I just love how when someone makes a tutorial on the 3x3 in the comments everyone says they don't understand. But........ for square 1 everyone is just saying they understand it.
Probably because most people who try a squan might already have some experience with cubing

what they said, when i got my first rubiks cube years ago, it took me 4 hours or so to complete it using the instructions that came in the box, but with square 1 it took my like 10 minutes following the instructions that came with it

When you learn the 3x3, everything else is easier because its the same concept, but in a different form
ive been putting off learning square-1 for 2 years but i watched this vid and can do it by memory after practising for like 10 minutes. impeccable tutorial
I refused to learn sq-1 for years because of the parity algorithm, but now I’m learning and it’s actually very enjoyable

I solved my square one and held it up in the air for celebration after three hard months.
I dropped it and it full on smashed. As in irrepairable. Not only did I lose my only square one, no one believed I solved it in the first place :(

Great, finally finished it. Have been solving with a cheat sheet, but the 3x3 like notation/algos helps a lot. Guess I can learn it off my mind much easier. Hope to get there in a few days. I am not good, but I like the Sq-1. Started in December, and been around most WCA and some non-WCA puzzles.

The instructions given by QiYi can be random, sometimes they're good for beginners, sometimes they just give a very complicated series of algorithms, I would have taken weeks to just integrate all of that in my head
That tutorial is so dope that I learnt to do it in a single evening, this is utter genius. Simply making the simple cases out of more complex ones, why don't they all explain that. Thank you a whole bunch for this, now I know how to solve one more type of cube!

So this is the best Sq-1 tutorial so far I've seen on YT. BUT I really didn't get how to recognize parity. What's a good side and what is a bad side? Can someone please try to explain it to me? Would be really great.
Its kind of a thing where you have to learn full 3x3 pll (which i havent i use 2-look). A good side is a valid 3x3 pll case and vise versa for a bad side. Good+Good=no parity, Bad+Bad=no parity, and good+bad= parity. Look up a video of all 3x3 pll cases to help

How can i solve my cube with white at top when the middle bars are wrong? I have to hold yellow on top for the small middle bar to be on the left side and the long one on the right on the front.
