Gotta say, the nods to old 2010 countdown tropes are really taking me back. Shorter entries, overreliance on stock clips, a sudden jump to a pithy summary statement at the end, man. If this is your way of waxing nostalgic, thanks for bringing me with ya.

I really love how you mentioned all games and also included honorable mentions. Also, the transition between the placements (using the defeated boss from the previous entry) was great!
Welcome back, Scorpion. Hope things are going good with you and your folks.
I'm not gonna lie, I've never seen you as the funniest countdown guy...but when I heard your rant on the Moldorms, I started to laugh so hard. And when I heard you call Mr. Between Worlds a cheeseburger, I nearly keeled over from the amount of water that I shot out my nose. So congrats...I guess. I need some paper towels...
Seriously though, amazing work as always. Can't wait for that best boss list later down the line.
Oscar's not the first to make that comparison, actually. I remember Mr. Enter making that comparison years ago, and ever since then I've been calling it Burgerdorm because it's just too true. *XD*

Remake time! Time to give my thoughts on the list.
19: The life sucking weed, how many different bosses has the Deku tree asked you to kill at this point?
18: Good Design, Great music, and a cool dungeon... too bad Fyrus couldn't live up to the hype.
17: One big green punching bag.
16: Could have hoped for more from this big bad bug.
15: Neat use of the duel screens, can be kind tedious to line your shots up.
14: Calamari to go please, extra seed-soning.
13: Wait... no fish fry? Huh, but yeah making an only semi good fight worse is not what a remake should do.
12: JUMP, JUMP, JUMP! SLASH, SLASH, SLASH! and avoid the pit... programming bugs, am I right?
11: Someone get the salt for this slug.
10: A tri colored fashion headache.
9: Waiting....
8: Not my pick for the worst but I guess not all flames can burn as hot as others.
7: Ah the infamous Boss of the infamous Water Temple.
6: Wait... he's a sea urchin? I'll take the Seasons revamp please.
5: This how you make a fire breathing Dinosaur LAME!
4: Finally getting a rant about a lame scorpion out for you, and than a repeat, repeat, REPEATING BOSS!
3: Ah! Makes sense why we had to wait for this one. SCREW THIS WORM!
2: Volvagia's lame cousin.
1: Hello George, the black spot on one of my favorite Zelda games. _sigh_ Good times we had back than.
ummm.... mayhaps the consept of fyrus is to make you use 2 diferent items in cohesion to bring down the boss to deal damage with the sword and it being a straightforward boss also kinda helps its case vs blizzara (who imo is the WORST of the bosses in it but thats not entirely bad cause she's also a good boss) cause a fight where ya can manage to turn off your brain a bit while needing some neurons to switch between items and go to beat the head in while blizzara is kinda..... slow, somewhat dificult given its on icy ground, and can also be a PAIN to hit the boss with the item ya need to use for the fight which is unfortunate
The only dispute I will have is while Gyorg is miserable, Twinmold in the remake is just...maddening. It's a war of attrition, and you literally just don't know if you're effectively harming it or not.
Like literally, I have beaten him a few times and every time, he just seems to arbitrarily die.
I know! Both bosses sucked hard to me!
Gyorg at least has the dubious honor of being frustratingly difficult. Get yourself some Chateau Romani, fill your seven bottles with fairies, and you're good to go.
Twinmold doesn't really fit the theme in Ikana (you fight the undead king, then the boss of the ninja spies, then a reaper-like figure, then... Two giant flying worms? What?) and the remake really isn't clear on if you're damaging the red one.
Oh, and apparently swinging the control stick as Link is swinging Twinmold around deals additional damage. NOT THAT ANYONE TOLD YOU THAT, EVER.
With the additional issue that, in single cycle runs, Twinmold is the last boss you'll face. Tick tock, counting down, look, the Moon's falling on Clock Town.
It was discovered by romhackers that the Red Twinmold's hit counter resets every time it burrows into the sand, meaning you have to hit him 10 times or throw 2-3 rocks at him before he burrows into the sand or else he'll fully recover, so if it felt like it took forever to kill Twinmold, it's because it actually could take forever

They could have had a powered-up Dark Link as the water temple boss. Probably with a fighting style like Ming-Hua from Avatar The Legend of Korra, who could create various water arms and blades with psychic power. It could have been defeated by freezing the arms and tearing them off with the Longshot one by one.
Oh that is cool!
That sounds so cool, but probably beyond what the N64 and 3DS were capable of doing. Maybe a full fledged remake for the Switch?
You know what's sad yet funny in Link's awakenings final boss the nightmare boss fight has Moldorm in it which was also the first boss of the game. Which was meant to be Link's nightmare. Man, these countdowns are nostalgia paramount. Please never stop doing these.
The Imprisoned. Just no. That fight, every time I return, makes me remember why I stopped playing Skyward Sword continually. If there's ever a remake, Nintendo needs to acknowledge this and make the fight either significantly easier, or give more interesting ways of actually succeeding. As it stands, there's not been a boss in any Zelda game that has kept me from replaying it for fear of how much I despise it getting in the way. The Imprisoned, however, has gutted multiple runs of Skyward Sword because I hate it just that much and I despise going through it, even to see the rest of a game that, having replayed it a second time with a more critical eye, I've actually come to love more than the first time I played it...janky motion controls aside.
He'd be #1 on this list for me personally. Gyorg can't possibly make me want to never play Majora's Mask ever again. The Imprisoned actually made me want to scream at the top of my lungs at one point during the fight and made me literally rage quit a second playthrough of an otherwise great Zelda game. That's a real boss accomplishment right there, be SO damn hard to deal with that it makes the player quit the game in rage. Huh I wonder why that's not a mechanic in more recent games, huh, Nintendo...? Oh well, 2011 was a strange time for them indeed.
Getting to the ledge above then dropping on to his head and hammering the spike in makes The Imprisoned an absolute pushover in every phase.
Did you ever try to use the central wind gust to float up high above and then skydive onto its head? It's easily the least frustrating way of defeating it.
Does anyone remember that you can slice of the imprisoned fingernails every time he tries to climb up a ledge?
@@arch1017 Yeah, that trick lets you do every single one in less than 2 minutes.
Boy are you in for a treat! Skyward sword for the switch is coming out July 16th 2021 aka this upcoming Friday
I’ve already pre ordered it off of Amazon in May …but I have never played skyward sword because of the hate and defeating the imprisoned 3 TIMES! But it should be easy on the switch since you can play it in either handheld or with joy cons separate in your hands like the wii
4:56 Morpheel can actually attack you (by picking you up with one of its tentacles and dropping you into its mouth), but it's a close range attack; and sense you're suppose to attack it from a distance with your clawshot not many people see that.
Oh yeah. Happened to me once when I got impatient for waiting for the eye. Hits like a truck though that may have been cause I was playing in hero mode.

I just saw this video in my recommended and decided to click it thinking "This aught to be a fun ride."
And it indeed was! I had quite a few Laughs and a lot of agreements for the bosses you ranked as the worst. You made some very valid points! Imprisoned certainly sucks for sure, like the first go might be a little interesting for a first time playthrough, but definitely annoying when you need to take it out 2 more other times.
I bursted out laughing when I heard Moldorm was a Cheeseburger, I got the game and that was my immediate first thought too.
I laughed even more when I reached Gyorg's ranking as number one, that Boss definitely sucks.
Can I just say how much I love how you made it sound like you were slipping into anger as the video progressed? Good work on this video.
Ok the liar liar reference during mothula got me pretty good. That was hilarious
You actually had me for a moment thinking you were gonna have Molderach as the SS representative.
but tbh for Skyward Sword the games worst bosses are frankly Tentalus and The Imprisoned as they are both terrible....but The Imprisoned is much worse seeing as you have to fight him 3 FUCKING TIMES!!!!
and to this day I still find Skyward to be my least favorite entry in the Zelda series....yes I actually find this game to be worse then Zelda 2
@@bulborb8756 Don't insult my beloved Monster's Ink kraken. Seriously. Why is so difficult find someone that also likes Tentalus? It had a good anticipation, atmosphere, made a good use of the skyward strike and force you to be fast with the bow.

Honestly, this might be my favorite countdown you've ever done. That moldorm rant almost had me in tears, and that last entry was nothing short of glorious. Great work man!
I feel like this is more of a top bosses that got me salty
Pretty much
Moldarach actually does use his tail, he just uses it rarely in his fights because hes so easy to defeat and he normally charges or digs. It also makes some sense for it being in the future LMF when you think about it being abandoned, nature takes over and animals rule. Though I'm honestly surprised you didn't say anything about it appearing twice. Besides, would you rather have another Tentalus instead?
25:45 He says that boss is so inconsequential that you fight it again
See i NEVER NEW you had to pull on his chains...we (my mom, brother and me cause we all play it) have always just shot it in the glowing eye gem on its head. Sooo learned something new
64 gyorg is like the easiest boss in the game. Shoot him with an arrow and he gets stunned, then go underwater as zora link and electrify him. Do that 3 or 4 times and he dies. The main issue with the temple is more completing the temple in 1 cycle then the actual boss itself
Yeah seriously no fucking idea why anyone has ever struggled against Gyorg. It's stupidly easy to figure out
Honestly the dungeon wasn't that hard for me. I had a harder time getting out of clock town my first time playing through. So many game overs but that's what happens when you're eight and can hardly read
@Jackson Corley [Student] What about it specifically?
@Jackson Corley [Student] I was just talking about how the original poster said the Great Bay temple was hard to complete in one cycle, which I never really struggled with. Twinmold is a hassle on the remake for sure and Gyorg was made into a better fight kinda but the Zora nerf just made it stupid.
Most likely they struggled with gyorge because they were terrible at swimming in the zora form. If you time your jump right you'll land back on the platform before gyorge can come and swallow you up. Also for infinite supply of magic do the romani's ranch side quest before the dungeon.
One more thing about the 3ds Moldorm: there are 4 separate fights with it, one is an extremely easy fight in the final dungeon that doesn't even require you to leave the starting platform, one is the dungeon boss, and the other two are at the end of the Treacherous Tower, with the first in the easy 5 floor part with the same health as the tower of Hera fight, but the final one is at the 50 floor hardest difficulty, has more health than before, and in order to get all the rewards, you have to go through the 50 floor hardest difficulty TWICE!
Dude...just wow. The first countdown I ever watched from you was the 15 Zelda Bosses when I was 11. I'm 19 now! So great to see you grow and evolve your craft. Keep going Oscar!!!

I owe a lot to those old videos, thanks for helping me with a nostalgia trip.
I'd love to see a list of top mini bosses from the zelda series
I actually made a list on this topic a few years ago, it was my first vocal countdown. It's not very good by my current standards, but knowing how CZcams loves to suggest it it's probably somewhere in the related section if you wanna check it out. Some of my opinions have changed since then and my ranking now would probably be a bit different, but I'm still not a fan of any of the bosses I talk about in that video, so feel free to check it out if you're interested in some things I have to say about bad Zelda bosses.
Anyway, I made that list before the 3DS remake of Majora, but had it existed then, Gyorg would definitely have been on there. I don't really hate it in the original, but my god is it irritating in MM3D.
I spit out my coffee at his last monologue! I love your passion for LoZ series. You got a new sub!
It's stupid how excited I get when I see a countdown from you and your team
You calling ALBTW!Moldorm a cheeseburger made me laugh harder than I have in a long time. Thanks for that one, Oscar!
No matter the countdown it always makes my day
I’ve never seen a countdown skip a number and come back later, it’s an impressive achievement.
Although, coming in I was also expecting Link’s Awakening Moldorm to get panned for being a bit of a difficulty spike.
For ones I personally dislike, my personal experiencewith Zelda games is limited due to my dad having a habit of playing the games for himself and then selling them off, but there’s Link’s Awakening and Link to the Past’s Moldorm fights either being too damaging for its spot in the game or too obnoxious whenever you take an unlucky fall, whatever the boss in Wind Waker’s Earth Temple is for just being super weird and not really making a lot of sense imo, and The Imprisoned from Skyward Sword mostly for how repetitive it is.
Throwback to when I was discovering CZcams by looking up Zelda countdowns and saw the old version of the best bosses, thus getting me into this channel. Good times.
(Seriously though, great job! Looking forwards to more incredible countdowns from this incredible channel!)
This was an awesome countdown. And also somewhat nostalgic for me as the Zelda bosses countdown was the one that I discovered your channel with.
Um, in the original Link to the Past, Moldorn DIDN'T recover all health when you fell out of the arena. That only happened in the GBA remake, solely due to hardware limitations. I still have my original SNES copy, and it absolutely saves the damage I dealt to it between screens.
Not when I play the SNES original. I’ve whittled down his health to the minimum many times... always back to max health upon falling.
@@tailsfan109_SonicSFM_Gamer Strange, wonder if there's a version difference, or some other reason for the discrepancy.
I remember playing ALTTP on Virtual Console on the Wii, and from the top of my head I recall Moldorm going back to full health when I fell - I'm not sure which version of ALTTP is actually ON the Virtual Console though, I presumed it was the SNES version though. Looking around online, I haven't found any kind of mention of regional or technical differences that resulted in Moldorm keeping his damage threshold. In all versions of the game, he would get his health back. It's possible you could've just been pretty skilled, or the damage difference between regular sword swings and the spin attack resulted in it dying a bit faster.
@@Videogamefangirl It's possible. Might call for some direct experimentation if I can find an adaptor for my SNES to my modern HDTV.
When I first killed Molderach, I thought there was gonna be a second phase when you tried to leave. And then it doesn’t
Celebrating Zelda by looking at the short comings. Sounds good. 👌
Okay this comment is pretty late so I doubt you’ll see this Scorpion, but the Imprisoned fight does have a way to make it more fun. Instead of attacking its toes, you can position yourself to land on its head and strike the sealing stone that way, although the latter two fights will require Groose to stun it otherwise the Imprisoned will just shake you off. This option is a lot more fun and action paced, or at least that’s why Chuggaconroy said during his Skyward Sword playthrough.
I've always had a general rule of thumb. If a countdown artist can make a video on a game series you're not generally interested in, and you still click it as soon as it pops up in your notifications? That's fantastic, and a showing of how awesome they really are. Thank you Scorpion. I tried to get into Zelda, and even though it isn't my thing, your videos talking about it are memorable, and in the case of the Moldorm rants, hilarious.
pretty good countdown but gonna call foul on something you said about moldarach: he does swipe with his tail once his claws are gone and he goes into phase 2, found it out while my niece was trying to beat the boss.
I’ve never met someone with such high praise for wind water, who also enjoys skyward sword, and majoras mask is one of the all time favorite games yet has such a hatred for their bosses... we should be friends because SAME
Hey Scorpion! It's been a while but im glad your back! Also with one of my favorite video game series.
It has been literal years since I last watched one of your videos, and it has been an absolute blast from the past
That part with Moldorm had me subscribed
I now suspect Mothula is the matured form of Moldorm's species after metamorphosis.
Oh wow, I really miss content like this.
As I was playing through Twilight Princess, I got to Morpheel, saw the giant battlefield, and thought "Weird, why does such a tiny boss have such a big area?" and then I beat the first phase.
link between worlds even adds a cheesing strategy with the hammer completely stuns him making him stop in place long enough to get a few hits in
Him: AND WHY THE FUCK IS IT IN HYRULE WARRIORS?!?!
Me: laughs until crying and out of breath
I am probably the only person who enjoyed the imprisoned fights, sure, threes times is too many times, but I liked the sense of urgency in sealing him, before he got to the top, and using bombs to slow him down was fun too, but hey, thats just me.
So your situation with Gyorg is actually quite similar to Itionoben’s situation with Wallace from Emerald: your favorite game of all time contains one of your least favorite bosses ever, but the positives (and possibly nostalgia) overwhelm that negativity.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought A Link Between Worlds Moldorm looks like a cheeseburger! It was my first thought when I first played through it.

Glad I'm not the only one who hates Gyorg.
bruh I'm wearing headphones watching this and when your voice goes really low and deep I can FEEL the bass rumbling in my chest
Love the PASSION ! As a kid playing these games the bosses were sometimes kind of terrifying, i really hated bongo bongo and having to do the walkthrough of the temple each time i lost. Also refreshing to not hear about tentalus during the ss section 🙏🏼
Glad you're back man, I hope you're doing better. I'm not sure I have a least favorite boss (It's probably the Imprisoned tbh) but my least favorite enemy is the Zant hands from Twilight Princess. I couldn't finish the game for TWO YEARS because those things gave me so much anxiety.
Fun story: When I first played Skyward Sword, I didn't go for the toes on Imprisoned; I just rode the air currents up to the spike.
As for my least favorite boss, I'd say it's a tie between Moldarach and Thunderblight Ganon, both for largely similar reasons. I can never time their attacks well enough to block or dodge correctly. Maybe this says more about my ability to play games, but there's a reason a try to get Moldarach out of the way as soon as possible for the Hylian Shield quest and why I tackle Thunderblight last.
The first video I saw from you was the Top 15 Zelda bosses, so seeing this video is kind of a nice throwback for me.
I remember being scared of fighting Fyrus as a kid until I realized that I could immediately snipe his eye as soon as it started glowing again after his recovery period
I’m honestly really happy to hear someone else talk about how awful of a fight moldarach is.
25:15 ...yes it does? It has a couple of sweeping attacks and attacks you with it when it digs underground.
I don't doubt that you might be right, but I've played through this game 4 times and fought this boss maybe 20 times and I've never seen it do that, lmao. It's just so fast and easy to uncover it that I guess it just rarely if ever does so.
@@ThePlantCommander Skyward Sword was my first 3D Zelda game, so I was still a newbie back then. I actually died a couple of times because I didn't know you had to use the Gust Bellows. It was during that time the tail shot out of the sand to attack.

I can't remember the last time you dropped the F bomb. You made sure to use it with such convinction in this one.
Holy shit. You are allowed your opinion, and I respect that Gyorg is.... a boss, but your reasoning? Holy moly. "How was I supposed to know he was susceptible to arrows?" Uh, how about the four pots with arrow refills around you? "I think I do damage with Zora magic, but magic depletes really fast!" Probably why green potions exist. You are guranteed one bottle at this point and probably have at least two. Use your resources. Even if you want to argue against bottles, the arena has FOUR magic refill spots. "Can I get some feedback I am winning?" Uhhhhhhh, yeah. Just like every fight in Majora, he flashes when he takes damage and has an animation at the halfway point. Odalwa dances faster, Goat starts letting of sparks, shitting bombs, and running faster, one of the Twinmolds die, and Gyorg gives birth...... or something.
I haven't played MM3D, so I don't have personal experience, but are you REALLY trying to argue that because there is a three day timer you aren't supposed to wait for anything? You know how many sidequests in the game are built around waiting for NPCs. That aside, combat itself is a PUZZLE in Zelda. Of course going full aggro isn't always the answer. I don't even understand what this point is trying to convey other than "I don't like waiting, so here is random reason that makes sense if you really don't think about it."
So now talking about the underwater section of Gyorg. I get it. People aren't necessarily a fan of Zora Links swimming change. While I would PREFER being buff as fuck as Zora, it makes sense to nerf it for balance. It's not like the Goron just rolls with spikes by default. You got to use magic for that. Just like you now got to use magic to go fast as Zora. Even still, at least you don't gotta rev it up like Goron Link. Also, you are bitching about magic running out again, but in the clip you showed there is magic pots littered everywhere. The game devs really seemed to try and give you something to work with and you just seem to ignore it.
So, at the end you act like having to wait a handful of seconds to hit a boss will literally make the moon crash and have you start over from scratch. Like, it's on you if you started the dungeon with like no time left on the in-game clock. By the THIRD DUNGEON you should understand around how much time you got til the final hours whether you learned of half-time or not.
Like if you really feel this way about Gyorg, cool, I just wish you had an actual argument. If you just don't like it, fine.
One actual criticism about Gyorg I can give is that when the second phase starts you are brought to the surface of the water and he IMMEDIATELY starts to try and eat you, which does a solid two hearts of damage. As someone who speedruns the game (glitchless) let me just tell you, I have practiced and practiced getting back to the center column with no success. How is someone playing for the first time supposed to?
I enjoyed the video for the most part, I really did. Some disagreements here and there, I just wish the video could have ended on a better note. (Didn't even need to be a different boss, just a better argument since it is just your opinion at the end of the day.)
