This is not only a common Bobby Duke W but also the most serious I think I've ever heard him speak... Good. Changing it from Twitter was just stupid and generally how he's handled it is mind bogglingly dumb.
The way you make art seem easy never ceases to astound me. Not just the way any master of something makes difficult things seem easy, but how you show and explain the steps in a way that make them feel approachable. Not only do I end up impressed by the pretty things you make, but I walk away with the feeling that maybe I could make pretty things too if I wanted. That’s a magical gift I wish more artists and teachers had ❤

I, too, have my own struggles that I've mostly been able to mitigate with art, two wonderful service animals that give me a reason to strive to each new day, counselling, and a semi-strict routine I try hard to stick to. He has been commissioned in the past, but it's not something he cares for because the stress takes away from being able to enjoy any 'happy accidents.'
Consumers tend to see these things as flaws rather than unique features.
his work is good enough, he could easily sell it "after the fact". The piece done with hundreds of colored pencils, even after the initial disaster, turned out stunningly. his "fix" for it after the crash, was nothing short of genius...

When it's not raining, It's hot, so my siblings have been bored and miserable....So yeah, this video is very needed. Right there with you! Our power went out the day before yesterday too and I dont have much options to me when the power does go out as I draw digitally etc. Everything requires power and my tablet is too big for battery power alone. Thankfully my phone still had reception! Sweet sweet stimulation!

One thing I prefer to do with delicate wood items is finish them with slow curing epoxy. It tends to seep into the wood quite deep (with something like this it will most likely go through the whole thing) and give it more strength. You usually want to put a UV-protective coat on it after that since epoxy tends to yellow when exposed to sunlight during the years. Some boat finishes are designed for that exact purpose.
Something I learned in a class all about manufacturing is to also use a vacuum (if you have one, lol). When the air is sucked out, it forces the epoxy even deeper into wood. You can make some stunning and incredibly sturdy products that way.
The fact that Bobby grabbed the log while it was on fire. Then flung said log onto the floor is such a ballsy move, and I respect it.

As someone trained in jewelry making, I felt that piercing bit personally...every...dang...one. 😂😢 Also, are we ignoring the huge-ass pottery kiln just chillin in the garage? Plus y'all...NEVER drill towards your hand or on an unsecured piece! That's a recipe for an embarrassing ER visit. Not the most embarrassing, but it's up there. Use a vice. Where'd you find the baby chisels? I could absolutely use a set of those.
The intro reminds me of Kiwami who makes the "sharpest (odd material) knife in the world." Bonito, cardboard, chocolate, milk, candle...he explains the science entirely visually, but has some weird issues with dolls and cucumbers... 😂
Don't even get me started on the destruction that ornamental pears cause...plus they smell like fungus or cat pee and are prone to just cracking in half as they age and the main branches can't support their weight. Did I mention that they're out competing wild fruit bearing pears and pushing them towards extinction? That too.
