Hmm, I've got a huawei p30 lite, it's not listed on the list, if you can get the app to work on your phone can you be sure it will work, or will you not find out until you try to connect to the drone?

Do you actually need to have data on your phone to operate the drone?
@@paulrichardson9319 no, but you will need Internet connection to load the map up, you get much better range when you switch your phone to airplane/flight mode.

Ed, you're to be commended. This pair of videos wins the equivalent of Oscar for actually covering the goals in a way that isn't intimidating & doesn't assume knowledge on the viewer that isn't there (yet). Mini 2 is inbound along with a dedicated refurb Pixel 4 XLT, so I'll be reviewing again.

Your video is the best I've ever seen. You're the first person that's ever concisely explained why you simply have the rear of your drone facing you to put yourself pretty much in the pilots seat. Very simple, yet important.

Once again I have learned a better way of doing things. This time it was calibrating the compass. Forever, I have been trying to recalibrate by turning horizontally and vertically by using hand motions. Walking around the landing pad seems to doing the trick much more easily. Thank you. Of course that is not the only thing I have learned but it is the easiest for me to implement immediately. Thank you!

And don’t forget to tap record to start filming! The amount of times I’ve failed to do this is really annoying! I get the drone in the air fine, fly it a bit and then suddenly realise I’m not recording! 😢

Buy a fast memory card too, people. When you get home and see that the footage is corrupted, you'll wanna punch something 😂. Use a SanDisk extreme or something.

Hi Ed, there' s also another trick to land safely or actually avoid landing while your mini 2 is hovering just grab it from the bottom safely and flip it there is a safety mechanism that will stop the blades from turning, next you will just power off like you first did while starting it, thank you so much for you wonderful video.

Just got my mini 2, it’s my first drone and every little helps it arrived this week and I haven’t had time to have a proper play / fly yet, I’m really looking forward to learning the photographic side, recording life at a different angle is assume thanks for the tutorial.
Thus guy gives THE BEST TUTORIAL in to how to setup the drone. If one is not able to go fly with the DJI drones after watching these vlogs he or she should concider not to fly at all.

Excellent video. Probably the best tutorial I have seen. I got my first drone yesterday, a Mini 2, so I am still learning. Do you need to calibrate the compass for every flight if they are from different places? And the same goes for your home point?

Thanks so much. I just bought one of these, having flown larger drones in the past. Your tutorials are a must as they seem to nail everything you need to know before the first flight. Just wanted to add to what you said about battery life. LiPo batteries are not meant to be drained below about 20%, to maintain them in the best of health. I have had one land with 30 seconds life remaining in the past (a massive headwind on the return leg). I presume DJI don't build in any kind of contingency to avoid over-draining batteries, other than the warning level. So yeah, exactly as you said, don''t take chances and get it on the ground as soon as, when you get below about 30%. Nice tutorial - thank you again
RULE OF THUMB FOR ME IS AS SOON AS I GET THE LOW BATTERY WARNING. I HIT RTH IMMEDIATELY AND UNLESS I AM IN A WIDE OPEN AREA, I DONT EVER FLY MY DRONE TO THE POINT WHERE I CANT SEE IT ANYMORE WHICH TO ME IS TO FAR AND USUALLY DONT GO PAST A HALF MILE AWAY EVEN IN A WIDE OPEN AREA AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM YET DOING IT THAT WAY.
