I lived in Toronto for some time. I can only describe Sikhs there as Hindus, who became Islamized and completely alien. They have no Dharma. They have concepts like Beadbi (sacrilege) which is very Islamic/Abrahamic. They are wildly racist towards other Indians who are non-punjabi or non-sikh. I decided never to enter another Gurdwara after my experience there.

As an Indian sikh and being completely against the idea of Khalistan, the only thing this growing Khalistani sentiment abroad worries me about is how it impacts the outlook of Sikhs in India. Some people tend to generalize and look at all sikhs with raised eyebrows lately. There has been a lot of hatred.. racist comments like “oye papaji.. lassi.. khalistani..” all over social media. This is not coming from a position of selective bias but please check the comments section of any post which has a sikh in it.
I would highly urge all indians to please keep in mind that all sikhs are not khalistani. We have made numerous sacrifices for our country and we don’t want to part away. Please make sure you correct anyone who is labeling all sikhs as wrong or trolling them online for no reason.

As a resident of Canada for 30+ years, I'm amazed at Abhijit I-M's accuracy in analyzing Canada connection to Sikh issues. Abhijit provides the sort of comprehensive picture which I only understood after living many years in this country.
I should add, many Sikhs in Canada are also tired of feckless Canadian politicians who are too cowardly to take a principled stand against Sikh extremists. After the 1985 Air India bombing, the Canadian Sikh community was on the "backfoot" for a few years, and eager to show that only few "bad apples" were extremists, while most Sikhs are law abiding and mature. But as more SIkh MPs got elected in Canada, the radical elements have gotten bolder, and Canadian politicians have been too slow/stupid to respond.
One of my Sikh friends stopped going to the gurudwara in a major Canadian city few years ago, as he noticed open hate speech against India and "Hindus", and my friend didn't want his children exposed to such nonsense.
About 25years ago I lived in a small Canadian town where Hindus & Sikhs came together for festivals etc in local temple as well as gurudwara. But as years passed, the gurudwara had new rules for hall rental for private functions like, "No pictures of devi/devtas allowed inside, no vrats or pujas, only family functions" and so on. The Hindu temple never had such rules against Sikh or non-Hindu traditions, even until today the temple is welcoming to all.
Another inadvertent manner Justin Trudeau is helping Sikh extremism: Canadian economy has been badly mis-managed in the last decade by Trudeau's administration, and living costs have sky-rocketed. Immigrant youth come to Canada with big hopes, then they realize they have to work 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet. As more struggling Sikh youth go to gurudwaras for support, they may be at risk of radicalization.. depending on what groups are controlling the institutions.

This is very sad to hear. Interningling is the most important part of these traditions. I wish more people would call out the hate speeches to nip them in a bud and more sikhs would join Hindu orgs or at least make sikh orgs to join hands with Hindus

Good points but when talking about terrorism let's also not excuse "Pragya Thakur" who still has terrorist charge which was never acquitted. Out on the "excuse" of breast cancer which was remediate by drinking gau Mutra.
Hindus have also started looking up to hitler as godly figure and hindu extremist groups are the oppressors and have deeper dark desire to wipe every other religion but they try to hide the ill intentions as best they can, not all hindus are like that but toxic tribalism is being shoved down their throat, only the educated, high moral and intelligent ones have not been consumed by this.
There is no insurgency but there is a big push to eliminate all minor religions and make India a Hindu only rashtra, from 1975-1977 modi was hiding and living as a sikh when indira imposed emergency, sikhs weren't khalistanis back then or when they fought valiantly in war of 1975, or wars before that, and British imperialism before that, and afghani durranis before that or mughals before that?
How come whoever comes to power has a battle to pick with sikhs? That's because they stand with the weak and fight for them and that's why oppressors have hated sikhs.
Current scenario is a fight against Adani and sikhs will not let India be enslaved again by the hands of these petty oppressors and greed hateful pricks.
Bana Garja Singh and Baba botta Singh. 2 sikhs, challenged the mughals and they sent 200 soldiers to kill them, they fought till their last breath and killed 30 of them, tell that to Adani.
You can kill all the sikhs like you have been doing so far by false allegations and tarnishing their repute by lies but have you know that when peshwas lost to Afghanis in Panipat, they took their women to sell them in "ghazni" bazaar in Afghanistan where Jassa singh ramgharia intercepted and saved peshwas women, why no brahmin, rajput, rss or extremist hindu organisation or any king dared to save them? And hari singh nalwa took the battle to them in Afghanistan and captured their castle, the first demand sikhs made was to return, the spoils of somnath mandir. Guru nanak called babar a "jaabar", was he khalistani too?
All this is repeat telecast of what indira did to sikhs in 1984 (raw officials have confirmed) sikhs were used to win election, now bjp is in power they are copying their strategy. All this is to win elections and bring those farm laws back, if those protesters were khalistanis, why did they stopped protesting at Delhi, once those laws were taken back and why did modi took it back?
Average human IQ is 100, India 's average iq is 83,you can check. That's why dumb people would not understand this and continue to spread venom and in a dumb country that works.
So, no hope, no future. Continue spreading lies and hate.. Thats all you can do..

The only thing I can't make head or tail is on one hand Abhijit is optimistic on Indias self sufficiency on energy (Hydrogen & Solar) yet glommy on Indias development or economy.
India as of now is $4 trillion GDP; it is remarkable considering we doubled it within last 10 years in spite of huge disruption like demonetization & Covid.
Today India has the fastest growth rate and unless India don't fall in the trap of War or War like Conflict, India can easily become $7 trillion economy by 2030 which would be truly transformational.
I don't expect, India to have West like Wealth like owning swanky cars or big houses. I expect India to have access to public transport, housing and food security for all. That would be truly transformational.
The huge internal challenge off course will come from Islamist.

It is because of India's relative slowness in ramping up energy capacity. India added around 20 GW of power generation capacity in the last year. The Chinese did around 200 GW. There is a very clear correlation between energy utilization and GDP per capita. Every developed country on the planet has an installed capacity of around 2 GW per million population. For India, this means we need a minimum of 2800 GW. We are stuck at 417 GW and need to ramp up 7x to achieve developed country standards. So at this rate of 20-25 GW per year, we are going to need between 96-120 years to achieve what both the West and China already have in 2023. If India manages to ramp it up to 100 GW per year, then we still need another 24 years. Even though we may be self-sufficient, the world would have already accelerated beyond.

He is gloomy because of India's past habit of slow and inefficient govt. , bureaucracy, lack of longer term planning and How India is growing arithmetically not geometrically .
The main thing required is radical change in the judiciary, education , bureaucracy etc which he thinks is impossible as he has seen how India has always under delivered.
So I think from his perspective he is just fed up of seeing india miss opportunities

The only way India can be sustainable in the long run is by the restoration of meritocracy , spiritual goals and dharmic values in Indians. Without these, all we will have are flashes in the pan.

We are also yielding ownership and control in all sectors of the economy to foreign entities in a way China doesn't. The Chinese are sensitive to the threat of being colonised.

    • @MrLee-gj2jz
      @MrLee-gj2jz Před 5 měsíci +1

@@ananthan8951 well, Indian merit is leaving Indian shores not because they were denied Govt jobs. They leave because life is so much better outside India. The material comforts of a 60,000 per Capita GDP country beats that of a 3000 per Capita GDP country. The West knows this and are depending on this differential so that they continue to attract the smartest of the developing world. This also keeps their valuations intact. Hence, India's rise is looked upon with extreme suspicion in the West. The people of merit who left India should show their patriotism and inform the Indians in India of the various Thucydides traps the West lays for us.
