Great video that explains just what goes into working the front desk! I appreciate the line about needing to make sure everyone is happy from the Dr to staff to patient! So true!
thank you so much for inspiring this whole video with that line of yours :)
Really helpful video, more than 2 months now as my second job as a receptionist and multitasking in a small dental office.
This was such an awesome video Whitney! It takes a special person to work in the front. So happy I am an assistant!
thank you soooo much for watching!!!
this would be lovely if most offices had three different people working these jobs, but every office I've worked at the front for has had me to do all three. It gets tiresome, and there is little to no pay off and you're usually so busy you don't get a break. Then you get talked down to by the clinical staff because they think you just 'sit on your ass all day' (actually had a few assistants say to me even though I've done their job before and know the front is by far the harder of the two).
I agree
I just left my job of 8 years and I agree 100%. Not all coworkers are willing to work. Definitely not willing to help.
Love your videos. I oversee the technology training at Patterson and we are utilizing these for our new hire on boarding. Excited to see that Eaglesoft is used at your office. Great work!
Your enthusiasm and positive attitude is infectious, youre great !
thank you for this kind comment!!! positive vibes!
Right now Iâm a receptionist but Iâm in school for dental hygiene :)
yessss!!! Sending you positive vibes!!!
Iâm such a nerd! When I saw that you guys had eagle soft too I was so excited!! đđ
How did you find a job as a receptionist while still being a student? I have a hard time finding a position as a receptionist. The offices usually want someone with experience and available everyday from 9am-5pm.
E. rry I do night classes. I just annoyed every dental office until one finally gave in. đ
E. rry adding on to what I said Indeed and Dental Post are great places to look!!
You're so cool and I love your videos! Super informative and fun!
thank you SO much for watching :)
This seems like a great office to work at I'm jealous lol
Great video very informative thank you đ
This was really helpful!! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for watching!!!
That is a beautiful office I love it
The ending was super cute!
I work at the front desk for a busy dental office, 100+ and more a day, and as you were naming off roles, I was naming names in our office! Great video.
Wow def a big office!!! Thank you so much for watching :)
Do they train you well before you are left alone to do this job?
Missed your videos!! Keep it up!! â€ïžâ€ïžâ„ïžâ„ïžđ
thank you so much for watching & commenting kind :)
I learned soooo much in this video!
I was blown away also by all the details!!! thank you for watching!!!
I know this video was made last year but I am excited because I will be working in a dental office at front desk very soon! it will help me with some experience before I go into my dental hygiene journey
YAY! This makes me so happy! Thank you so much for commenting! You are going to have a happy journey of teeth ahead! Sending you positive vibes!
@@TeethTalk Awe thankyou! love your videos!!
Hi!! How is/was it?? Iâm also starting soon!
Great video
Love your videos
thank you so much for watching!!!
I wish you would do more videos on hygiene since a lot of your viewers are in hygiene school! Please do videos on fulcrum, instrumental grasping and techniques. Even if you do on a typodont would be great. Your a great hygienist!
Yes! I'm working on a whole video segment "for RDHs" hope to start sharing it soon :) Thank you!!!
I got interested in dentistry in about third grade but it has slowly started to wear off during the years but every since I have been watching you, I got to learn more facts about dentistry and now I am really interested in it. Btw is that your husband/boyfriend as your patient?
When do you think you will do a video on the different types of dental bibs? And why the UK uses reusable dental bibs. I really love your videos you are so informative and just an all-around super awesome terrific person!
You are SO kind! I have it on my list as a video! Sooner than later! Thank you again for watching!
I know that itâs so important that the staff is friendly because I can always spend my money with another Dentist đŠ·
I work at a clinic where the two of us have the roles/responsibilities of the four mentioned. It's exhausting.
himelodyhi right ! It was so stressful for me I couldnât do all things at once with just two people I want it to be organized just like this video I like back office more than front office which we had our own roles
And I bet you don't get paid a lot for having so many roles.
Absolutely overwhelming
I remember about 10 years ago I wanted to be a dentist. Then two years ago I wanted to be a dental hygienist. But Iâm also considering nursing or teaching because I love working with children. Now I really donât know what I want to beđ° This working environment seems nice.
So many opportunities!!! Sending you positive vibes :)
Idk what I want to be, but I signed up for dentistry in college. I just know that I want to help people and feel like Iâm doing something with my life. I donât want to work in some factory or office. Though I was considering being a dental office receptionist while I go to school⊠how much do they normally pay you for that job?
Would you say that this kind of job is similar to a hotel receptionist? I assume the people you deal with and what theyâre there for is obviously entirely different but the job itself would be similar? My main issue with hospitality is their entitlement.
What is the qualifications needed to become a front desk receptionist
So. True. Don't forget "skip lunch" lol
Do you have any tips for me? Iâm 16 and getting my first job as a receptionist at a dentist. Also Iâm going to work alone
Hi! How did you do? Iâm curious if you were able to do alone?
Wow I will never be impatient at all.
đ I know right they are so busy!
I'm currently applying to office/clerical jobs but it doesn't seem as easy as it looks. When i see other people do it at doctors offices it looks easy. But obviously I know no job is easy. I had a job last year at a law firm doing clerical work but quit after three days. Now I'm doing another Clerical job at another place and I'm so nervous cuz this is my second chance and i don't wanna mess it up. If it gets too hard i just have push through can't give up
I am a receptionist at Semmelweis Clinics!
Hey, I am a level two dental student. Could you please advise me which job position is low stress, dental assistant or receptionist plzzz?
I do all three đ
Me too its a lot đȘ đ© đ
I'm considering applying to a receptionist position in an endodontic office, how difficult would it be for an entry level person like me to get adjusted and learn everything?
@@pinkgyaru._. if Iâm being honest it took me about 4 months
@@pootscoot420 I appreciate the reply! :)
Itâs stressful Iâm quitting my job today canât do everything at once ugh
Was one of the dental hygienists a patient in your teeth cleaning video?
Hi! How much do you think a dental receptionist should be getting paid in 2022? Can you please state an estimate? Please and thank you đ
In Arizona state this position pays between $16 to $19 per hour.
Any suggestions - I have an interview for the front office position. I was planning to attend a dental assist program to work in the back office, but this opportunity came up. Iâm not a super fast typist, which makes me nervous. Should I steer clear of the office position? I assume thereâs a lot of paperwork. Iâd be the only receptionist in a small practice. Thanks for any input.
Overwhelming position.
What did you wear for your interview
Great question! I wore business professional clothing. Hope this helps!
Can a dental hygienist do front desk receptionist work and if so, can they work from home?
Generally - a dental hygienist can do receptionist worked if trained in insurance and such. However, working from home at dental offices usually is not a thing due to HIPPA. Hope this helps!
OMG. My whole day put in one video. Gosh do I need help.
Is that your husband/boyfriend as your demo patient?
iâve been applying to become a dental receptionist for months and nothing yet âčïž they all require experience but no one will take a chance on me
Keep goin!! Something will stick !!
Iâm about to work at a dental office as a receptionist and I have no experience in the dental field. When I went in for the interview I was asked if I have dental background and I didnât, I didnât suggest any knowledge of it either in my resume⊠and he decided to give me a 2 week chance so now Iâm trying to cram a lot of terminology in 4 days. Iâm honestly lucky to have gotten someone willing to give someone a shot but it was intense bc he said itâs hard to impress him đ€·đ»ââïž
@@xo1835hey, just got hired, no dental office experience at all.. Any update with being a dental receptionist with no experience?
Only work in a dental office if you are a dentist, hygienist or EFDA. Receptionist position will get you nowhere. I have 18 yrs in dental offices as receptionist, biller, insurance coordinator, even assistant office manager and the most I made was in the low $20s after so many years in the field. And it was tough to even make that much. It's a stressful job between dealing with the patients, dentist expectations and if there is management on top of that and keep in mind the long office hours most dental offices have. I worked until 8 pm countless times for years. Rarely benefits are offered. Yes some offices have but in my experience most don't. And I mean like health, 401k and even dental benefits. I tell everyone I know to steer clear of working in dental offices unless they are going for the 3 jobs I mentioned above (dentist, hygienists make good money with only an associate's degree and EFDAs make good money too after the training).
It sounds like you live in an area with low pay or you work at a crummy office. Where I live office managers make around 30$/hr.
@@Angelaaa1015 I live in Pennsylvania now and have briefly lived in Florida. Both near cities so pay should have been good. Unfortunately and I have seen this with other people too, getting the kind of pay you mentioned is rare. Possible yes. But its few and far between to find it. But of course if you love the field and what you do and pay isn't the ultimate gain then you'll be happy.
I have an interview tom as a front desk receptionist at a dental office and Iâm so nervous lol starting pay is $16-$17. If they will have me do all three jobs I wonât take it lol
@@KimiJadore good luck! And they will most likely want you to do all 3 jobs hahahaha even if they say other wise.
Wow this is so true ! This is how my office is and I work at a very popular one in NYC but is so stressful ⊠no benefits are offered which is crazy
Awesome video..how to be a santation technician
great video idea! we have assistants to the dental assistants that focus on sterilization. I'll def add that to the list!
