One of his lesser known friends said there was a time at his house where it was full of people and he was just kinda hiding out in the corner away from everyone, and the friend asked "are you ok? do you want me to tell everyone to leave?' peeps face immediately went from anxious to relieved and answered "yes bro, please!".. he could never be "mean" enough to do it himself. knowing this, it's easy to see how all these "friends" ended up on HIS tour.. he was trying to get them exposure and help them out.... funny because when HE needed help, they were absurdly negligent at best, but possibly willfully unhelpful. there's a particular labelmate that's been HIGHLY suspected as playing a big role in his death- after all, he's the one who *knowingly supplied peep with LACED roxicets*... when this"friend" was told peep couldn't be woken up, he said " that's whack"and didn't even get out of his seat outside of the bus. peep was completely unmoved & not checked on for AT LEAST 4 hours that we know of - it can even be seen in various peoples pictures/videos throughout those hours(in the background)... & his "friend" KNEW what he had given him.. he didn't take any himself bc he knew that they were laced.. What a dam shame. I had never heard of this guy before, I think I must live in a different world! Lil Peep, my heart hurts hearing this sad, sad story. I can relate to his pain, from very young I was having accidents, going to the hospital and somehow different from my peers. Breaking things, loosing them, always covered in paint, even when it wasn’t art. “What’s Caroline done now” we’re words I’d hear so often. “Caroline must try harder”, I was always doing my best. At nine my parents were called into school because I was always covered in bruises, they thought I was being abused at home instead I nearly got tested for dysphasia. By the time 13 arrived I hated myself so much I wanted to be dead. Then I found drugs and alcohol thinking with them too came the solution to my deep-self hatred. Instead though I hadn’t take a cross off from around my neck, one of mental health problems, I had actually draped another equally heavy weight to carry, that of addiction. It is people like Lil Peep who I am dedicating the rest of my life to helping, to make amends for the huge, unknown quantity of damage I have done during my 25 years in addiction. To make a difference at that critical time in young people’s lives who have mental health problems and are at the same crossroads that me and Lil Peep were at, where we both went the wrong way, convinced at the time we were going the right way, that drugs and alcohol were the answers to our pain.
Rest in Peace Lil Peep 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈.

This all sounds very familiar. For 22 years I ran a group home for men dealing with Substance Use Disorder and other serious mental illness. I also lived there. I really connected with Lil peeps music just after he passed away. I had experienced PTSD symptoms due to emotional trauma. I don't quite know what it was that connected me with his music, I think it was the atmosphere that it created. His music felt like a warm blanket that could stop the shivers, even if it was just for a while. I thought the lyrics excessively spoke about drug use and it helped me understand how drugs only made things worse (although in the short term they may appear to help). I was never a drug user myself. except a couple of beers here and there. I think the lyrics could have been anything and I would have enjoyed it.
Over a year later, I still feel the quivering in my heart to a slight degree that my PTSD symptoms were real, but that they are almost gone. The position I am now is far far away from the position I was in when I was enjoying Lil Peeps music, I don't enjoy his music like I once did. His music helped me feel validated during a rough time, while I still appreciate it for what it did for me; I have moved onto different music. I've more or less moved away from rap and am back to things like My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, Slowdive and other popular 80-90's groups.

Great vid Doc as always, thx for this one. Gonna share it with my little cousin I'm sure he will like it and my hope is he subscribes to you after watching 👍✌
Just wanted to add his music reminds me of my teenage yrs so I guess I not too surprised at the fact I enjoyed some of it. My little cousin had alot of similarities to peep also. The music, the drugs. He has stopped with the xanax all together and now only does marijuana. So many kids of my cousins generation share alot of similarities with peep, I think we should definitely be on the offensive with this. Just my opinion, because I thought my generation was messed up but they seem to be surpassing us in many ways. All negative. Saddens me to think of how these kids don't seem to be getting much in the way of education on positive things. I see spoiled, excuse making, no responsibility taking kids that honestly seem to be learning it all from their parents. Idk really that's just my perception on the subject. I love the analogy of doing drugs and borrowing money at a high interest rate. Very insightful analysis. Dr Grande literally makes my day!😊

Hey Dr Grande! I’d love to see an analysis of Roman Polanski.

I always enjoy having a little peep at your informative-yet-entertaining videos, Dr. Grande -- and this one is no exception. I think it was Oscar Wilde who remarked that youth is wasted on the young. Add to that the vapid nature of popular culture, its penchant for promoting instant, outward gratification and you've got a recipe for disappointment, disenchantment and general dysfunction. It's vacuous, and full of empty promise and yet so alluring to so many.

She is evil. I saw her interview on the channel dark matter, and I was disturbed. Haha. But I'd for sure be all about that!

So happy to stumble across Dr. G, subscribed and bingeing, loving the quick, dry wit commentary. This is probably the most somber one I've seen, as some of them, I've really bust a gut, laughter, but, this is, a very sad subject, and thus deserves the compassionate effect it's given.

Dr. Grade you sure did make a complete analysis with what you had to work with about the mental health and personality factors that may or may not have been at work in the death of Gustav Ahr followed by comments about what professionals working in any human service role can learn from the case in order to help make their services student, client and patient centered. I hope all of us can prevent another generation from being labelled something like the lost generation like that generation who grew up during world war 1.
