@@DoubleDowner I just heard their new songs that just dropped and I couldn’t help but think Rostam helped on the new album. Has that “baroque-pop” feel. Feels a lot like their first album or Vampires.

M79 is such a lovely song. It has always made me feel a connection with NYC.
I love White Sky so much. It could have so easily gone so wrong, but somehow Ezra takes something that other musicians would fail at, and makes it super awesome. How does he do it? I don't know, but it has secured me as a lifelong VW fan.

Found this completely by accident tonight. Thanks KCRW. I feel like I can die a happy man now if I have to. This stuff makes a big difference in these times when every concert is being cancelled. @@zackzallie8735 A very creative album indeed, but I felt like it strayed a little more into the commercial indie sound then their first two albums did.
For me the first two albums hit you with song after song of original compositions and unique genre combinations that defined my early 20s.
Modern Vampires was good but it felt like they were losing that initial spark of originality at that point. Or the music was changing in some way. But it's cool to hear you say you really like that one, because it's cool to hear different people's musical preferences.

Intelligent Pop music! Well crafted and played! They remind me of the Talking Heads for some reason. Not by using African music but by their precision and approach as well as originality.
