Drug Stems

Cut down on brute memorization for the top 200 drugs! Drug stems can be used to identify the class and indication of a drug! Drugs with the same stem have a similar pharmaceutical composition as well as indications. Use stems to group drugs and make memorization and recognition much easier.

I passed the PTCB exam in 2018, it was MOSTLY the math problems (Nurse IV calculations) and Generic/Brand names. And the laws/regulations. Dont worry too much about knowing what the drugs do. Just know their names. The antibiotics like Cephalexin and make sure you know what schedule a drug is. Marijuana, Heroin, LSD are Schedule one drugs. Schedule 2 are morphine, oxycontin, and things like that. Just know this stuff!

Thank you for doing all of this. I cannot imagine where you found the time to be so very comprehensive; it is appreciated more than I can say. I plan to take the PTCE in May and I’ve benefited from your many YT contributions during my preparations. I’m taking an instructor-led online course but have been disappointed. The “professor” is grossly under qualified. For the expense I paid, I wish the teacher had been someone with the obvious intelligent passion that you demonstrate.
