      @@wifihaxr8909 @WiFi Haxr This is a review unit sent by Dell and not a retail sample. It could be drivers, bios, ram speed or a combination of hardware/software reasons. I tested it straight out of the box without any updating and that was the result I got.

      1080p is not blurry but most other resolutions are a little. You shouldn't have to go lower than that to get playable frame rates

    Nice review.
    I'm thinking of getting an Alienware on Black Friday, i want to play games on it etc, do i need to shell out for the top specs on the device which obviously will cost a lot more cash, I'm willing to if need be but a bit of advice would be great.

    • @AliensStoleMyCow
      @AliensStoleMyCow  Před 3 lety

      No problems. The OLED screen is obviously the best upgrade unless you need 240hz for FPS. You don't need to max it out on specs. i7 should be enough for gaming. You also don't need nVME raid. Get the cheapest HDD and just upgrade to nVME yourself. You are allowed to do it without voiding warranty. Memory you have to select enough though.

    I wish you’d had commented more on the 60Hz refresh rate with the 1 ms OLED response time in comparison to LCD for gaming. Is it very noticeable when playing something like Destiny 2?

    • @AliensStoleMyCow
      @AliensStoleMyCow  Před 3 lety

      Generally anything under 5ms is fine and not that noticable. 120/144hz is much more noticable and really helps with tracking targets in shooters.

      My test was done with web browsing on the OLED and it was around 5-6 hours. But I did have a black wallpaper so that helped. It also depends on your GPU and CPU as they contribute somewhat to the draw. My test model had an i7 and rtx 2070

    Everyone is saying this laptop is upgradeable. Does that mean I can buy an I7 processor with it, then upgrade to an i9 later on down the road? Or does that just mean I have the option of choosing it when buying?? And does the same go for the ssd memory, and graphics card?

    • @AliensStoleMyCow
