Cozy K is easily my favorite guest host. Scott the Woz & so many others were so wonderful to have because I love their channels and was already subscribed. But Cozy K I wasn’t really familiar with, and she just brings such a fun, kind, and interested energy. This may be my favorite Nontendo podcast episode since before Bob left. This one was really sad, because I love Wood for the personality, I love the wit, the vulnerability and the openness. In the internet there's always going to be some negativity, but I hate both that it is directed at you and that it affects you and your content. Same with the Wind Waker teaser video. People really are in dire need of a way to vent and they have no tools nor constructive paths to channel their energy, so they are very destructive, and it's such a shame. Love you.

Wood seems to not take into account that even if a Monkey Island retrospective might do worse than usual it will more than likely draw in a new audience who will take a look at his other content. I'm surprised that at this point he doesn't just do what he likes and just let the chips fall where they may. But I see he's really affected by the stats and comments so I get it but some content might also do a lot better than he might think beforehand. I'm not saying he has to turn everything around, just that there is no problem in occasionally trying something different and just enjoy even if it's just a one-off thing.
Trying to define a cozy game is like trying to define a fun game.
Everyone got their own preference/definition.

Wood, some feedback. The audio is very low and sometimes I have a hard time hearing the podcast even with 100% volume, specially during the sponsored spot. Otherwise, great job. I love guests, the image quality, the sound quality is great (just low) and the set is awesome.

I would like to correct your statement that you had to connect something to your TV to play Stadia. You could also play on your phone, and I think they added chrome browser support later... It wasn't the connection points that were the problem, it was the latencey that was effectively a non-solveable problem when dealing with real-time 3D games having to be streamed over whatever connection you were using.
I really enjoyed this episode! Her professional experience in a corporate job resonates with me as an accountant with gaming and cute crafting interests. Its like having a dual identity lol.

No you're right, most games barely contain any game data and even the ones that do are copied/stored/run through the console not the Disc. Bene thst way for 2 generations.

Little Goody Two Shoes is like cosy during the day sections but absolutely not at night (so creepy!), but it is a great game and an amazing indie. So atmospheric and gorgeous too. So wouldn't know where to put that.

As I have been stating for a while to people, this means it won't get announced until early next year (Q1). They wan't want to lose out on one last xmas rush for the current Switch.
That’s why I’ve kinda lean towards more story, single player games now, than just playing multiplayer or competitive games.

Hey, just wanted to say I love the show and how you've found a way to make it work without Bob. I didn't get a chance to give my opinion on the podcast on that one episode but I'd thought I'd say it now. I love the guests, but it feels like the conversation leans heavily on content creation instead of gaming, even though I know those things relate. But I think those conversations with content creation guests are going to happen naturally, so I think I would love a break from the guests now and then for you to do news or something wacky like the tier list again. Otherwise I'm still watching :)

1:11:23 I don't think the future of gaming is streaming (definitely digital only but not streaming) because the way people generally engage with games is wildly different than music/tv, with a movie I might watch it at absolute most three times if its really good (theater + home + with friends) thats 3 evenings (2 if you don't count the theater visit), with music I'm not going to go out of my way to seek songs if its not available then I don't care to listen its mostly just background noise (and I think thats how most people engage with music aswell), however with games most people are directly engaged and it takes a lot of evenings for one playthrough (especially for 50-100 hours games like death stranding or persona) and people often replays games if they were good after a couple of months/years so renting it doesn't feel as a whatever thing you kinda want to "own" the license
theres also the production cost, triple a games nowadays can take like 5-6 years to develop (according to jason schreier), the 10 dollar/month renting method isn't going to make up for the cost of making (which we can already see with gamepass and xbox themself directly having to cut down on dev cost)
(there is also the part where the method is getting questionable, with spotify artists barely getting scraps from the listens and netflix is starting to struggle to keep up in recent years with having to make it more expensive, have ads and removal of password sharing, they rose in the first place because they were in the right place at the right time and could get a ton of cheap licenses for old shows/movies that publishers didn't care too much about at the time)

A little feedback on the golden switch video. I didnt watch the youtube or tiktok because i didnt have any reason to click. If it was framed as a DIY or how-to, i wouldve clicked to get that information. The thumbnail just looked like a gold-colored switch😅. There was no draw.

Ok, I keep hearing about "toxic communities".....there has always been toxic people in ever community, and they will always be there. And gamers talk trash because it's fun, and gamers are competitive. Remember xbox live in 2007-2009? The internet is the ultimate chat room. Of course you will have the entire spectrum of people. But just like on xbox live, you just ignore the hateful people and move on. Don't carry their hate and ignorance in your mind. You are smart enough to know the difference between trash talk, and hate. Just ignore the hate. The majority of people are good people. Let's stop giving toxic people so much attention and real estate in our heads.
Some people don't like "trash talk" and trash talk can be quite hateful.
If the podcast comments are too much then maybe disable them. I don’t think the core people who listen feel the need to HAVE to comment because they’re hear to listen. Do whatever is best for your mental health so you can enjoy the things you love!
