- Hard Labor Creek State Park is located in Rutledge, Georgia (Morgan County). This park was once over worked farmland and in the 1930's the CCC came in and planted 850,000 trees and constructed 2 lakes and built bridges and roads. This was turned into a National Park in 1939 but then was turned over to the state in 1946 and became a state park. How cool is that history? This 5,804 acre park has so much to offer like: an 18-hole golf course, 24 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, biking, birding, boating, paddling, fishing, mini-golf, swimming, geocaching, picnicking, camping and cottages. Its just a great place to get outside and be with your family or by yourself, but it's really a great place to have fun and relax.

We collaborated with Moi @moiartarama We won one of his painted rocks and he mailed us an extra rock to place out on a trail, so we put it in a geocache that you have to hike to, to find, so I knew someone would find it. Thanks again Moi for sending us those beautiful rocks!

I love the idea of leaving painted rockes behind where someone can find them. What a nice surprise it would be to find one! We always enjoy staying in a cottage at a beautiful park like this but it has been a while since we have done so. We need to do that again. . I loved seeing all those turtles along the tree branch in the water. And i love all the things there are to do at this park - especially the mini golf and the Easter weekend scavenger hunt! Such amazing history of the hard work that went into creating this place. The cottages look great and the gift shop and activities looked great, as well as the trails. Great lake view too. Oh moi does amazing work. That rock was amazing

Cool video and adventure, Melissa. It is amazing how much the CCC has done. We found a few areas on our last road trip where they had done some work improving the area we were in. So awesome. That was a beautiful park to explore. The river and lake area was really nice to see. Cool that you got a rock from Hike One Paint One. He is super talented with his artistic works. That was another beautiful place Melissa and your cottage looked lovely but good that people can camp there too. The nature trail looked good and I can tell you like taking flower photos 😃so pretty . Are there any areas where kids can play in the creek?
The are where we were near on the video (Lake Brantley), the water was rushing pretty good and there were a lot of rocks. There may be in other places, unfortunately we did not see any. I know you can swim in the beach area of Lake Rutledge, that's an option too. Hope that was helpful :)
