- This is my first live review and the item is the XXX Shapeoko CNC with dewalt router. we talk about the carbide create software, what I wish would be better, other items that you will need to purchase with the shapeoko xxl, and if you should go with the dewalt or Makita router.
I use lock nuts or lock tight on all screws, nuts & bolts. No problems.

Absolutely I used it on my bobscnc and have not had one issue
NO!!!! The fix would be jam nuts

Dewalt is actually Black and Decker. Same company that builds both names. I would go with Makita.
DeWalt is a solid tool with a great warranty. Its also an American company. They also own Lenox, Craftsman and Irwin Tools,
I used 3m heavy duty indoor/outdoor double stick tape. Hasn't moved since.
That's actually exactly what I have been using. Works really well, but wanted to use the clamps to see if they were any better. They seem to get in the way a bit, so will definitely still be using the tape method
@@ToolReviewZone actually talking about the wire connections. They provide the vhb garbage tape. I used 3m and they don't fall off the back
I need to get some of it. I'm not sure if I threw it away or not, but could not find it anywhere. Fyi... check out the inventables website for the 1/8" collet and nut. They have them in stock

Is this the largest Shapeoko CNC machine? Are there side rail extenders in order to accommodate a 4'X8' sheet of wood for carving large panels?
Can't you use a drop or two of thread lock on those tricky bolts?

Try to get industrial red color Loctite for all your loosen screws. Saves you the trouble.
Question is the laptop hardwired to the machine or Bluetooth connect ? Is dust in the laptop any kind of issue and if so how do you protect it

Did you ever do a video on making the spoil board?
Did the base come with the pre-drilled mounting holes, or is that something you did? I'm wondering because I plan to make plastic signs and I would need holes like so to hold the plastic sheets down while the rotary tool engraves and cuts
You have to put them in, but the have the file on the website to do it. Super easy
Can this be used or stored vertical to save space? Thinking of a fold up table with a small winch or some other method. I know there are videos on the competition that does store upright. Thanks

Friend of mine has one and they’re actually kind of flimsy given the price tag. Also not really good for materials other than wood. Took him 2 hours to machine an aluminum part my router does in less than 10 minutes. The dewalt spindle is also less than desirable. I guess if you’ve never had a full metal constructed router you wouldn’t really know the difference. Off the shelf there really isn’t much for benchtop routers that are durable unless you modify them significantly. I can’t wait to get rid of my t slotted table top and go to cast aluminum. The slotted tables and mdf tables are not going to give a superbly flat surface hence if you’re trying to stand it vertically it’s going to knock it out of shape.
Does the Makita also need a different collet for 1/8" bits? If so, where can you find them?
Hi javadan. I think you can purchase a 1/8" insert for the Makita. That being said, Shapeoko just stopped selling the Makita and Dewalt routers and came out with there own now

Could you use loctite on those loose nuts and bolts?
Yeah I actually put some on and haven't had any issues since
nice video (little shaky ) but why buy software? like you mentioned there is fusion 360 Free for almost any one except if you earn more than 100 k with it annually I admit it cost some time to learn it but hey there are tons of tutorials for free on the internet, and for thw things fusion 360 cannot do there is also Inkscape also free so I don't intend to buy expensive software

Would lock tight fix those lose bolt issues ?
Yeah it sure did. I was having a real issue with them, but it's fixed now. Just make sure to use the removable loctite and not the permanent

Yeah but wasn't over night. So many people selling stuff for cheap makes it hard to compete
Do you really need a touch probe?
Na, it just makes things a bit quicker, but you still need to zero everything out. I dont see myself saving for it anytime soon
I have the touch probe . It’s is handy bug I still find myself just using a piece of paper and eyeball.you can only use the z probe when zeroing a v bit. So if you got the extra $.. it’s a little luxury.
What are your thoughts on the Stepcraft cnc machine ?
Haven't tried it so can't give you an honest opinion. Looks nice but a bit $$$
I watched some of your videos and I like most of all the one that you made a USA waiving flag , it was very hard and dusty work and long time to finish it..
Why don't you make a waiving falg using the shapeoko cnc ?
Hi Rabia. It is possible to make a 3D flag on the shapeoko CNC, but you need to have a special program to create it which is not cheap. I think eventually I will do it and place it on the site for you all to see
Cant get a touch probe. Cant get a 1/8 collet. Cant get a suck it dust control boot. Very Frustrating

Tool Review Zone also I use a cam lock system for my clamps so I have no clamps on top of the work area and it is super secure! I’m not sure how to post a pic or I would post it

Out of stock..... legit 3 seconds after getting the email, I am going to have to come to your house to see if this thing is real or if I have a better chance of getting corona light. I have been trying to buy the "shape-oko" with the config I want since 2017..... it never happens. they never are in stock..... so i was shocked to hear a fellow yinzer reviewing one...."darn it, darn it darn it"

Your audio sucks! It's all over the place, in the beginning the audio was very quiet and hard to hear. Then it got much louder when you got closer to your mic. If you want subscribers, edit your audio.
A lot of repeated information in this video. Do a little bit of thinking so we can get more information in less time.
