total body workout. Just like what you're used to in the clubs, the MWM-990 offers many of the same exercises that work the entire body and target most major muscles.
Burn calories and increase lean muscle mass. Resistance training not only builds lean and powerful muscles, it also increases your metabolic rate, allowing you to burn more calories and lose unwanted weight.
Due to the design of the MWM-990, utilizing pulleys and cables connected to a selectorized weight stack, you'll never waste valuable time loading and unloading weight plates.
In comparison, the MWM-990 home training system exercises are safer than traditional free weight exercises because the weights are never suspended over your body; but rather, is stored behind a protective weight stack where they can't injure you.

Just got this and have begun assembling it. Definitely my first big purchase after getting a house. Looking forward to start it. It will be nice avoiding people who only use the gym to do tiktoc and insta posts. I mean before people would bring water jugs and a protein shakers, now all they have are tripods. 😑

Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the czcams.com/users/postUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.

If you are over 6ft, I would definitely recommend getting the 200lbs version of this Marcy model (MKM-81010). Those extra 8 inches that the 200lbs model has over the MWM-990 or lesser is extremely helpful and will allow your ranges with the pull-down system. I've built all other models, and had to take each on back as I was not able to do a full range of motion without the pulley hitting the top of the weight stack. It wasn't until I tried the MKM-81010 that I was able to workout with ease and comfort. I love that model now and would strong recommend it.

Bought one recently due to COVID restrictions at gym. Took about 6 hours for me to install. Parts are not impression stamped with ID #, instructions are pics only, but there are a few CZcams installation videos that were helpful. Definitely the seat is too short. I'm 6' 1" and wish this system had an adjustable seat for pull-downs and leg extensions. Range of motion for flies is severely limited. But for the price and space requirements, and the fact that I also have free weights and a bench to the side, this works for me. Mine came only with the pull-down lat bar and ankle/wrist strap. I bought rope, V bar, and straight bar as a separate bundle.

Few things: If you are tall like me 6" 3", you can't get full extention on pull downs, the chest cable flies stink, and if you do the bent over row the front of the system lifts off the ground because its so back heavy. You have to put dumbbells on the front legs to keep it grounded.

We bought this during covid. OK I guess but discovered serious drawbacks as I got into heavier lifts. The preacher curl pad is too narrow; notice how his elbows are on the edge. That's distracting and risky with heavier weights. Also, Marcy opted for round tubing instead of square for this part...why?! It doesn't stay put. I would like to modify the preacher pad (wider and with barbell attachment) but the round tube really limits my options. Tip: periodically check and tighten the screw that locks the cable into the plate stack. Note that some movements cause the cables to rub hard against the inside of the square tubing which will cause cracks in the cable sheath and loosen the screw.

I am 5 foot 10. Theblat pull down is not "tall" enough for a proper pull down as you can not stretch your arms up. If you could lower the seat it would be fine but you can not.
Also using it for fly's does not provide full range of motion either as the bars sit to far forward.

Poor acting. Trying too hard to look serious. Corny music. No way you are going to get that fit on that machine. You got tiny calves, try building your legs up, chicken legs are goofy looking. I kinda want this machine for light rebuilding work as I have injuries but still on the fence.
