I love the little towns. Last year I rode from Jacksonville Florida through Georgia to Franklin North Carolina in 6 Day. I enjoyed all those little towns in Georgia. Thanks for the nice ride video.
I loved this video, I loved seeing small Amarican towns, with so many beautiful landscapes, especially the videos produced in rural areas. I am a Brazilian in love with yuor country, blessed by God.
This is incredible footage! My grandmother's paternal family, The Reynolds, were some of the first settlers of Covington. I have read so much of the history yet have never been. Thanks for the tour!! Be safe!!
You went right by our house on hwy 36 :) nice video really enjoyed it
Beautiful and informative! Blessings
Well done JOM, thanks!
Love the tour, as usual, specially for the spring ride.
As always, great video Jom, very motivating while I spin the trainer. This one was especially cool to me. I used to live in Newborn when I was a little kid in the 80s, went to a daycare at a church in Mansfield.
That library in Newborn is interesting because it was just a hollow shell with no roof and trees inside. I vividly remember going past it on the way to shop with my mom at that abandoned grocery store.
Thanks for making these great videos!
Thanks Travis! I have another video coming soon that starts and ends in nearby Madison.
I live right off 81, but about 30 miles north in the little town of Bethlehem, GA.
I’m surprised you didn’t get stopped by cops!
I believe it was "Smokey and the Bandit" that was filmed there, not Cannonball run. great video.
Oops, please accept my apologies, I often get it wrong!
Cannonball Run was also filmed in part in Covington, thats correct. When Burt lands the plane, jumps out and gets some beer from a shop. That took place on the square. Dukes of Hazzard also filmed in Covington originally.
Live in Newton, all me life !!
WOULDN'T TRADE IT FER NOTHING .!
where do you park when you go to these small towns. Is that a problem -- where to put your car for a few hours while you are cycling. I don't live too far from this ride and I want to check it out.
I've been wondering the same thing.
A public park, library or something of that sort would be my choice
Pretty much what CR said, I generally park somewhere in downtown assuming a town start. I have remote started from a church property, but always check for any signage concerning trespassing, or have a chat with anyone onsite. I avoid remote places such as trailheads, etc.
Parking all around the square is free. Also a free parking garage NE of the square. The trestle has now been revitalized as part of rails to trails style walking path.
Instead log a compendium of water towers how about one of bike chasing dogs
I have such a video in the works...
It’s cuv-ington 😊lol
Reminder, not a local. Thanks!
@@GravelCyclist lmao I know just wanted to let you know I love your vids
