  • Massachusetts: Boston for a Day - Travel Vlog | Freedom Trail Tour | What to Do, See & Eat in Boston
For this week’s video (state #26) we’re in one of our favorite US cities… Boston, Massachusetts! We’ve had the pleasure of visiting Boston a handful of times in the past few years and we always seem to find something new to love about this beautiful city. One of our favorite things that we’ve gotten to experience in Boston is the Freedom Trail, so we decided to take you along and show you how to make the most of your time as you take a walk through history! If you’re unfamiliar with the Freedom Trail, it’s a 2.5 mile long walking path that winds through downtown taking you by 16 historically significant sites along the way. You’ll get to see things like Paul Revere's house, the Bunker Hill Monument, the site of the Boston Massacre, and more! If you’re visiting Boston and have half a day or full day to spare, we highly recommend it! And of course, we can’t visit somewhere without exploring the food culture as well, so we sprinkled some of that in along the way! Hope you enjoy!
Check out our “The Ultimate Guide to Boston's Freedom Trail” blog for more info and tips on planning your Freedom Trail tour!

As Bostonian I am always disappointed when travel sites only cover the freedom trail. Boston didn't die in 1775, there's a lot more history and a lot more to see so please do! By the way Nat you are so pretty. I hope you don't mind me saying that.

So fun to watch your trip to Beantown. Matt’s Whoopie pie looks delicious but he needs to try one in Reading Market in Philly. That is my favorite. We loved the North End so much. My wife and I love to take walking tours and food walking tours when we are on vacation. Boston is a great town for history and food. The Freedom Trail was also a great time. It was easy for us to walk and extremely informative. I would say that Boston is right there with DC for the history but it out distances DC for the food, but not by much. Great video! I lived in Boston for 6 years ending in 2010. If you are in the North End area at lunch, go to Umbertos for pizza and arincini. Get there early, the line can get long and they close when they run out. Very affordable, cash only when I was there. Hanover street, close to the pastry shops. We used to walk there from work for lunch from South Boston once a week or so.

I love the combination of lively city life, the parks, the history and, yeah, the Italian food and seafood. Unfortunately we went on a day when most things were closed, but the weather was so nice and not entering attractions also mean not spending much 😂. We walked A LOT! cause we did it all the way, parked under the Commons and just walked everywhere. If you get the chance go with a park ranger, they’ll have some stories. Have some ice cream (we did Ben n Jerry’s cause my friends never had it before, but I’m sure you can find others at Quincy Market, plus bunch of different delicious things) try Mike’s cannoli! They are everywhere now. And just enjoy the outdoors if weather is nice. The parks are great, the public library is beautiful, Fenway is cool, too. What's my favorite thing about Boston, you might ask? Well, The Boondock Saints of course! I haven't been to Boston, but my wife has and she loved it! Although she thought a giant rat was a small dog... I want to go just to visit the little Italy area, and eat all the pastas! Gabagool! 😃 I don't even know what that means, I just know Michael Scott says it. Thanks again for the video y'all! If/when we go to Boston, we'll definitely check out the Freedom Trail and Modern Pastry. That place looked packed, so it must be fiiiiiya! Well, much love and many blessings y'all! - Lee & Codie

I had to comment on this one because Boston’s my home city and you guys made such a beautiful video for it! So glad you enjoyed the city! It’s a great place to be. I am typing this as I’m watching you guys, so I’m also hoping that you get to go to the north end. Lots of great Italian eateries and bakeries. Plus just a very pretty place to walk around. I've visited Boston before b/c my Mom's family is from that neck of the woods and my Dad was educated at Tufts U in Medford, MA. My fave part of the city is Boston Public Gardens with those Swan Boats. I also like the food, such as the famous "Chowda", aka New England Clam Chowder and Chinese food. The last time I visited the area was in April 2011, but I was doing a family reunion at a hotel in Saugus, MA, so I didn't get to see much of the city. I do remember visiting the city in early July '75 on a special ed group tour of New England and Eastern Canada between late June to early August '75.

Soft shell lobster has an extremely tender and sweet meat. You can even eat it plain, no roll, no butter which covers up bland and tough hard shelled lobster.
