@@abaque24 it's not the companies job to give him better equipment. They simply don't care. And yes he's probably being paid peanuts but that's his problem. Like I've stated in another thread, the cheapest mic can be bought for $20, so that's on the VA.
That being said, not improving your equipment because they won't pay for it won't help him in the long term. if that is the mindset, enjoy unemployment. It's likely that they don't expect much because of his bad audio. He has no agent so he doesn't get paid to scale, meaning they could be paying him next to nothing. But improving his equipment is his responsibility and his alone.
It is not a case of would if they could. For any VA that wants to be taken seriously, they will.
