    Well we nipped into Manchester today and said hello to the man himself, I had a demo of these babies and the only thought is, where do I put them and do I need and can I justify them? The soundstage was immense and given a great audition by John. I will dream a little longer but they need to be heard and they still look great in real life. Thanks for your time John👍🏻

    Your colleague gave my dad and me an experience of this beauty last friday, he was really happy to hear something special like this as he visited me from Hungary and unfortunately there's no proper B&O store there. I'm not an audiophile at all, but that really impressed me. Thanks for the demo! :)

    Stunning! Having had a lot of experience repairing vintage b&o I was worried for a while. So good to see b&o coming up with fresh ideas and world class audio visual solutions. And lovely to see a record player in a b&o shop too!

      I heard they have connection glitches. true?

    • @70h4nn35
      @70h4nn35 Před 6 lety

      ukcrydrytrywhy I had no connection problems at all, but I returned it anyway.
      I wanted to use it as a speaker for my TV, and because it doesn't have a remote control I had to change the volume via the speaker or the app, which was fine but every time I paused the music or whatever the speaker turned down the volume to a set level and I couldn't raise the level to more than 60 (or 70) in the app.
      So every time I paused, I had to open the app, raise the volume or go and raise it on the speaker itself. It drove me mad. I could set a fixed volume and only use my TV as an input for volume but then it turned off the volume slider on top.
      Great speaker except for that flaw.. Might be better for only spotify or similar.

    • @70h4nn35
      @70h4nn35 Před 6 lety

      ukcrydrytrywhy oh yeah, and the Bluetooth delay is insane, it cannot sync audio and video. So I had to use the line in (which also has a delay but you can turn it off, but then you can't use the multiroom function). Even my old UE boom has no delay with Bluetooth sync. Pathetic. And the app for Android is embarrassing, just down the drain.
      Still liked the speaker it self, too bad it's flawed with all things I mention... I'd like a mk3 with all that fixed. But it probably won't happen.

      Thanks for the detailed info! really appreciate it. What I think B&O is truly missing is a good R&D or at least an effective CRM. Where they put the majority of their investment is in beautiful design and powerful sound. That's only half the battle when you are in wireless speaker industry. Thanks again.

BeoLab 90 are a masterpiece in sound engineering and show what's possible from a loudspeaker with more realism and even more accurate staging and scale but BeoLab 50 are not lacking by any means, both very special indeed. • @AlpineBoysClub
    @AlpineBoysClub Před 4 měsíci

    Hello! I'm considering the Beolab 50 to pair with my Beosound Theatre 77. But I am curious if i am overkilling it as Beolab 28 is half the price. I have tried both in the dealership. Beolab 28 was great with maybe a little too leaned towards the bass than traditional B&O's that I'm used to. When I heard the 50, the difference was immediately felt through its clearer soundstage, better balance, and more natural sounding experience. But I'm still not sure if I should get the 50 as 28 was quite great as well. My listening would be 50/50 between music and movie. I'm also kind of concerned that it's been about 7 years since the 50 came out and it would be replaced in 3-4 years whereas the 28 is relatively new. I would like to own this system that im buying now far into the future. What would you recommend between the two?

  • @JohnEthan777

    I'm more of a headphone person over a speaker person, but the beolab 50s and 90s both seem to motivate me in their direction as they don't require a complicated setup with extra costs and too many variables. Will these be suitable for listening to lossless flacs, or is a turntable and high end player setup necessary? Sorry for my ignorance, but I listen to metal, and that too on headphones so I am not very familiar with the technicalities of speaker setups.

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  Před 6 lety

      Hi Ethan, there are connections for turntable / high end source equipment or you could just plug in a BeoSound Core and listen to lossless from your favourite music service or NAS drive , you have all sorts of options. The speakers are pretty flexible for all sorts of setups. John

    This company build and design beautiful audio etc. So much so that if you don't live in a '3000 sq ft architect designed' cliff top home, their designs can 'sometimes' unfortunately look completely out of place even intrusive (no fault of their own) due to the homes interior aesthetic not complementing the B&O design. But if you just crazy about B&O's fantastic designs then cool.

    I can appreciate what B&O have achieved with many things, but this price is a little steep, when you think about that you can get a set of Martin Logans for the same price. Okay taste is subjective, and I know many like B&O design. But for pure sound, I think I know where I would put my check. But I have always been a fan of electrostatic speakers, sooo..:)

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  Před 7 lety +5

      I get what you are saying (I like Martin Logan too) but with BeoLab 50 you are are also buying 14 perfectly partnered built in ICE Power amplifiers and a built in pre amplifier, all you need is a source or sources. The Martin Logans have to be paired with additional power amps and a pre amp as well as source equipment and cables (they can really add up financially!). So actually BeoLab 50 are pretty good value! • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  Před 7 lety

      Hi Kaz. Atmos enabled speakers are just small upward facing speakers that sit on top of your front or surround speakers to try and bounce sound off your ceiling. B&O don't make specific Atmos speakers like that but you can use B&O speakers in an Atmos setup if you like. John.

    • @diadinamca2465
      @diadinamca2465 Před 6 lety

      Hi Kaz, I recently upgraded my B&O setup to Atmos. The best way of doing this is to use the B&O celestial or Palatial they are passive speakers so you would need an additional (power)AMP to power the ceiling channels, but you would need one any way as at the moment B&O processors dont support Atmos yet.

    Just to correct you, binaural recordings by good microphones show the sound of any speaker pretty well as long as you listen with good headphones.
    You should at least try it out yourself before stating that it makes no sense.

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Speaker Toni. I have heard many so called 'binaural recordings' of B&O products and I agree it's an ok way of showing a sound difference between 2 speakers placed next to each other. You can as the viewer perceive a difference through headphones. Ultimately you are still listening to a speaker in someone else's room over a mic, compressed to CZcams, played back through your headphones. That is nothing like having the speaker in front of you.
      One of the main features of BeoLab 50 is the superb stereo imaging and room correction, that can only be experienced sat in front of them. I promise!
      I quite like your channel by the way, thanks for coming over to mine for a watch :-) John

    • @speakertoni2680

      Bang & Olufsen of Manchester I tried many bigger speakers including Thiel CS5 and Wilson Audio Alexia and I recorded both with my equalized DPA 4060 mics. In both videos you can nicely hear the accurate sound of both when listened with good headphones.
      Often you see cheap recordings from bad mics on CZcams and those are completely useless but if you use really good mics it gives a very nice impression of the sound and even imaging.
      Still I agree, real life always is a unique experience!
      If you want you can send me over the Beolab 50 to check them out in real life hehe;) Toni

    B&O will never be respected as an audiophile product (faithfully reproducing music as close to the original recording as possible) because "acoustic lenses" create all sorts of phase shift problems. B&O will never show their measured frequency response.

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  Před 4 lety +1

      It's an old misconception that I've heard before. B&O have a mission statement to produce music as the artist intended right from the Bluetooth speakers all the way to BeoLab 90. There is a lot of development and human testing that goes into fine tuning the sound. I love the 'audiophile' systems with big mains purifiers and mono block and the like but BeoLab 50 and 90 are both very impressive and I truly think they can be considered high end 'audiophile' speakers. I agree that part of the price is to make high performance speakers look pretty (a challenge in itself!) but there is nothing wrong with that in my eyes. I wish more audiophiles would forget that old myth and give something like BeoLab 50 a listen with an open mind.
      That said I love the big Wilson Audio speakers, they are so unusual and ugly that I think they are beautiful!
      There is a technical document for BeoLab 50 that talks about everything in huge detail and shows frequency charts if you would like to see it, email me at jw.kingstreet@bang-olufsen.co.uk and I'll send it to you with pleasure. All the best, John

    They have a sweet spot everywhere in your room!
    That is nice, but having wheels is still neat if you want to move them outside and blast outside and annoy your neighbours.
    😂
    Beolabs are pretty heavy.
    But still Beolab sounds way better and sound quality is better and bass is so much better!
    Beolab is the best party speaker too!
    JBL Partybox Ultimate killer easily!
    Cry cry Fanboys!
    I want them!
    I really want these monsters someday in my life!
    And enjoy them!
    💪😎💪
    Now i am broke and cannot buy em, but i will do something to ge there!
    I can get there if i really just do it!
