@Gary Henzler but she has responsibility within her own marriage to maintain, which is not to divulge in infidelity- it is not a mistake to go against that, she ultimately still had the decision to go forward with it or decline. Cheating, whether it be on the fault of either party, is still bad.

Yup. By her saying that, it's pure projection. She thought he was so weak and stay but then he had the audacity to get mad and leave her. Even simps have a threshold of tolerance for this when enough is enough.
She is beyond lucky Ed reconciled with her in the end. She didn't deserve it at all. Even in the episodes when Ed is estranged from her, she still daydreamed about the AP, never about Ed. She only had remorse after she was caught and was even yelling at Ed towards the end of the series to make up his mind. Dude was beyond decent and even had a chance to have his own affair with the wife of the guy Madeline was fucking, but turned her down. He was way better than I would have been.
The same reason a woman would cheat on a dude like that is the same reason the dude took her back. He's weak, has no self-respect and is the perfect man to play games with for a woman.
Any partner that gets caught cheating and wants to fix will have to realise that they'd literally have to spend the remainder of their lives making up for that cock up, constant reassuring, constant showing of devotion, constant thoughtful gifts and attention, giving up toxic friends, acceloting they're going to be watched all the time, questioned all the time and rightly so. They will literally live to serve the victim if they really want to fix it. If theyre caught red handed the victim will never forget the image the partner cheating and will always be reminded if that moment. A cheater 99/100 will never be fully forgiven. Maybe 80% atbest and they'll haveto accept it or move on
@Christina Jones Is this how you control your husband, too. You disagree with him, then before he can expound on his point of view you cut him off and end all debate? While watching this, I am thinking falling out of love is understandable, feeling attracted to someone else is understandable but why cheat... Just be honest, end that relationship if you don't feel fulfilled.... Why do you need to hurt the person you once loved... Why!? For what!? Things maybe hard but you are not the only one in a relationship... Why are trying to get a revenge for nothing!? I think people like this are just selfish... "I only need physical pleasure, I still love my husband /wife, it's a one time thing, everything is normal".. This doesn't work... What if your partner does the same or if your relatives /kids find out... Just spare yourself and others and end the relationship!!
Cheating is better because it means the person still cares about the relationship and wants to keep it alive. Breaking off the relationship straight up at the first sign of doubt is more hurtful.
In these shows the dude always forgives them in the end, when the roles are reversed the women always finds someone "better" think they almost always normalize women cheating in marriages lol

The most realistic and Chad reaction to someone cheating on you. Walk out, no need to give her any attention any more.
Actually its very common.@@lovewhitey4462

Adam Scott is a dual threat…he can act and he can sing high like THIIIIIIISSS
He can't sing, he lip synced
the fact his hand is trembling is such a great touch
The way his hands were shaking as he was talking - you could really see his anger and how hurt he was despite the fact that he wasn’t yelling or acting violent
Anytime, for any reason, that one spouse cheats, the relationship is over. No other possibility.
When he started crying damn. She treats him so bad
Ed is so great. Why is he shown to be such a non-desirable person on this show? Am I missing something?
amit nagpal he’s a non desirable person to Madeline only
S H hahaha. True! 😂 Ed’s desirable to me 😂 😂 I’ll take ya Ed 😂🤣
For me, as for many women, Ed is the perfect husband.
She was with the bad boy before and now Ed is the safe guy. You know how that goes.
Its a TV trope, desireable hot bad boy and the non-desireable wholesome non-problematic person which in this case, is Ed.
Brings back some very painful memories. Scars like that NEVER heal, they're just swept to the corner and resurface at certain times.
I hope you left her
She doesn't deserve Ed.....like she can just apologize it away and the arrogance that she thinks he wants to forgive her.....
@Gary Henzler Sorry, Mistake? You think cheating is a 'mistake'?
@Gary Henzler but she has responsibility within her own marriage to maintain, which is not to divulge in infidelity- it is not a mistake to go against that, she ultimately still had the decision to go forward with it or decline. Cheating, whether it be on the fault of either party, is still bad.
@Gary Henzler bruh shut the fuck up cheating isn't a mistake it's a choice you might be one of the people who cheat so you think cheating is a mistake.
@Gary Henzler cheating is never a mistake unless someone was raped or forced to partake in it,are you saying that the director forced himself on her? Couldnt she defend herself? Someone can only seduce someone when they want to be seduced, vulnerability? she is a married woman and he is a married man,she wanted to fuck someone and she did,no mistake there, she knew what she was doing and so did he,they a both pieces of shit.Never ever say that cheating is a mistake, only time it is,is when one party is forced into it by a threat or physical assault, even then its more of a crime rather than a fucking mistake.
@Gary Henzler Wow, you have such twisted views, I feel sorry for your past and future partners.
Marry: where are you going
Ed: to get my ears checked
Savage level 100000
"you said he wasn't home"
the level of deception here LOL. god, some women deserve what comes to them.
Good, I hope Madeline feels shitty. She’s treated Ed horribly.
the acting in this was so amazing. both of them. i loved his get his ears checked line
Madeleine doesn't have passion or feeling of passion for Ed. It's done.
Replace passion with respect.
Whoever wrote that dialogue nailed it.
This was a real moment… everything about it is spot on. Great acting.
And You Know What Else.....?
We're Done!
She has no respect for him.he does need to leave her. He's a great husband.
Side note I thought he said he needed to leave to get his "gears checked" the first time and now I see he said he needed to get his "ears checked" and yes I understand I should get my ears checked too.
He wont leave her, that would be a really firm move and this show is more focused on building up the women. I guarantee you Ed forgives her otherwise it's like Madeline "lost" and they wont write that.
Shame the writers couldnt figure out how to empower women whilst still having strong male characters
@@grapeape888 If that's really the way the writers are going about it, it would be a shame. Strong women can be at fault too. Empowering women doesn't have to mean giving them endless chances even after they are in the wrong. I honestly think Ed deserves better. Maddie isn't a bad person but she has done some bad things and that's what I liked about her. She is real, she is empathetic but she makes awful mistakes too.
@@TalkAsSoftAsChalk At what point does making awful mistakes turn into you're an awful person though? How much leeway is it exactly? you have to call a spade a spade and giving her character all this extra room to screw up doesn't help people like her. From Ed's POV, she's an awful person and deserves the title.
@@grapeape888 Yeah I agree with you. She’s an awful person. You can’t keep making mistakes and calling it mistakes. especially when you’re fully aware, what you’re is wrong ASF.
they're both such strong actors...he kind of blows me away in this scene,,,,,he's wonderful.
Ed is literally the sassiest guy ever lol. Adam Scott is so underrated
I don't think that's how I'd describe him or his style at all..
God I cringed when Ed was standing behind Madeline.
Love this show
Lies ALWAYS come out in time. Always. And they aren't "little". Cheaters, decievers, and false-friends call them 'little'.
Now she knows she can cheat on him and he wont leave her. This is what she learned from this.
that's crazy right ..no matter how much you love a person you have to show them that you are not scared to lose them .
Ed already knew something was up after the car accident. This just gave him the proof he needed.
this is why madeline has always been my least favorite character. what does she mean "it's not about you?" this is just as much his marriage as much as it is hers and it's his wife that's getting nailed by the theater director. it has everything to do with him.
Yup. By her saying that, it's pure projection. She thought he was so weak and stay but then he had the audacity to get mad and leave her. Even simps have a threshold of tolerance for this when enough is enough.
"No you misheard that" Madeline gaslighting Ed
Wow that is excellent acting. Two pro’s at the top of their craft. Bravo 👏
Simps just keep on simpin'.
The same reason a woman would cheat on a dude like that is the same reason the dude took her back. He's weak, has no self-respect and is the perfect man to play games with for a woman.
Adam Scott dosen't looks like himself here like he did in other comedy role, really suprising
Maybe 80% atbest and they'll haveto accept it or move on
Reese is a genius to hv carved out this piece.
N Ed is so captivating in this scene
When Madeline said to get therapy, I was like stfu and stop deflecting.
Nothing worse than regret thats expressed only when caught.
I didn’t know Adam Scott was in this. I just love him.
And he forgives her by the end of the show. Now that's bad writing.
@Christina Jones No it's not. Alphas are rare. Betas are a dime a dozen.
@Christina Jones Is this how you control your husband, too. You disagree with him, then before he can expound on his point of view you cut him off and end all debate? It's a pretty typical maneuver and it usually works best on betas. But it doesn't work on alphas. And alphas don't stick around after the woman they loved betrays them by fucking some other swinging dick.

Not really something Madeline should've put on her child. He was mad about that too.
Here's a show full of amazing, A-List, Academy Award-winning actors and it's Adam Scott's character that makes me take the most notice. He kills it in this show.
Well, Adam Scott is also a well-known established character... You're saying as if he's a newbie or something...
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman, and Meryl Streep all have Oscars. My point is that he is an amazing actor but doesn't have the reputation as these heavy hitters but still held his own.
I just recently finished watching Parks and Recreation, before that however I wasn’t really familiar with Adam Scott and his work so I totally forgot that he was also in Big Little Lies. But after watching Parks and Rec and coming back to this scene? The RANGE that Adam Scott has is just incredible. You wouldn’t even believe that he caused the “Ice town” incident 😂
The most drastic scene I have seen Reece enact. Thumbs up.
We need counseling? You cheated so WE need counseling? No, I had no part in it. I felt that "We're Done".
Never believe a cheater who says “I love you.”
