    Another Tip that works in cases but not all is to ask for referrals from those who grant you permissions. And sometimes them call the new referrals for you if the two of them are on good terms. Thanks for the info Mr. Digger, great video.

    Enjoyed your video. That's all we do is door knock, and we have a similar paper that explains what we do. We tell the home owner we are on CZcams and we show them everything we find. If they are not home, we just come back to talk face to face. We have a very good success rate. Take care and Keep Swinging!

    Greetings from Rochester NY.
    Excellent tips. One of the things that I have done is to offer upfront a $25 gift card in exchange for hunting their property and keeping all of the finds. This has paid off. I only do this for properties that I’m sure will pay off.
    Happy Hunting

    Thanks for the tips! I am a delivery guy that travels 300 plus miles per day 5 days a week. I usually keep an eye out for possible locations as I'm driving along. Once I have a couple ideas I do a little research and then stop by when i see someone outside. I have never been turned down yet. And alot of times they point me in the direction of other places of interest to obtain permission. I might just try out this method.

      The letter I think helps also build your “pitch”, your narrative. You can also use the example finds sheet as a leave behind too. My point is that even though it’s a direct mail approach, the exercise can help build confidence to door knock.

      Thx Laszlo. You don’t need a CZcams channel. Maybe think about making a simple flyer showing some of your finds. Something you can hand to or mail to the home owner as you ask for the permission.

    I like this and used to do something similar and was able to secure a couple of permissions. Mentioned it on my blog but everyone thought it was just inviting a turn down, aka no response. Thanks, well done.

      Yes. It’s higher when I add the property owners address vs when I label property owner and stuff in the box.

    I tried this idea in the UK but I've found it didn't work introduction or visiting properties work better as the owners like to see you and you build up a trust of each other and an agreement can be given then but everyone is different but to anyone don't give up. A good video and nice ideas. Your a one in a million to get rich out of this hobby that's deff true. And happy new year with plenty of finds

  • @theberkshiresmatreasurehun5337

    That's very cool i might try to do that
    I have had a huge success with permission by using something called the community board in my area it's an local online community board and i am very lucky to live in a historic area and the town i live in love history so i made an online permission package i introduced myself pictures of my finds and asked if someone would be interested in giving me a permission and it took of like crazy i haven't got to half of them yet and i keep getting permissions so if you have an online community board use it
    But i will definitely try your idea too

    I do something similar. Personal letter, with business card, photos of my finds in the area, and self addressed stamped envelope. The letter is written custom for each landowner but follows a given format. Try to let the owner know I'm sincere and not a meth head. Have a good success rate with this method.

    • @TheHistoryDigger1
      @TheHistoryDigger1  Před 6 měsíci +1

      That’s a good question. It depends on where you’re located but I’d wait until a month or so before conditions allow digging. You can always mail a few out to gauge the response level however I’d at least wait until after the holidays.

      Hey whatever works for you. I often write “property owner” on front or the name/address if I can get via the OnX app but I’m sure some do not open. A 10% response rate though…is working for me. Thx for watching and commenting.
