Wave Crashes Through Windows of Italian Restaurant

- During a bout of heavy rain and wind, a rogue wave crashed through the glass exterior of a resort restaurant in Arenzano, Italy.
Surveillance footage from the restaurant’s security camera shows restaurant employees attempting to support the glass before a wave several meters high hits. The restaurant’s doors immediately caved and the rushing water swept the employees across the dining room. When reached by phone, Giovonna Damonte, the proprietor at Bagni Maddalena, confirmed she was hospitalized with lacerations from the shattered glass.
An Italian regional meteorological agency warned that winds reached 150 kilometers per hour and waves as tall as six meters were recorded.

I'm a victim of the Ellicott City floods - they only had it twice on main but I had it three times. An entire floor of my home was destroyed like this three times and we lost every essential thing needed for living every time. Watching the water shear off the door is the most horrifying thing you can imagine, knowing the power of water is the most powerful strength in the world. The quiet eerie silence and soft cracking and tousling of furniture that you hear in Titanic as the water fills higher and higher is 100% true. I'll never forget that sound.
Marylander here. Ellicott City floods were devastating. Someone up above said something about not building were it’s prone to flood, but in the case of Ellicott City where it’s a historical town, it’s not that easy. So sorry you went through that!

Whoever decided to build a restaurant that close to the ocean is a genius.
What you probably don't know is that this restaurant is located in a town on the Italian Riviera. These things never happened before so it's common to see houses and restaurants at a couple of meters from the sea.
When this restaurant was built, the waves weren't going so far in the land. WIth climate change, it is happening now... And in a lot of places
