I remember Advanced Warfare for them adding a Gingerbread Cosmetic in the game and *_EVERYONE_* was shitting on it for being the worst thing ever to be added only for them to find out that it was a Make-a-Wish request from a kid (I forgot the name but his name was written in icing on the torso) and once people found out they went a 180 saying it was the best thing ever.

About the Germany Nazi thing: Because germany is in the middle of dozen countries most people bought their copy of cod from the country closest to them instead of buying it in from a german retailer
58:40 They could easily do this with a CoD Zombies Campaign game where you have missions where you fight through a Nazi factory where the zombies are being made and you have to kill zombies and soldiers and they could literally go the classic route of reusing those campaign maps and tweaking them for a round based map.
I know they kind of did "zombies campaign" with nightmares, but that was such a sad and honestly forgettable campaign. Imagine a story as great as Waw and BO1 but with the zombies twist.
Sadly I don't think they'd ever do this now because they've literally severed a large part of the community who really even cares about story or innovation.

I agree with Lex that CoD has to change up the campaign and doing Wolfenstein style Alt History would, if done well, basically be a cheat code to print money. Alt History with WaW tone sprinkled in could be some pretty excellent material for a nee kind of CoD game
i dont know what lex be talking about for 2005 but 2005 was still very big for games like just to name a few we got RE4, GoW, BF2, SWBF2005 [still regarded as one if not the best SWBF game], whether you like lego games or not there was also lego star wars which was very popular as well and the list goes on.
I’m from the uk but I used to live in Germany just after bo1 came out, I couldn’t buy any dlcs for the game on Xbox but I could on PlayStation, but yeah I remember asking my German friends to play zombies and there parents wouldn’t let them have the game and the fact it was called “Nazi zombies” was the reason
I think current events that we are currently living through are more real to us than something like WW2 or the holocaust. Imagine losing a friend to the London bombings or these other atrocities and now you see it your favorite game. It must be hard but I think at the end of the day all of this information needs to be displayed and showed to everyone even kids. The atrocities of war should be common knowledge.
I really wish cod took a big step back and go back to games like bo2 or bo1 because those games were really good and we didn’t need any slide canceling or tac running just simple movement and the maps were extremely good and it would be nice if they brought back some old music to the newer maps instead of the same songs on all maps

Here’s the thing about the Savimbi thing, Activision and Blizzard are American, it’s in the US constitution that political figures are part of the public domain. BO2 did this exceptionally well I understand the family’s issue but I will say BO2 made me look him up and learn his story and from everything I found man was a good guy and is very respectable.

I think it may have been BO4 but I think a few years after they kinda nailed the supply drop system since they allowed you to save your drops and just use 50 to buy a gun as well as giving you the chance to get the from drops

I think lex was harsh on COD4 Remastered, I thought it was great, not having all the maps on launch was disappointing but the game felt and looked so good, Benox and raven polished it so well. While I do agree having supply drops wasn’t great, I never really had an issue with getting the weapons or that I felt like I was getting destroyed by the ones only in drops. I mean the M40 and M16 were in the game, they already had broken weapons. Also it was such a breath of fresh air having boots on the ground fun multiplayer against the disappointment of multiplayer that was IW.
I'm not sure if anyone has written about that already in this comment section, but in Russia the „No Russian“ mission in MW2 was simply removed from the game (and that's why story didn't make any sense at all lol) and there was a huge controversy about MW 2019, that resulted in renaming some of the stuff I believe, I'm not really sure

i played every cod game in a row and was so excited when the new games would drop and rush to EB games to buy it but ghost was the last cod i bought for years it just ruined the whole franchise to me it was expensive and i finished the game in 2 hours i bought it because i would play all of the cods with my dad and we would have gaming nights where we would keep playing a game until we finished it like rdr gta and previous cods but ghost was the last game we played together cause it was so short and disappointing really miss those gaming nights now tho

As for the name thing, I have an alternate female character in COD Cold War... you see my first name is Wraith so hearing my name become a gender swapped character in Call of Duty makes me think "yay I got my own character in a COD game, thank you Activision, if this character returns in Call of Duty golf War except as a male, I would happily voice act as that character for the new COD game.
