@@chrismcintosh2526 At the cost of explaining the joke, Chef's in-game comment was referring to the fact that no other faction's tanks (which clearly have turrets) have 'turret weapon' rules and therefore those factions don't know how to use turrets
@@thepastrychef8014 But why can Guard characters give specific orders to their units, but other factions leaders can't? Why couldn't a Marine captain order one unit to take aim and another to fix bayonets? Seems pretty unfair, right. Really you could make that argument for almost everything in the entire Guard codex.
I think GW gives certain rules to factions in large part to make that faction feel like it should. One of the Guards' biggest themes and selling points are it's tanks - it's THE tank faction, really - so it makes perfect sense for them to get a rule that actually makes them far more viable than they were before.
Man looks like T'au can learn a thing or two from the guard in the shooting phase 😄

Loving all the little extra details put into the edits of these like the little radios issuing orders on the overhead view or the different attack animations to show who is shooting etc 👌🏻. Plus that subtle chantry music in the background is a nice touch
As a Guard Armoured Company player...its makes me very happy to see the guard getting some MUCH needed love. I've slogged through 9th playing my tanks and boy it was worth the wait!!!

Yeah, that rough rider squad will definitely not be abused at all in upcoming tournaments. I can see some uses for them that just take the legs out of some of the armies around the 40k-verse.
I would also like to buy four cases of those green dice.

You can find your Gorgon Transport about 500meters to the rear of your trench, which will leave tomorrow morning at 0600 local time for the first of 5 frontal assaults on the enemy fortress that has withstood months of onslaught. High Command is fairly certain that it will crack any moment.

Just wanted to say (probably repeating myself) that I love you guys. Your energy and chemistry between everyone of you is just so very wholesome to watch. Even after quitting GW games for the most part I find great joy in watching you play and rumble at one another

Great game guys, surely the bouncing tank orders is no different than Nids bouncing psychic powers
Except for the fact that psychic powers can be denied and have a chance of failure
I think they just misinterpreted that rule, pretty sure it just allows tank commanders to give orders to other nearby tanks

@@orangegills3179 just checked, they dont bounce, i got it right. When issuing tank orders, "...you can select one friendly vehicle unit (excluding titanic units) within 6" of that tank commander model, instead of selecting a leman russ unit"
What a fun match! Beard and Jinx are great together too. I really like the production improvements with the Vox comms.
I love the guard, there is just something about normal dudes fighting all the 40k monstrosities that's really cool.
But man the rules.. 17' move and fire as normal.. it's like eldar, but better shooting and defense. Then auto wound on 5 and 6 to hit. I dunno every faction just ignores the basic game rules
Same with votann design philosophy. "Hey, remember the core rules that the game is based around? What if we made a faction that flagrantly ignores them?"

Just a correction for chef: Vehicle orders in the dataslate were 1 target, no bouncing. The buff was for tank commanders to order other vehicles, but they still only had 1 order by default. Most of the time that still just went on the TC itself. Infantry orders bounced the exact same way they do now.
So for the infantry it's the effect of the orders that changed and that there's more variety now. And that vehicles actually get to make use of them now properly instead of just shouting at one tank specifically.

It's bizarre to see Tyranids, the boogeyman of just a few months ago, frightened of Astra Militarum... Power creep is really egregious this edition.
They are still very strong.

Guard was in the bottom quarter of codices for at least a couple of years now, I'm okay with our book making us a bit over clocked for a little while.
Will you be OK if they become super nerfed to "pay for their sins" like other Codexes though 😅
@@thepastrychef8014 I mean, yea, I've not played guard as my main faction since 8th edition because I care about dominating on the table top. But I hope we can stay on the good/fun side even when we (inevitably) get knocked down a peg.
@@parapotato Lots didn't do the same for many armies, but when they get overclocked as you put it, noone else has a good time, and they suffer for their fun lists being perceived as broken, and "deserved" when they get nerfed. A lose lose for people like yourself 😅 My point is the book shouldn't have come out overdone in the first place. It's not Nid or Tau level imo, just a few tweaks, just hope they don't sledgehammer it 😅

Bullgryn not having the Ogryn keyword is one of the many things that need to be FAQ'd in this codex.
Death Throws only happens to kill enemy models now. Guard Indirect fire does not suffer penalties for lacking LOS.

Correct, but Indirect Fire imposes a -1BS, so it does stack with a -1 to Hit (2 different things)

Does Beard know which NFL star is known as Primetime? He used to ask if people knew what time it was? And the answer was either "Show time Primetime!" or "Game time Primetime!". He would even add "baby" sometimes. If Beard does know him, then he is even more of a legend than I thought. Great game everyone.

I'm glad they kept the auto wounding, each army gets a different approach from GW and this is just what they chose to up Guard damage output. Sisters have mimicked dice, Eldar get Fate dice etc. Also Born Soldiers is in lieu of regiment traits. Alot of folks will start trading it out for the flexibility of those. I like it, it's simple and straightforward. I did my first tournaments recently and am very fond of easy to remember armywide rules.
