- My brother wasn’t able to visit the guy he’s been talking to for months. This guy is his first real relationship, and it’s the first time he’s ever felt this way about someone, and he can’t travel to Reading (which is about 2 hours away from where we live) to visit him.
- My mother’s 23 year old cousin committed suicide. His family couldn’t have a funeral for him.
- My sister is pregnant and we might not be able to hold or even see the baby (she’s not due until May, so we’re not sure about that one yet)
The point is, everyone is making sacrifices in order to keep people safe. *How spoiled and privileged do you have to be to think the rules don’t apply to you?!*

I’m so sorry for what happened to you. I went through something similar with ny aunts, uncles, and grandparents have been infected, or dead. We couldn’t even have a funeral for them. Many MANY people have been making sacrifices so the world can get better but some of our progress goes away because tiktoker just wanna break the rules and have fun??????? No. They need to stop their parties JUST FOR NOW, so the pandemic can get better and we can get back to normal, like having big parties. Just because you don’t have parties doesn’t mean you won’t earn money. Having parties spend money. Making content safe in your home will probably save those rich tiktokers so they need to calm down and BE PATIENT! Key word PATIENT!

My brother's birthday was today. We had a zoom meeting with our family, we baked a cake, and we built a house together in Minecraft, which is one of his favorite games.
There are many fun things you can do on your birthday which don't require having a big party with tons of people.
You can also see people in person in a safe way! On my 18th birthday my gf came by and we sat outside, distanced and grilled outside
for my bday, i binge-read all the books from my tbr list and binge watched shows on my "watch later" afterwards!! i see birthdays as a day long 'me time'!!

@@moetrashu it's probably worth noting that even before the pandemic, I was homeschooled, all of my friends were online (and usually didn't live in my state), I barely ever left my room let alone my house, and parties gave me extreme anxiety and often induced shutdowns or meltdowns (I'm on the autism spectrum and struggle with sensory processing, so the loud noises that come with a bunch of people hanging out in one space tended to be very stressful).
THERE'S STILL NO EXCUSE TO BE ACTIVELY ENDANGERING OTHER PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC THOUGH, BE RECKLESS WITH YOUR OWN LIFE IF YOU HAVE TO BUT DON'T PUT EVERYONE ELSE AT RISK YOU SELFISH ASSHOLES!

“It’s his 21st bro!” I turned 21 in July and played animal crossing all day. My villagers threw me a party and then I had food delivered from doordash. I FaceTimed my friends. That was pretty much it. It wasn’t a huge party and it was still a really fun day. For my sister’s birthday we all got face masks and sat on a zoom spa, since that’s her ideal day. There’s so many things you can do that’ll suit a person while being safe and social distancing.

My 21st bday was in June. My bf and I walked around the shopping district in my town which has a really nice park and and cool shit to look at, even though most of the shops were closed, then walked to the bar district and went to a bar (w/ masks on ofc) with like 3 people there and ordered a few drinks and had tacos. Everyone there was distanced with only a couple people working there. We walked along a lake afterwards then headed to my mom's place to have cake with my fam. It was nice, simple. Like most of my bdays tbh

30 kids from my school had a “prom”, no masks, no social distancing, and we start school in a week. school doesnt require testing for anyone, and im praying that they dont cause an outbreak in school. Im 17 and only have one parent who’s 60 with asthma and id like to graduate high school with that one parent being there

Schools really need stop opening up so soon in the middle of the pandemic. I don't know how many days of school you are going to have, but I do know what I would do. I would boycott it and say that unless it's online school or they start taking tests, then I'm not going. Then make parents aware and boycott it together, so the school has no choice but to take the time to test. The school has no right to endanger you or your parent's life. They should also tell students who have went to gatherings to stay home as well. This is my opinion, and I hope you and your parent stay safe and healthy. 😔

I work overnights in a diagnostics lab that nowadays mostly does Covid tests; the number of which grows exponentially by the week no thanks to "influencer" parties like these. Hey, don’t avoid going to the hospital. The covid patients are kept on separate floors to prevent spreading infection. You’ll be perfectly safe. My mom worked at a hospital in a high position until she retired a few months ago and dealt with a lot of covid procedures. The hospital is actually the safest place to avoid covid besides your own home.

I got to see my grandmother just once in 5 months before she died, we had to hand-pick 15 people for her funeral so some of her closest friend couldn't even see her one last time bc of social distancing, I spent my 13th and 14th sharing my cake via webcam with my grandparents as the only virtual guests and I almost killed myself during quarantine, he could skip his 21st without problems.

As someone that worked as Security in a Hospital in the highest peak of this pandemic, this is making me so furious. I had to keep out becoming fathers while their wives gave birth and they werent allowed to visit them...same with old couples where one might not survive. No one was allowed in and patients weren't allowed to go out either. I stood at the entry for 12 hours straight. Everyday. I saw people break down every hour with the difficulties of this situation. Im also 21. Seeing those influencer parties, how they just won't stop while *they* are the reason this pandemic continues and gets worse. Wear your fucking masks, keep social distance and wash your hands. How is that hard??

They are in Missouri and have been amazing with my Aunt Jan putting out back in March that people could make face masks and gowns for hospitals. Beyond that. My aunt moved to Vegas for a couple of months (abandoning her children)
my step father got laid off of work
My moms best friend died of cancer
(Ik this isn’t even half as bad as what some ppl have gone through
They couldn't cancel a party meanwhile my aunt and father's funeral were canceled. Funny how that works. But people will still support and defend them because they have money and are famous. No one would ever try to make a chance for funerals for regular family or for a 10 year old like me to attend her father's funeral but they can throw house parties and no one says stuff.
