    Aye jay you should leave the welding for an actual welder to fuse your so called gusset.. Those holes in your welds aren't a good thing.....

      Thanks Moe... kinda what I figured. Isolation of engine and transmission vibration is always a good deal.

      They’re rubber for a reason! Friend of mine did solid mounts and poly bushes to his ford cortina. Puts a lot of stress on other parts including all your back lol

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 3 lety +1

      Provides amazing cross triangulated support between the shock towers and trans mount. I saw a huge change in rear-end stabilization with my larger engine.

    Here in south Africa a person must manufacture your own kafer bar your Americans are privileged to get all beetle spares

      Yes, the Beetle is still well supported here in the USA.

    How does this affect your ability to do engine swaps ,as far as time goes....also does it require more time if you need to pull transmission or complete transaxle? I have removable rear valance for ease and speed of said projects due to my use of 59 bug

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 3 lety +1

      Great question Redd, as far as pulling the engine a would say no difference. When it comes to the trans I would say it may add a little but with the pins each bar is removed pretty easily.

  • @reddmann2216
    @reddmann2216 Před 3 lety +1

    Total cost?

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 3 lety +1

      As of today Redd, according to CRC's website the kit goes for $275.00... that doesn't include shipping.

    Shouldn't that lower bracket be " welded " on the horn fork ?

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey brother thanks for the comment!! I really thought about doing that and still might at some point but I got to be honest that thing isnt going anywhere. Especially with the 2 bolts in there, if you check the video description I added a link to the install instructions from Coolrydes.

  • @cyprianskiba8768

    Does this help with the camber as well? For example, I have a camber compensator bar that helps it drive straight after hitting gnarly bumps at high speeds.

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 3 lety +1

      It did help some with the Camber, pushing the shock tower back out.

  • @scottalvey1787

    Jason, noticed the extra hole drilled is close to the bracket edge. Agree with 2 holes. Noticed you also have yellow trans mounts? Where’d you buy them? I just bought the rhino mounts from CB. Since my engine is out, I’m installing the same.

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 4 lety +2

      The trans mounts came with the transmission from Rancho.

  • @dmck2533
    @dmck2533 Před 4 lety +1

    I noticed on the instruction sheet that Coolrydes installs the fork tabs in the opposite direction. Do you notice that?

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  Před 4 lety +1

      I did... just didn't like the way it was further in front of the trans mid-mount. This way it seems better placed with my 2 bolts centered on the trans nose mid-mount. But either way I'm sure is fine.

    Jason . Great bug. Love it . I had a 51 split . My mind set is from my past and now dealing with H.P. LOL . If you " Turbo " your next engine, you will be not only welding everything. You will be holding onto your @%^&* . Love my Ron Lumus RLR turbo . Keep up the great videos.
