LOG OR SLAB for the GREAT WHITE SHARK!??
Log please!
I'd like to see both. Split the log and insert one slab layer.
LOG!!
Log!
Log babyyyyy
I love how the fact that you have footage of you holding the sign means you decided in the end to do both options
i didn't even know they MADE maid costumes in his size!
@@danielkim9453 what do you mean?
@@EpicMuttonChops they maid it special
That's comittming to the joke. Just brilliant, and hilarious. Well done.
Nope, that was just AI generated for the joke. Like he said, he would never do that. Yup, AI generated joke, he didn't do that in public.
Honestly, the variety of sculptures is one of the reasons I keep watching your videos! Keep them coming!
Absolutely!! When I first subscribed I was worried it was all going to be wood/resin carvings of animals. And don't get me wrong I still watched them all, and.i will continue to, but as an artist myself, I love the use of new mediums in forms they normally don't take. Mainly the tire sculptures! I love multimedium art, and one of my favorite pieces I've done is actually a very large American flag I made from shiny new and old oxidized US pennies. Because how often do you see pennies framed on a wall?
I’m glad you do both, I enjoy the variety
Agreed. The variety is key for me, but I’ll watch every video you put up, so I’d say do what you enjoy and we’ll watch along
that is awesome! thank you for the insights!
Glad you like them! More to come- especially this next one!
Plaster ,tiers ,foam, epoxy, wood ,your sculpture and ideas are amazing
Mix everything ❤
Thank you!
Spend all that time making it just so in the end his friends would be like "That's cool and all, but wearing the maid outfit is better."
So awesome you still wore the maid outfit lol. The trophy came out great!
I personally like the epoxy and wood sculptures a bit more just because it adds so much more depth and options with mixing wood types and cuts.
Sharks are my favorite animals too, so definitely can't wait to see what you do!
A shark with slightly Black toned epoxy would Look amazing. But no matter what You do it will Look amazing !!!!
1. I love both types of sculptures.
2. For the shark, I like the idea of using the single piece.
3. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
He said great white shark, are you good? 😂
I agree on all points!
100%
@@hunterlord37 Because a great white shark isn't a shark?...
@SomeDudeOnline she said whale, and changed it after my comment 😂
Agree with previous comment. I would never tell an artist what to make! Love it all. What’s most interesting is to see how, when your materials “fail” you, how you adjust the process. As artists, we all know what those challenges are like and we all solve them in clever and surprising ways.
Thanks so much!
One log shark! I enjoy all types of your work. The variety makes your work and skills so much fun to watch.
Glad you like them! Already started on the log!
I'd just like to say the addition of the leather seams in the football took it from a football shaped carving to a carving of a football! That small detail really brought it to life, and grounded it in reality.
Totally agree! Thanks Blake
Your friend must be over the moon, not only because of the trophy but also because you did both options 😂😂😂
2:32 tbh I like all wood more
I spoil them...
Lol he definitely did
I appreciate how you are not afraid to fail along the way, treating every part of the process as learning!
I like both wood and wood/epoxy, but I love the combination of wood and epoxy. They have almost an otherworldly dimension.
Thank you! I also prefer epoxy/wood
The trick to molding the hand is to put part of a full size nerf ball in the bottom of the bucket and pour a thin layer of alginate. When it sets you can perfectly place your hand around it.
Smart!
A couple of things that would help tremendously with the vibration on the lathe: having it on a more substantial base the fact that there's an open space under the table allows the amount of vibration to increase over time. But the main issue is it doesn't have a speed control! That would scare the crap out of me! Reducing or increasing the speed can have a huge effect on the amount of vibration.
Agreed. If I intend to do. more of this I think I will invest in a proper setup and tool.
@@BMSculptures That lathe _does_ have some (rudmentary) speed control. @7:35 we can see a stepped pulley set up. If you change the pulley that the belt is on, then it will change the speed that the spindle turns at. That one looks like it has only 4 settings, and such systems are a pain to actually change, but it does have some degree of adjustment. The setting it's on at that timestamp is '3 of 4' - I'm not sure if that's the second fastest or second slowest, but unless you changed that, then there potentially was either one or two steps slower that that lathe could have gone.
You may well have used that (and it didn't make the edit; which would make sense, it's not a lathe how to after all!), but thought I add that for others that might be in a similar situation.
You have such great tools. Fix that, or replace it. That lathe is a time bomb.
I wouldn’t put a project on it, until that is worked out. Your product is only as good as your tools.
@@BMSculptures Check out Artisan Makes: he recently did this to his (metal) lathe and it improved things considerably!
Honestly the blank may have been off centered a bit too. Which isn’t a huge problem if it’s in the chuck correctly and you work it down quickly. But if he was going to do a lot of projects on the lathe. Too many off centered projects can put stress on the chuck which is no bueno.
Hey man, i have been watching your videos for a few years and only recently subscribed, I like watching all your epoxy and wood sculptures, in my opinion if you are enjoying the work then that's what i will enjoy most, nothing worse than a forced "fun" video. keep up the good work
0:43 the fact someone actually called out “you suck” tho XD
Definitely wood and epoxy video's but i like seeing all ur videos they are all very entertaining ❤
Glad you like them!
I love that you use both types of sculptures not just one, thats what I love most about your channel. The varitey is beyond awesome 😊
Love the trophy very much. Great job.
Thanks Jenny!
I’ll be honest dude, everything I’ve seen you make has been incredible. Do what you feel like that’s my suggestion 👍
OMG, what a talent. Really enjoyed the video and LMAO at the end. Great Job, my only regret is that I do not have friends like you guys. Really cool all around. Thank you.
Shark from log sounds incredibly cool 🦈

My comment isn’t gonna help you much…I love them all. I really enjoy watching you craft…so impressive!!! Just keep doing you!
Thank you so much! All the comments help me!
Variety is definitely why I keep returning - that and some brutal honesty with a sense of humour
hahaha glad you stick around.
It’s your inspiration and creativity along with your verbal input keeps me coming back.
I don't even like sports but think this trophy is gorgeous. You did a superb job. I love the gold leafing.. a perfect touch.
Well done big man! I admire how you didn't give up on that shaky lathe and eventually conquered it. Oh yeah, definitely go with the solid log for your great white shark. Can't wait to see it.
Epoxy and wood are amazing , I’ll just stumbled onto your channel and I’ve lost half the morning watching your videos, a true artist 👍
Glad you found it, Thanks Gary!
Honestly, no preference. I like watching both all wood and wood/epoxy builds.
I love your sculptures, they are always so creative!
For the shark idea, i prefer the slab stone walnut, and it would be cool if you use the irregular side for the shape of the tail!
Resin is bad for the environment, and that wood deserves better, sick people
BOTH! Don't limit yourself! Everything you create is amazing!
Thank you so much!
It would be interesting if you made two great white shark sculptures using the different processes to see how they compare @@BMSculptures
That came out awesome! Thanks for taking us along.
I like the mix of what you show us. I love power carving of wood but enjoy the other creations of yours. The problem solving and the humour.
I would like to see the shark come out of the log. Definitely log!
Popcorn machine is perfect in any workshop for a healthy fibrous snack mid creation👌
Thank you, Already started on the log!
I actually like both techniques and I believe the knowledge we get from watching is priceless, please keep up varieties.😊
Dude, everything you do is dope, I'm here for the art. I love your creativity and versatility.., the medium is not important.... . You got a great imagination, for the viewer its rewarding enough to watch each piece evolve from scraps and transform into something beautiful that everyone can relate to.
Its not to often you get to see someone take a rubber tire and bring it to life, that's impressive right there. I'll make it easy for you..., go with whatever speaks to you.
Thank you so much! Glad you are sticking around and enjoying me experiment with new things. Much appreciated!
Great Looking Trophy!!! (And nice legs in the Maid Outfit)
For your next project (the SHARK), I suggest using the slabs, but layer a lighter or dark wood between the slabs.
Gorgeous! love the concept especially now being passed around & shared with friends.
I love both options of wood and resin and pure wood as each have their own fun mix to what they can make. I also remember making a hand for a project out of plaster before, though I've made one out of ceramic as well (though a bit bigger than a real one)
I love both wood and resin and just wood sculptures. Keep up the great work
Amazing piece of craftsman ship. I love it and they way the purple heart and canary wood look absolutely breathtaking.
I was amazed how well it turned out. I had my doubts, but you disproved them all. Nice work!
Please keep doing both. You are so talented and sculptures are so beautiful.
I loved the beginning. "I would never humiliate myself like that." After shooting the dream sequence. 🤣
That alone had me watching until the end. Nicely done and well presented!
I work on the lathe a lot making pens and some other things. It is amazing to watch how others go through their process. People are amazed when they ask how I come up with the shape and material for a pen and I tell them that when I pick up a piece, I have to see a pen in it or it goes back in the pile until I get the right pen for it.
I once started to make a large egg out of a root burl, but halfway through, it became an acorn. lol The shape just fit the wood much better. The pens are the same, as it "evolves" and the grain is exposed, sometimes the shape changes.
Words can't explain the talent you have!!! I'm blown away!! Great job man!!
Thanks Chris!
I personally love the wood and epoxy sculptures!
You just do Amazing work on it all!!! Thank You
For showing us all of your cool work. What A Talent!!
That is so awesome. You’re a good friend.
Wow, I absolutely love watching your epoxy/wood sculptures come to life! They're definitely my favorite, but honestly, all of your videos are so mesmerizing to watch. It's incredible to see the process and the stunning finishes of all your art pieces. Keep up the amazing work!
Wow, thank you!
I understand your fears when it comes to lath work.
Back in the 60s a highschool student had glued up some wood to turn into a bowl.
He too had misgivings and had put on a motorcycle helmet.
But to no avail, the pieces of wood he'd glued together came apart at one point.
Part of this came apart and sliced through the helmet and the top of his skull. It was said that the teacher lost it and tried scooping up the boy's brains and tried to put them back in.
It affected him so bad, he ceased teaching woodshop and as far as I know never went into that area of the school ever again.
So you're standing back and watching it vibrate is very understandable.
that is a terrible story. Wow. crazy
You guys are crazy! Living life and loving it! 😁🙏✨️🙌
If the NFL see this
beautiful sculptured
artwork they would
probably want one from themselves.
You did an excellent
job on that.🤗🤗
I like both. I love the originality and it inspires me to try sculpting things for myself.
Awesome turning/sculpture.
I'd be surprised of none of the guys said anything about the hand holding the football incorrectly. 😂
I love watching the variety of sculptures that you do! It keeps it interesting! ❤
Fantastic - Quality - and a great bunch of friends to share it with.
As us Aussies would say. "Your as mad as a cut snake", and the frock looked good on you.
Anything and everything you make is a pleasure to watch and marvel at!!! You seem to be able to master any medium you choose to work on!!!
I expected to pretty much jump to the end and see the finished product, but I never found a dull spot to skip! This turned out awesome, and I love the pace of the video.
Definitely prefer the wood only, but still very happy to watch wood & epoxy! Great job, looks beautiful!
I found your videos the other day. I cant stop watching. Your work is outstanding. I love the pace of your videos too.
That is just beautiful 🎉
Thanks Laura!
The epoxy and wood, especialy the ones with a large peices of wood elements and purely epoxy elemtns are my fave. I like seeing how you incorporate the join between 2 mediums in the sculpture
Thanks for your thoughts!
I like all of your sculptures! Wood and epoxy can be combined in so many different ways!!!!
Varity is the spice of life. Do both!
that said the T-Rex was pretty awesome!
I like you making it out of wood fully!
I honestly like seeing you do both kinds of sculptures. They always look amazing
Thanks Eric
I love the full Wooden Projects the Bull inspired me to build something of my own!
I personally honestly love them both a mix between both of them I really like that 😊
Yay! Thank you!
This one-of-a-kind trophy is something every guy's club needs. My father played pool with his mates every week ("The Boys' Night Out" eh, it stuck). Their trophy was an autographed framed photo of Minnesota Fats, and on the back the victor put their name and the year they won the tournament (in light pencil), and got to hang it up in their 'mancave' so long as they kept winning. The day I played pool well-enough to compete with them, my father got me my own pool cue as a sign of recognition and it's my most prized possession. The photograph was buried with my father as it was his originally.
Wow! Now that is beautiful!
I like any form of your sculptures,.. you have a great ability to carve and a great eye for form.
I love the wood and epoxy ones, the combination is stunning, but the variety of sculptures you create is what really keeps me coming back for more! Keep it up buddy! Do what YOU wanna do, we'll watch!
Glad you like them!
This video is great! Loved the humor (even when doing the ad!). The trophy is great and it’s awesome that you went ahead with the maid outfit as well! One of the more fun wood working videos I’ve seen.
Thank you, glad you found my channel!
i love the variety in your sculptures, both solid wood and epoxy, epoxy looks amazing for some pieces and some pieces look even better with just pure wood
Thank you so much 😀
I enjoyed watching the 100% wood a bit better, good luck!
Thank you!
You definitely understood the assignment 🤣🤣. Amazing work!!
Thank you! 😁
I was all set to comment on how conflicted I felt about having to see only one of those two options and then you gave me a daydream sequence with the other option too! Thanks! I might've circled the block a couple times for that. ;) And the trophy is gorgeous too!
hahaha Thanks!
absolutely beautiful, amazing work
To me, you're one of the few people who can make resin projects not boring, because they're on the same level as classic sculptures, but I know that the t-rex was one of your proudest achievements. Do whatever, they're both great.
thank you so much!
Your videos give me the biggest smile!!! I have also never seen a funnier segue into a more appropriate ad ever, in any video. Safety first, and don't forget the life insurance! Thank you for sharing again! (And my vote goes for any sculpture you make, but I would love to see an epoxy fruitbat looking sweet and adorable.) I can't wait to see the shark, and this trophy is BEAUTIFUL!
thank you so much! Already started on the shark and so far so good!
That was awesome. You're a great friend
Im the best of friends...
I personally love both your works. Wood/Epoxy and 100% wood. I think you're doing a wonderfull job, its a calming exeperience to watch your work grow. Keep both things coming.
Love your epoxy and wood sculptures because they're so unique.
Love all the carving, epoxy & just wood. For the shark, I would cut up the slabs and glue them up so you can have a bigger carving.
Thanks! Already started on the log though!
@@BMSculptures can't wait to see it!
Honestly any of your mixed media sculptures are more entertaining to watch. Not just the resin and the wood sculpture but also your Good Year mascots you do are really fun to watch. When its just wood sculptures its more impressive than anything.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
CZcams suggested this video and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful work!
Awesome! Thank you!
I absolutely love the wood/epoxy sculptures, so that would be my preference, but I will not shy away from pure wood sculptures either.
Love the sculpture. The attention to detail is amazing. For the others -
1) I love the epoxy wood combinations.
2) It is a great white shark so size matters. They normally have scars so a couple of lines is not really going to matter.
thanks for the amazing builds.
Thank you for the insight! Started carving the log already!
That is an awesome trophy! Congrats.
Thank you so much!
The sculpture looks amazing as usual. I'd probably go with the log even though the size is limited. Thanks for sharing!
I honestly love the ideas you make for your family
Use the log for the shark. It has a natural curve that mimics the shark swimming. I can’t wait to see the finished sculpture.😃
Already started!
I love your TALENT! Your ability to create these amazing animals (and more.) The medium- epoxy or just wood- is secondary. You're amazing, Blake!
Thank you so much!
Love your sense of humor and you're also the best at completing challenges. "So, I gotta do either or? That's for ussies, give me both"
That is amazing! Truly.
Tell you the truth your animal sculptures are my absolute favorite. Absolutely beautiful
I like all your sculptures, so... keep them coming!
Thank you so much! Will do!
A variety of sculptures is way awesome!
You got it!
I like them both, they are each unique.
I'll watch either one, I think it's all amazing!!
I enjoy watching everything you build/create.
Thank you so much!
