The city of Spartanburg has a municipal population of 37,013, and Spartanburg County has an urban population of 180,786 as of the 2010 census. For a time, the Office of Management and Budget grouped Spartanburg and Union Counties together as the "Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area", but as of 2018 the OMB defines only Spartanburg County as the Spartanburg MSA.
Spartanburg is the second-largest city in the greater Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson Combined Statistical Area, which has a population of 1,385,045 as of 2014. It is part of a 10-county region of northwestern South Carolina known as "The Upstate," and is located 98 miles (158 km) northwest of Columbia, 80 miles (130 km) west of Charlotte, North Carolina, and about 190 miles (310 km) northeast of Atlanta, Georgia.
Spartanburg is the home of Wofford College, Converse College, USC Upstate, Spartanburg Methodist College, and Spartanburg Community College. It is also the site of headquarters for Denny's.
I'm from Cincinnati but I have family in NC and Spartanburg. It's a nice little small town. The southern hospitality, the food and everything is well maintained. No trash in the street 👍🏽
One of beautiful towns in sc near greenville sc , thanks for showing us .
You bet
City*** County**
Beautiful… you need glasses😂
The city has received a federal grant for economic development and beautification of the W. Main St. area shown in the first part of video. It will probably take several years to see results. Also, since this video was made, a popular walking/biking trail has been extended through the downtown area along Converse St. with the first curb protected bike lanes in the state. There is a beautiful woodland preserve/garden area In another part of the city called Hatcher Garden.
It was recently announced that minor league baseball is returning to Spartanburg and that a new stadium is going to be built downtown. This will hopefully bring more revitalization to Spartanburg’s downtown area.
Considering a relocation. Thanks for the tour!
Check out Greenville video tours. Relocating to Spartanburg is a big mistake. The crime rate is high there and Greenville is building a international airport that will compete with Spartanburg's airport. I'm sure whoever put this video up is a real estate agent and is talking this place up.
1st Visual of my City especially DOWNTOWN😎 Thank You for the ride 🚗
Glad you enjoyed it!
I went to Spartanburg in 2015. Was a life changing experience. See you soon. Greets from Mexico.
Spartanburg is a masterpiece. The apex of civilization
Passed by my grandparents old office supply store on W. Main St at 2:30. They sold it in the early 80s. I miss that old place.
I will be visiting Spartanburg in a few weeks for 5 days. Can hardly wait.My first trip outside Ohio since i immigrated from Germany in 1984.
They just passed the old Greenwalds store ..we're talking about WAY BACK. Bought a lot of clothes there
This is adorable
Miss it 😢
My favorite city to take a nice trip away from Charleston
My hometown an Marshall tucker band hometown
Haven't seen this one. Nice though
I live in Spartanburg and the Denny’s headquarters is the biggest
Looks like a quaint small town.
It is! We love it!
Which city in South Carolina is like New York or New Jersey that have like corners stores or deli groceries stores?
Maybe the areas near downtown Charleston or Columbia. That’s probably about it.
I have kids in Spartanburg
Is downtown Spartansburg as thriving as Greenville or up and coming?
No. Greenville has a lot more going on downtown than Spartanburg.
Within the next couple of years, baseball is going to return to Spartanburg and a new stadium is goin to be built downtown. This should provide a boost to Spartanburg’s downtown redevelopment. Also, ground is going to be broken soon for a planetarium at the downtown library. This will be only the 2nd planetarium at a public library in the US. At Boiling Springs on the outskirts of Spartanburg, construction is beginning on a SuperTarget that will be one of the largest in the US when completed.
Greenville has been run by the same Republican mayor for 40 years. Spartanburg is run by Democrats. The crime rate is substantially higher in Spartanburg. You are making a big mistake moving there, when you have two large towns in close proximity. @@MileageMikeTravels
Not much greenery . Does it get much rain? There are only a few plants and trees.
Yeah SC gets a decent amount of rainfall.
This is just downtown very small there is alot of nice locations Spartanburg is shit boiling springs is better
There is not much greenery downtown but there is in residential areas. I have lived in Spartanburg all of my life. It is not without its problems, but for the most part it is a safe and affordable place to live.
Spartanburg the streets fr 💯
No it's not. It only has a population of 30,000 people. Give or take. It's slow but it's a cool little city though. It's street where I'm from Cincinnati. Cincinnati has a population of over 300,000 people. Trap houses, hoods and blocks.
@@nobleman_81 u act like it ain’t. That way here
@@fyeahhsnippets5726 It's not. I have family there and I've been coming to visit since I was a kid. Nowhere near where I'm from. It's too small, slow and quiet. Look up Cincinnati hoods and they don't even show you the half. They just show parts of downtown.
Spartanburg has the no.2 Job Market in the U.S!!!! Take your azz back to Cincinnati if it' so slow😄
Yeah it's a small city but We livin good, affordable cost of living with jobs galore !!!! That's why you northerners flocking down South for good ole livin🙃☝️
Hows the property value now?
New constructions in developments $250-$300k starting price. Fixer-uppers $100k
Nice city Greenville is nicer though foul memories of what happened here on August 6th
What happened
Wow, just days before things shut down due to the pandemic
I live there
Do you like it? Might relocate there for work
@@GardenPartyRecords It’s not a bad place there is some thing here and there but I like it but that’s me
@@GardenPartyRecords We moved here 5 years ago from Miami, and we love it. Very up and coming, great food scene (for a small town), close to Greenville, incredibly affordable.
Charlotte nc
I live in south Carolina i dont need a tour of Spartanburg lol
Same here
Dead in that town
Spartanburg may not be as large and bustling as some other cities but it does have some
amenities. It has 7 colleges, a new high school and elementary school in the city, 2 hospitals with a cancer center and heart center, walking /biking trails, an arts community, philharmonic orchestra, little theater, etc. , Hatcher Garden, Croft State Park, a science center and a branch of Children’s Museum of the Upstate., a business incubator program for minority businesses. Spartanburg is located at the intersection of 2 intersection of interstate highways . Some history trivia- Spartanburg had the first airport and the first commercial radio station in SC. For people who like music and history, there are the Spartanburg Music Trail downtown and the Spartanburg Revolutionary War Trail.
I live in union!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Da onion

Very nice city, I want to go, I would like to help to make America great again.
Go for it!
@Noe Labra I'm from Venezuela, I don't know what you interpreted about my message, but I repeat, I would like to make America great again, with my knowledge and work. I said something wrong?
Wilmington?
Headed there late Spring or early Summer this year.
@@MileageMikeTravels ok if not middle of fall is the best
@@cam45798 What's going on in the fall out there?
@@MileageMikeTravels best time of the year not to hot or cold and the fall colors
@@cam45798 Good point. I'll see how the scheduling goes this year.
It ain't Greenville, that is for damn sure!
Who said it was?
Do shelby
Coming soon.
Sweet :)
Thanks
Why?
there are people there, an empty city
Move closer to Greenville if you want less crime. The roads look awful. here on this video. The best clue I have to why Spartanburg is worse off than Greenville, is that Spartanburg is run by Democrats. If you don't believe me, check out the crime rates on a search engine.
