Then he creates his own business and becomes successful and the ex finds out and tries to get back together with Keiichi but he super toxic and ice cold and gives her and ice cold response that sends shivers down her spine
I actually saw this premise. She wanted a reaction, but he just said "whatever, I quit." The ex and her lover thought they won, but could not troubleshoot the project, so begged for his help. Keiichi was like "why ask me? You made the project, right?"

Also, I don’t know what “amazing things” Keiichi had done, but clearly they were done before the narrative and clearly they were so impressive to Yuuki that he would tell Nagisa about them. Given the context of the comment and the story, that is.
I know it doesn’t seem like a fleshed out romance, but some time had to have passed before the business was opened, so maybe Keiichi and Nagisa could’ve gotten to know each other better in that period. Whatever the circumstance, I think it’s a cute romance.

Hey, I think that's the first time Nagisa is playing the 'younger little sister type'. After so many times she's either the aloof senior or the elder sister type or the delinquent tough girl, it's a change to see her play the energetic younger sister... who's still pretty legal to hit on Keiichi.

Typical antagonist logic. I doubt she ever even cared about _either_ of them at all, not seeing them as people, but as paychecks. She’s a gold digger.

I've seen this story once too many times and I can recount it in my sleep.

Story could have been done much better, hell 80s love comedies have done better.

Meddling older sister who is a romance novelist, has an interview with a female reporter/friend who ticks all MC's love boxes joins them for a dinner, but love interest rejected MC due to his sickly demeanor. Comparing him to the hero of big sister's novels.
So big sis meddles and turns the mc into the real life version of a romance novel hero in order to get the girl. Working out, hair change, personality, all a glow up.
