My dude! Great video! I suggested that topic because i was getting fatigued by the “baseball is dying” articles I was seeing. It’s always so refreshing and helpful to be reminded what makes the game so great and so fun to watch.
Baseball will never die. If I, a 30-year-old man who wanted nothing to do with baseball his whole life, can become the fan that I am now - I've been a baseball fan for 8 months, and I already support three teams (the Nats, because they're my team, the Cubs, because they're the reason I became a baseball fan, and the Twins, because they're my dad's favorite team) - then I'd say this sport has nothing to worry about.
Ruben T that’s what’s up
Ruben T exactly
*what makes baseball great?*
EVERYTHING
There is no time limit in baseball... and that means something. In soccer, when there is not much time left and your team is up, you just kick it around until time is up... same with NFL too
And basketball
In baseball you could be down 10-0 with 2 strikes and 2 outs in the 9th inning, yet there's still a chance of winning the game
@@cesarcabrera97 very low but still possible.
you never watched a football match entire life.
@@finalfrontier001 lol salty football fan because someone has a different opinion than him
One reason why baseball is great is the sport is unpredictable that times.
That's what I've always thought
exactly! Look at the A's in 2018.
@Sam Jones Football is not predictable. People throwing an egg shaped ball is not predictable.
Sam Jones People hitting a “bat”. Pretty sure they are hitting a ball buddy.
@Sam Jones football is boring and they wear to much gear.
What about a video on the rise and fall of Raja Davis going to have to retire with Joe West putting all of his pressure on him
Rajai Davis
great idea
What I love about baseball is that there’s so many finer details that you can really dig into rather than a bunch of 500lb brutes just ramming into each other for 2 hours
Obviously theres more to other sports than just that, but I love that baseball doesn’t need to be about physical dominance and violence to be captivating.

Thanks baseball the king of the king 😎
The WBC is EPIC, i’m of dominican heritage and my whole family (baseball fans or not) were all huddled and watched the Nelson Cruz go ahead 0-2 bomb against Andrew Miller, it was so crazy we were jumping and everything
MLB is my favorite sport and just about everyone I know who is a sports fan doesn't understand why. I don't mean to get a little mushy but baseball is a beautiful sport. It's a game of failure yet it's a game full of winners.
MLB is a league not a sport change that to baseball before anyone else notices.

Simply put, there’s always something on TV. Every night.
baseball is my first love, i love all sports! football, hockey, basketball:)
and soccer when it’s a USA team in the world cup or olympics;)
Another thing that baseball has over other sports is its unpredictability. In basketball you know the warriors are gonna be in the finals and in football you know the patriots are gonna be in the super bowl. In baseball anything can happen in the playoffs and that's what I absolutely love about it!
@@BeingKyleBusch18 obviously, I'm just using past seasons as examples.

@@BeingKyleBusch18 😂🤣😂 you're hilarious dude! I made a statement and wasn't entirely clear about it but it bothered you so much that you felt the need to correct me. I'm sorry it's just hilarious to me 😂 no hard feelings but be better bro!
@@MarquezDaniel that baseball sucks its not skill but luck.
@@finalfrontier001 huh?
I hate when people say baseballs so boring because
all you do is hit and catch a ball. Like the same thing doesn’t apply to any other sport. Like in soccer, all you do is kick
a ball
I been playing soccer my whole life I hate it I’m bad and that’s all you do
I have good handles in basketball but lost them tryna kick a ball the correct way 😡
Base ball is hella filthy
football is fast pace and requires skill hit a bat standing arou8nd has no value or skill.
@@finalfrontier001 has anyone ever had to hit an 100
MPH kick? No. Fastest kick ever was probably like 50-60 MPH. And its not fast pace when your on the ground pretending your hurt
Baseball is an awesome sport. So much crazy stuff happens, it’s such a hard sport to master. But it’s hard for casual sports fans to pick it up and enjoy it which frustrates me cause it will always be my favorite.
There’s rlly only one answer to this question: Bartolo Colon
I watched hundreds of games with my dad when I was young. We loved the game. The bond that it forms between a father and son is what truly makes baseball great.
The thing I've grown to really appreciate with baseball is how much fun players have in the dugout/on the field when the play isnt happening. For example Freeman knocking the ball out of Cabrera's glove the other night was unbelievably funny. And with home runs when the players toss seeds in the air when the player returns to the dugout, it just gives the game a fun vibe. A vibe that you dont really see too often with other sports.
Personal favorite unexpected hero moment in baseball is the 1992 NLCS Braves Pirates. Bottom of the 9th 2 outs and down by 1. Pinch hitter Francisco Cabrera who had about 11 PAs that entire year is sent out to win the NLCS or lose it. He hits a single line drive to left fielder Barry Bonds where Sid Bream, famous for being amazingly slow, beats out the throw to win the game and send the Braves to the WS. It’s truly awesome.
I’m about a month or two new to baseball but you and foolish baseball have some of the best content out, massive props man
The fact that it’s not restricted by the clock. For me, this is just amazing... in many sports, there’s always a sense of “hurry up, time’s running out!” But baseball truly lets you *enjoy* the game for as long as it lasts.
And as simple as the good, happy vibe among same-team fans and rival-team fans. I’m from Mexico and we just had a playoff series between two long-time rivals, what you would call a “classic” or a “derby”. It was Mexico City Diablos vs. Quintana Roo Tigers. Fans of both teams can easily sit next to each other, share some nachos, share fond memories of past accomplishments by our respective teams... and once the game is over, the losing fans will even wish the winning team “good luck in your next series, see you next season”. This rarely happens in other sports.
i love it too. There's no ties.
What makes baseball great?
Strategy and unpredictability.
Both of which go out the window when everything's a homer, walk or strikeout.
For me it was watching great moments in person... being at Verlander's 2nd no hitter with my son or watching pudge Rodriguez 9th inning 2 out walk off homer at a regular season game
lmao thats just wrong
My daughter asked me..so luckily enough I found your video...but there's more too it. I started taking my daughter to minor league games..namely the Fresno Grizzlies. From age 1 till now we still share this...she's 22 now.
Baseball unites generations and people together when everything seems so divided.
You love baseball, your dad loves baseball, your grandpa loves baseball, guy across the street loves it, your mailman loves it, that guy at the gas station that asks you for a cig loves it, everyone.
really great video, i love the game but never thougt about some of your points :D good job
Great as always
Baseball is the best
Differences in playing fields, simplicity, cool things happen at random times (ex. Pitchers hitting deep home runs and pitchers throwing great games at random), curses that get broken in fashion, and the availability. Every major and semi city has a team majors or minors and tickets are normally cheap
The best part of baseball is the constant suspense. Even if your team is up by 3 in an inning, you know it could all be lost with a grandslam by the opposing team.
For real, unlike in NBA where it’s only tense in the last 5 min
Baseball is the best sport it's unpredictable
They did turn ahead the clock last year for the Mariners and Royals. It was awesome!
What you said about the wbc couldnt be more true. Those games were so fun to watch and surprisingly competitive!
My absolute favorite thing about baseball is that for as long as it's been around, every game provides an opportunity for you to see something you've never seen before or rarely ever seen. Sometimes it might take a series of games though. Case in point: recently, Yu Darvish became the very first pitcher since 1896(when they moved the mound back to it's current 60'6") to go 5 straight starts striking out 8 or more without walking a single batter. It's crazy to think that that's never happened before with all the amazing strikeout pitchers that have ever toed the rubber. I love baseball.
Gosh dang If this doesn’t give excited chills idk what will
now I can tell and preach my non-baseball friends why I'm so crazy about this sport
I'll just send 'em the link to this video.
In addition to the unlikely hero thing, theres also the requirement to get the 27th out. No running out the clock here
Easy. Bartolo
Baseball is great because it's baseball.
This was beautiful.
Thanks for this
Here as a basketball and football fan who just wants to be put on to a sport Ive considered boring. Any suggestions to videos or topics is absolutely welcome. I love sports and I’d LOVE to love your sport.
The thing is that baseball is a classy game, and i like it. The way people think this days are different than what it used to be. But something i have learn is to not criticize what you don't understand. Respect is the key.
I remember watching on my friends crappy CRT TV that 2003 ALCS game 7 til like 2am and just getting hypnotized by the drama of Clemens choking another big start, the 8th inning rally by the Yankees, the brilliant Shutdown pitched by Rivera..then that walk off homer by Aaron “fucking” Boone of all people.
The best thing about Baseball is that it’s a game of constant failure. The best players fail to hit the ball 70% of the time
Fun. Anything can happen. Problem with baseball is the same thing wrong with the world, education. We dont teach kids how to live just stuff that might that might help. Baseball taught me so much. Perfect.
"Before starring in most new Jomboy vids" LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Postseason🔥
I love the unlikely hero potential, the strategy, the stats, and the international, multicultural scope of the game the most.
Aside from not mentioning choketober (04 red sox beating the Yankees in 4 straight) good video
baseball is always going to rock!!!
One thing I still find strange is how it’s frowned upon to celebrate home runs. Always been confusing to me
teminator365 I’m an older fella so I tend to lean to the old school baseball. I think celebrating a home run is fine. A fist pump around the bases, high five the guys at the plate. But what some of these guys are doing now just crosses the line. Standing in the box until it goes over the fence, throwing the bat, taking 45 seconds to round the bases. There is a difference between celebrating and disrespect.
James Wallace I don’t think bat tossing and staring at a ball that’s absolutely crushed are in anyway disrespectful. I’m an avid basketball fan and a big part of the game is celebrating, and in basketball the best way to make sure the other team isn’t celebrating is to beat them. Can’t really celebrate a deep 3 pointer if your teams down 20 right? Same applies here. If you don’t want the batter to gloat at a homerun, don’t give him a reason to. If something happens that’s exciting, let them celebrate how they want. It’s the other teams job to make they don’t give any sort of reason to you celebrate!
teminator365 Well you are wrong. And your comment tells me you have no respect for others.
James Wallace your comment proves that you’re actually the one who has no respect for others... not only did you tell me my opinion was wrong, you judged my character and assumed I’m disrespectful because I like showboating in sports. I made my comment as respectful as I could, it’s not my fault you’re overly sensitive and don’t like showboating in sports. This is why a lot of “older fellas” don’t get along with young people. We try to explain our opinions and instead of listening, a lot of you have a mentality of “well your opinion differs from mine, so you’re automatically wrong and you’re disrespectful for disagreeing with me” and that’s such a regressive train of thought. I was trying to have a civil discussion with you but if you want to make it personal, we can certainly do that.
teminator365 By the way, I’m not too old to spank your ass at the sport of your choice and showboat until you cry.
Baseball is great for many reasons. One for me is that obviously the WS is huge, but there’s so many little things that bring a smile. Whether it’s an 11 year minor leaguer getting called up and his 1st hit. Or a guy mentally drained getting out of a slump. So many little things that make baseball unique and interesting no matter how small or big the circumstances are
Nolan Arenado is the reason
So last night huh? Well their up 6 as I type this... o god help us
For real
They find new ways to outdo themselves that’s for sure
Nice video the dislikes are from basketball fans
Turn ahead the clock happen last year at safco Ms vs the royals
Baseball is the best period. Baseball is so great and has been that It has me rooting for the Angels since 1982. Baseball gods were kind to us in 2002. I’ve been hooked since.
It ain't the best, but it's entertaining. It's also a very good bond for a father and son/daughter.
Baseball is awesome 👌
"For how often baseball gets made fun of for being, quote, "boring," people who pay attention to it know there's a lot more fun in the game than people think."
[hangs head in shame] I mocked this sport mercilessly for 28 years, never bothering to actually learn the object or the rules, much less understand the traditions or what the game means to so many people. But baseball is a patient game, it waited for me, and it's good to be home.

I don't get why they have different hitters like second base players hitting the ball?

The Mariners did a turn ahead the clock night last year.
What makes baseball great is that team contributions are slightly less important than American rules rugby while being appreciated a lot more
What makes baseball great?
Thanks to the new extra-innings rules starting a runner on second for nothing, you can pitch a perfect game and lose.
Think it's temporary? The designated hitter was a "three-year experiment."
Dynasties in baseball are TOUGH to achieve.. too predictable in the NBA and NFL

A dream of mine is to get baseball really going in Vietnam. Maybe to see the first pro Vietnamese player ever (to play in just Japan or Korea will do).
It's not realistic. At all.
But I think baseball fans always dream of the long shots.

Irony is subjective opinions on Baseball as a sport is the same reason it is bad and dying. Interesting.
Subbing for the Jomboy mention
They don't celebrate and bang their chests after every play. Very refreshing.
Watching this since everyone talks about it in my school. As a hardcore soccer player in America, I never really got the appeal 4 american sports

No clock and you have to beat your opponents. You can't take a knee or dribble the ball until time expires.
Another thing that makes baseball as opposed to football, at least for me, is that with baseball, it’s unpredictable. There’s no script that tells you who wins and who loses, unlike with football, specifically the NFL. Let’s go back to Super Bowl 56: Rams vs Bengals. I was really wanting the Bengals to win their first Super Bowl, only for the Rams to bury them. But it was Super Bowl 58 that convinced me that the Super Bowl is scripted by the NFL for their favorite team and player to win it all.
You don’t get that feeling with baseball. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, the MLB has always shown great care for its fans. And you really never know what’s going to happen!!! That’s the best thing I can say about it!!! When a team wins their first ever World Series championship, it feels very special for everyone!!!!! It doesn’t feel scripted or fake at all!!!! People will still geek out about it!!! For example, when the Rangers their first ever World Series after 63 years as a franchise, you could feel the excitement, the joy, the sense of completion from every single Rangers fan, not just in Texas, not just in America, but all around the world as that final strike was called!!!!!!! 52 years in Texas, 63 years as a franchise, and the legacy of heartbreak was broken!!!!!!!!!!! It was amazing and beautiful!!!!!!!
I know what I said sounds kinda corny, but I feel like I summed up a lot of thoughts that were on a lot of people’s minds!!!! It’s awesome!!
Plus there’s baseball movies, which is the best sport, in my opinion, to make the best movies ever!!! If they ever made a movie about the 2023 Texas Rangers, I’d definitely go see it in theaters!!!!
Even if the NFL isn’t actually “scripted” it might as well be due to the amount of power the refs have to make bullshit calls
THANK YOU. All my friends say baseball is the most boring sport ever. But I keep giving them reasons.
Did you really have to put the 2003 ALCS on there..

the biggest problem with baseball is the salary cap. its only the yankees, red sox, dodgers and astros. small market teams cant do anything and rarely win. this makes it hard to make new fans with the underdog factor out of it
Baseball has no salary cap. Are you talking about the luxury tax?
A's won 97 games in 2018 & in 2019. They have on of the lowest payrolls.

People who like baseball arr people who wear jerseys everyday, 50 pounds overweight, athletic shorts below the knees, nike shoes, greasy beard, flat brim cap, drive an old pick up truck, and listen to eminem
Thats people that WATCH baseball.
To call baseball a "world sport" is kinda ridiculous. It's popular in the US, in parts of Latin America, and in Japan and Korea, and to a lesser extent, Taiwan.
A South African or Lithuanian who plays baseball is a rarity - like the occasional German who makes it into the NFL.
The only real world sport is Soccer.
What's your point? I think I get it that in order for a sport to be great( according to your rationale)it's has to be global. Well is that's the case, Cricket which is followed by about 1.5 billion people should be at the same level ad Soccer, and I have nothing against both sports but Baseball is and should be considered it at the top.
its called World Baseball Classic for a reason.
