UPI is a proud Indian invention. It's ease of use and reach to the lowest levels has really made it the first choice for consumers now. I travelled across 4 states in India without having to take my wallet out of my pocket at all. Such is the penetration of UPI, from tea sellers to Medical stores, from pan shops to vegetable sellers everyone accepts UPI now.
Even Vegetable, & Tea seller has UPI, I pay Tea charge with UPI..it's really awesome .

I've literally stopped using Debit card and use my credit card maybe 2-3 times in a year and deactivate it very soon.

1. Cash kam hone se, cash printing ka paisa bach raha, jo bhi bahut zada hai compared to abhi government jitna spend karti hai UPI par.
2. Cash transaction ko track nahi kiya jaa sakta, digital transaction ka record hota hai, jisse Tax evasion ya money laundering me bahut kami aati hai.
3. Iske wajhe se AI based digital lending market grow ho raha. (Kyu ki isse data build ho jaata hai, and as you know Data is the fuel for AI based technology). Indirectly isse economy ko boost mill raha.
I dont carry Money in my wallet , even in small villages upi works,,, u just need a phone to make payment

Because of the digital payment Indian Government is saving billion of rupees which used to be spent in making hard currency every year. This is the profit for the Indian Government.
Thanks to UPI.....after demonetization I never go to bank. Max ATM visit once a month. because I need no wallet to carry all the time as digilocker keeps my documents safe and assesible via mobile and from street vendor, vegetable seller, pan wala, saloon even sagun in weddings accepted via UPI in India.
I am totally agree & proud Indian that we can challenge the financial dominance of USA from decades.

Biggest advantage is reduction in use of hard currency. Further convenience even for handling lower value transactions.
I still remember when I was in 2nd year of graduation in 2016, my father use to say “son I will send you the money day after tomorrow since there is bank holiday”. And now he has my mobile number using that can easily send the money through UPI.
I have never used Master card ATM in last 2 years because of UPI... in India people simply use phonePe, googlePay, BHIMn which uses UPI etc..
Today even the last shop in Himalayan border villages are joined by UPI and online payment is possible at such small level
Online payment se corruption kam hota hai and currency ki print kam karna padta hai, without going bank you can sent money another bank, like this so many benefits from UPI
24:22 Look, our govt letting us make Tranx at zero cost, then what's govt getting out of it ? You heard that part in this clip where he mentioned that govt spend 2% of GDP on currency printing while for letting Tranx happen at zero cost, govt spend some amount of money which goes to banks. So Govt trying to move on from printing currency and go digital which saves 2% of gdp. And also if in future govt decides even to charge, believe me, it won't affect common man due to minor charges aginst getting best service.

I think you missed the whole point of UPI. The intention is not to replace USD. It has come as an offshoot. Primary purpose was to enable every single person in the country to use digital payment without even having an online wallet like Paytm, etc. Your question on how zero fee works - the presenter mentioned that the government of India paid the banks Rs 1300 crores to the banks as their charges. This expense from the government is offset by the savings it incurred on accounting for the currency notes as well as by more tax collections since more and more transactions are now in the white economy.
Yes UPI is very convenient and payment done within seconds
There are multiple benefits of UPI. It allows you to make payments for everything using just your phone, be it vegetable, tea, grocery, restaurants, movies, travel etc.
Secondly it has reduced use of printed notes, which eventually get worn out. This helps the government save on reprinting or replacement costs.
Since all the vendors have adopted the UPI system, money which was previously kept at home, has also become part of the banking system. With this money also being added, the government has a better picture of the economy and finally, the government has better monitoring capability over the entire financial system.

It's really great.. I'm staying in pure rural backward village but due this digital boost now online shopping ke help se breakfast se dinner tk ka kuchh bhi kana ho.. bahr ghumne jane ke liye cab/bike book krna, etc. Kuchh bhi just i'm buying online and getting delivered at my doorstep..
Bank me nahi jana card nahi use krna sari banking online wo bhi just sleeping in bedroom...

It has been over 3 years since i used my debit card. UPI is been used in India from big showrooms to any little street vendor. I hardly carry any cash with me. Recently a person purchased smartphone in my neighborhood and the first thing he asked me was, bhai tell me how to use UPI?

Jisko asli fayda lene ke liye bhut time lgta hai per impact jabardast hota hai.
INDIAN govt earn tremendous GST due to the fast transactions of UPI system. That is the biggest benefit for them.

UPI generates instantly a QR code I'd for you when you open any bank account. Each account has different QR code with your account number. And it is available in your welcome kit

UPI, cash translation ko hatakar, bank transfers ke thru legal translation ko badava deta hai, esse ek fayda a/c me bhi hota hai jisse tax collection bhi badh gaya hai. Black money ka scope khatm ho rha hai.
Digital economy promotes transperancy in transaction and avoids black money circulation. Also the cost associated with printing new legal tender (currency notes) and discarding old currency is not preferable. So government is willing to push Digital economy as of now by changing zero taxes via UPI. As UPI penetration surpasses a certain threshold, a minimal transaction fee maybe charged in future.
It will be 2 Years since I have withdrawn cash from an ATM. UPI is indeed a game changer, and on top of that the new eRupi is also getting popular.

Govt ko kai fayde hain iske - 1. Cash nahi chaapna padega, jiski wajah se uske rakh-rakhav ka kharcha bhi kam/khatam hoga.
2. Jo paisa isse bachega woh govt banks to de sakti hai, as transaction fee - matlab customer ko ZERO fee.
3. Jab transaction online honge to black money pe nazar rahegi....market mei cash kam / khatam hoga to black money transactions bhi kam/khatam kiye jaa sakte hain....jiska matlab, sara paisa govt ke control mei hoga aur woh better utilize kiya jayega.
4. Internationally use karne par bahar Baitha Indian apne ghar poora paisa bhej sakta hai...ZERO fee, woh bhi turant!
5. customer ko koi jhanjhat nahi - 24x7 kabhi bhi kisi ko bhi paisa bheja ja sakta hai, ya apne account mei liya ja sakta hai...chahe bank account mei (jo UPI se linked ho) ya private PayTm etc. ke wallet mei...jo cash back aur gift vouchers bhi dete hain.

Govt’s money come from tax collection
By upi payments more and more payments are done in digital mode
So govt gets to know how much money people own , earlier this used to happen by cash…
In cash economy , govt does not get taxes
Due to UPI .. transaction increase.... Before UPI one family was doing 3 to 4 transactions... After UPI one family is doing 30 transactions... It increases consumption... Indirect tax....

Black money transactions are reduced.

Digital India campaign has gave base to this growth . To open a bank account is so easy . You just get home service for this . Specially hosewives and senier citizens enjoy this facility.
More UPI transactions, less cash circulation, less supply of cash, govt will save money by producing less currency notes bcz of less demand. Woh save hua money UPI ke liye invest.

By charging zero fee transaction on UPI, the government is benefiting that there are more transactions and when there are more transactions, people will buy more, small businesses will be benefited.Due to the benefit of more transaction and helping small business, there is benefit in the tax revenue of the government, because of this, the government is indirectly earning a lot of profit.
In schools still payments are made through cash I asked to adopt UPI in school and colleges for payments of school and college fees

I think you didn't understood what the UPI system is actually, UPI is one and only system through which you can send or receive money without using any debit or credit card , no need to carry debit or credit card, you can send or receive money through your mobile number or email ID or QR code.

You said china had UPI system and it has implemented in 80 countries long back. But I have never seen such a thing as you scan and pay using your phone in China , this is when I visited China some short time back . They must have some other thing but upi is very popular and many countries want to adopt this . In our country even beggers are carry a scan code and get alms using upi that is beauty of this !
