TOO MUCH WATER IN THIS CHANNEL!

- This dam holds tons of the water next to the road. Hunters are not regulating the beavers. Only thing what could help is drain the water regularly. Very wide one and I think deep too. I couldn't check the depth there unfortunately.
Enjoy the video;)

Awesome Filming. I really like it when you have the cameras away from the dam. It gives an overall picture of what is going on while you are dismantling the dam. It helps when you show what's happening down stream while you are dismantling also. Thanks For Letting Us in on What You Do!!!
You are welcome! I am glad you liked it!
Another wonderful executed removal. something to keep your eyes on if the Beavers are not trapped. Stay Safe.👍 🇬🇧
Thank you!
That's crazy for them to tell you not to open it, it would actually help them catch the Beavers as they come back to repair it, they could set up traps there !!
Or if they were hunting them, it would give them less area to hide in the water in. They aren't thinking.
Nice work Mantis
Very satisfying and relaxing to watch before sleep
Thank you 🦘❤️❤️❤️
Yeah it was.. I was a bit nervous...
Yup.
This is why I came to the comments to say the exact same thing
Wow Mantas, a really big dam and lots of water. The beaver were very busy building it. Great removal.
Thanks James!
That dam held an incredible amount of water. Looked like a lot of hard work. Enjoying watching your videos.
You've got your hand full taking out these beaver dams. There seems to be many of them.
I give you props for taking it down anyway for the community because if the hunters were actually hunting the dam wouldn’t have been that massive! Awesome job and dedication 😊
Thank you!
Your very welcome 🙏🏻
My heart went in my throat when you fell keep safe Ken.
well done, I love watching you unblock the beaver dams you are a hero well done matey xxxx debbie uk xxxx
Good afternoon everyone hope you are having a good day. Greetings from the USA. Happy labor day everyone.
Happy Labor Day to you.
You did a great job on dismantling that dam, hopefully the hunters will be able to take care of the beavers before they have a chance to rebuild the dam.always impressed with your commitment to the community and your family for taking on these challenges.great video.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎🦫🦫🦫
Thank you!
Nice video Mantis , lots of sticks and mud that you removed
Very enjoyable and relaxing to watch before going to sleep
Thank you 🦘❤️❤️❤️
You are welcome Maria!
You have no other choice, you community has to survive. It is vital that the water level be maintained. God be with you in you efforts.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. It's getting fall around here, too. I'd bet that the beavers have taken up a jackpot for getting rid of you after you take out this big beaver dam.
Hey! Thank for insights :)
That’s a lot of water. Great job clearing the dam.👍👍👍👍👍
Lot of water behind this one,..I bet you hear running water in your sleep,..you always have interesting videos,..
Beavers are smart in Montana. They show many qualities of intuition here. I saw a beaver dam 1/2 mile wide that they built on a river in Canada.
That was a big beaver damage! Greag job taking it down!
I so enjoyed your commentary In the beginning. Wow that must have used up so much of your energy. The size of that dam was off the hook!
Glad you liked it!
Do beavers work in small family groups or communal groups. That is a lot of building for only a week or two. Looked like mostly branches and trees with little mud. Water was moving fast also. As always, be careful and hug Elfa
😉✌️
Great video, Mantas! I love seeing the water cascading down the canal! Best wishes for you and your family, especially that beautiful baby and her first steps! ❤
Thank you very much!
You had those pro beavers on this one, tough foundation, that's why you could walk back & forth on it with all that water pressure, great job 👍 Water is a bit high on culvert, there may be some blockage down stream from it
I like seeing the water flow on both sides of the dam. Blessings
Thank You!
Strongly done! Nature also thanks you for this work! And me, who cant help but relax watching videos like this.. listening to the water run, watching the dam being dealt with.
You are welcome! Thank you!
Well the hunters don't sign your paychecks so I wouldn't listen to them either! Thank you for all your hard work! 🇨🇦
Great job. You save trees & farms & who knows what else.
Thanks!
If beavers keep building back in the same place, could you bury something like a chain in the bottom of the river, and easily pull it with a tractor to break a new dam?
That's great job,amazing take care godbless.❤
Thanks!
A fine dismemberment today. Excellent water flow! Your the best, Mantas! Cheers buddy! ❤😊
Thank you Martin!
I've never seen you lose your footing before this video. Definitely slick conditions. Glad you're always safe and watching to see how the dam responds to every stick/tree you take from it ❤
Yes, I've slipped on sticks.. fortunately I am well ;)
He has to be careful because he’s the only person there if something goes wrong, he’s in deep dodo.
That was a huge one! Was waiting for Mr. Shovel to get some screen time but you just powered on. Stay safe.
Thank you!
Outstanding piece of work .
Thanks!
That is an enormous amount of water you moved.
Excellent job
Hi, yes that is alot of water they stored. Waiting to shoot an animal isn't protecting the environment . This should be easier for them to hunt the beavers now. they have to come back there to rebuild .... You did a great job again on this.. Thanks for the video and you be safe ..
You are welcome 🙏
Great video.
Thanks!
I love your job I really enjoy keep it up 💕
Would any of this wood after it dried, be good for fire wood? Thank you for taking the time to share this event with us.
Deepening on how wet it got, could takes months or years to be dry enough.
Well those hunter's are not doing a very good job. But you are doing a great job😊
They don't care about it:)
Wow those beavers really work fast!
They are! :)
Don’t worry about slipping when when do international waters work well done
Those trees were pretty big in this dam. Not as many limbs it seemed, more trunks of the trees. Awesome that you help your community!
There are living quite huge beavers family I think.
@@Kenislovas hopefully they are able to relocate them soon
This is more of a dam built by veteran beavers cause the younger ones don't use large limbs they tend to use twigs and more mud
Beautiful area, awesome job❤😊
There is a lot of thick branches there. If you get a chainsaw (petrol or battery) and cut up the thick brances to about 12 inches, you could sell them as firewood.
Your English is very good and is improving
Thank You!
Another great one!
Hi, Awesome job a bit scary I was praying it wouldn’t burst and wash you away the power of that much water all at once would be devastating. I think your beaver dam wise by now.
Best wishes to you and your family .
From Carol in Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you for the good work you do.
You are doing an awesome job. I wonder if you had considered using a chain saw to cut the long twigs and logs instead of pulling them out. This may make the initial stage of the clearing work easier, Just a thought.
Excelente trabajo señor!!. Pero porqué no usa maquinaria pesada? Sería mucho más fácil e interesante. Saludos.
Nice job!
That was great!!
Another great video , you never fail to deliver fascinating content 👏 👍
Mantas , great video. It was a large beaver dam with a large amount of water behind it, glad that you did it now , due to the fact that the road was starting to have damage to it. keep up the great work.. David B., Utah, USA🦫🦫🦫♥♥♥.
Thank You David!
Don’t know if this will help, but f you can carry a piece of thin pipe or rebar with you. When you get it flowing back off the pond side wiggle that rebar or pipe in and wiggle it down at an angel to your low side of the dam. It will help eat that sand and dirt off the pond side and help free up any sticks and wash them away. Hope it works for you it always done me right. Love your videos.
Thank You!
wow a lot of water built up nice disassembly but I have the feeling the beavers will build it back in a week or so as they probably won't get hunted.
Good morning 🌞🌞
Hey!
Beaver pelts in the summer really aren't worth that much in the deep winter is when the pelts are the best for selling and are the thickest and will bring the best money ,That's why the hunter's are not bothering with them now , I have a feeling this damn will just keep getting rebuilt bu the beavers they must have many tunnels off this huge canal and ample food and lots of building material
Well done!
Thanks!
Excellent measurement titles.
Thanks!
Fantastic job as always ❤❤❤well done
Thank you!
Here in Montana we find beavers HATE culverts and do their damnnest to plug them up,
The beavers having to rebuild that dam in low water conditions will make it much easier for the hunters to take them.
It should be easier job for them of course.. Because most of hunters are lazy guys.
@@KenislovasI'm surprised they didn't think of it themselves. 🤣🤣
You should bring a trailer to cart off all the extra wood. It would make great kindling or mulch. Beavers will reuse it if they have to. They prefer new wood but will use old stuff if necessary.
Beavers do not dig tunnels after they have flooded their meadows they build a mud and stick base and then build a cocoon of more sticks and mud layers until they have a dry and warm bed to raise their young.
Excellent job as always.
Thank you!
Yep a lot of water
Beavers do dig tunnels underground. Depends on what conditions they are in. Here in th US they dig tunnels in banks 30 to 40 feet long with a 2ft opening
Very good job 👍
Thanks!
It’s amazing how much destruction water can cause. Great vid son thanks
Thank you buddy!
Great job again 👏
Thank you!
Bank full of water 😮
Hi. I just started watching but please wear something bright when you know hunters may be around. In the US we wear bright orange. I care and would hate for the worst to happen. ❤ Also you would think the hunter would like that you're clearing a dam. It should tell him where to hunt cuz the beaver is going to want to rebuild. 😊❤
About the hunters I am not sure. Because at that time they seemed angry on me :)
You said the word I couldn't think of -- MOSQUITOS Are there disease vectoring mosquitos in Lithuania?? In the USA, (and in my area), Encephalitis, Dengue, are occasionally transmitted by mosquito bits
thhat was a bit tough. hope no bruising from your slide
I was wondering if you’ve ever put a second camera downstream from where you work? Say a 1/2 km or 1 km? I’d love to see the affect of the water below the work area.
From a guys perspective I find your videos very satisfying to watch. It makes me want to go tear down some beaver dams myself!!
Hi, Often there are no so much water and it releases not so fast to make flood downstream. Thanks !
Hi new to your channel, have you thought about adding a garden fork to your equipment as this might offer less drag in strong currents compared to the shovel, great content keep it up 👍
Hello, glad you came here. Garden fork is not good equipment for this job ;)
Thank you for the reply, keep it up 👍
Looks like lake Superior 🤣😁
You can see that the beavers built the dam with new material because of all the leaves
Hi Mantas, can you tell us how the trapping and hunting of beavers is organized in Lithuania? Are they just “pleasure” hunters or is there a program of trapping and relocation ?
Actually hunters are responsible to control population of the beavers. But as I know hunters hates to hunt the beavers. There are some reasons:
1. It's necessary to remove beaver dam to reduce the water and find the beavers. It's a lot of work.
2. If you shoot beaver in the water you must catch it in the water and bring on the edge.
3. Not everyone likes beaver meat. Better they are shooting deer or hogs.
4. You must wait long time for the beaver to come.
Another excellent video. How did you become so involved with the beaver problem?
IDK, because nobody want's to be in my place :)
For the debris that goes down stream ever cause another blockage?
❤❤😊
I hope you and the hunters start to work together
Destroying a small ecosystem for the sake of a road. Nice work 👏 👌 👍
How about a video of you making something from beaver pelts, maybe like a pair of boots.
No, Thank you! :D
😊
I like your new glasses!
It's 2 months already.
👍🏼💟
Great job on removing the dam dam 😆
It is not easy to spot a beaver in the wild. Most Trappers set traps to catch the beaver and save the meat and sell the furs to compensate their time and expenses. In my country we have to have a license to control the wildlife with the Game Warden/Natural Resources. If the beavers cause problems for roads, land and farmers. They are relocated to isolated areas. The beaver dams help the fire fighters get water when there is a forest fire. Our people make the beavers work for us and we let them live the life of a beaver.
We don't have fire in the forests fortunately ;)
I take the nice "chew sticks" home and finish them into walking sticks or hiking staffs.
I better buy it :D
do they always use fresh wood to repair the dam ?
Mostly yes :)
If you can get a Back hole in there it would help you tare out the dam with it
Don't have such a amount of money.
@Kenislovas you can reant one for a little bit say like 2or3 hrs
Great video. What country are you living?
Thank you. Lithuania;)
How long do you think it would take to drain down with that much water going back that far
Several hours.
you said the trappers say you shouldn't have opend the dam so they can shoot the beavers. i think the best time to get the beavers is when they try to rebuild the dam now again and get them in action.
It's a good thing I can ask my computer to translate metric stuff into fahrenheit and feet.
Mantas, do the landowners own the canals also?
Nope, all canals owners are government.
Hey Papa. There were a lot of branches with "fresh green" still on them, along with all those really big tree stumps and branches. They must have been topping off the dam recently, yes? What does a hunter get in profit when he shoots a beaver? One Pelt or two? I don't know if beaver is edible for humans? They'd need a good number of pelts to make a profit. Why do they not want you to bust the dam, so that they can have some fun shooting beavers ?? Are they not invested in the land and the farms?
