You need to burn those sticks and stuff that you pull out of there or else they'll just use them to block the way again.

I don't think I've ever really appreciated just how industrious beavers are. I see the collapse and am always surprised that there are still lots of sticks and mud beneath the service. These dams are so well-built!

In order to slow this down, the farmer may need to bring in a wood chipper and turn all those branches to mulch. Alternatively, the beavers could be trapped and transplanted to a new home in the mountains.

At normal water levels, their fields stay much dryer because gravity can drain the water down to the canals. Such a wonderful service and one that also provides interesting content for your viewers! Why destroy these dams they help eco systems and plants, the damns are good for environment. SO much land has run off an is ruined because it is not slowing water to sink into the ground. People are now creating beaver dams to fix desaert land, slow the runoff and and refill the under ground aquiffers.

They’ll keep building their dams. A farmer friend had them in a creek on his property and they would rebuild as fast as we could tear them down. They were taking down enough trees he was worried about the creek bank eventually destabilizing. Plus the beavers were also going into his cornfield and chewing off corn. Their food stash was full of tree branches and corn. We ended up having to trap them and took out three. There are still some there, but they aren’t building dams. They just construct a lodge in the deep pools.

I just had a ‘crazy’ idea: when the weather is warm again, find a seasoned (experienced) kayaker to start floating in the water above the dam, shortly before it’s about to collapse. Then, when you collapse the dam, they go for s ride! You could film their progress with your drone and see how far they get in a minute and in 5 minutes (That’s if you and your drone could keep up with them! Lol).
Maybe a special episode? It’s something different that just might bring extra views?
