UPI is a genius idea regarding mobile payments.
This is unique to India.

To be honest I think it make sense to have limited transaction . I remember 10 yr ago I used to withdraw ₹100-200 almost daily . My quarter statement used to be like 4-6 pages and total withdrawals would be only 15-16k only 😂😂😂

It's not like that, wisely use of Credit card will improve your credit score and thus help you getting easy loan, also you can activeate /deactivated credit card/debit card in realtime from your mobile banking/mobile app. So whenever you want to use it, you can activeate it and make transaction after the use you can deactivate it if you want for time being. Credit card also asking for pin upon transaction unless you give permission for tap service e.g. for 2000/3000 etc. Banks will provide custom designs on debit credit card if you want e.g. your pic on the card.

Credit card main bhi PIN ki jarurat padti hai... If payment BELOW 2000 PIN is not required but payment ABOVE 2000 PIN is MANDATORY.....(FOR any BANK)

First time when I used ATM debit card of Barclay Bank in January 1983 in UK, to receive British Council Fellowship money for my 5 months training at Silso Bedford.
In India, these cards or plastic money came little later. Even before that I used SBI cheque card for multi city money payments or withdrawal from SBI branches, other than home branch.
